China Joe counting on other countries for electric vehicle materials

Apparently we haven’t learned anything about being self sufficient regarding raw materials. With the semiconductor shortage as I reported last week being a prime example. Let’s make sure we are dependent on the world for materials needed to produce all these wonderful electric cars. Recall first:

Silicon Chip Shortage Leads To Food Shortage: Dealers Halt Equipment Shipments To Farmers

Gelsinger said U.S. dominance in the chip industry had dropped so much that only 12% of the world’s semiconductor manufacturing is made in the U.S., down from 37% about 25 years ago.

“And anybody who looks at supply chain says, ‘That’s a problem.’ This is a big, critical industry and we want more of it on American soil: the jobs that we want in America, the control of our long-term technology future,” he said. the worldwide shortage of computer chips will impact all aspects of agriculture for the next two years and beyond… farm equipment manufacturers have halted shipments to dealers because they don’t have the chips to put in the equipment… not only have combine, planter, tillage, and tractor sales been impacted, but even ATV supplies are limited. Parts, even non-electric parts, are also in short supply because the manufacturers of those parts use the chips in the manufacturing process. As farmers integrate technology into all aspects of the farming process, these highly sophisticated semiconductors have become the backbone of almost every farming operation.”

Exclusive-Biden looks abroad for electric vehicle metals, in blow to U.S. miners

Electric vehicleU.S. President Joe Biden will rely on ally countries to supply the bulk of the metals needed to build electric vehicles and focus on processing them domestically into battery parts, part of a strategy designed to placate environmentalists, two administration officials with direct knowledge told Reuters.

The plans will be a blow to U.S. miners who had hoped Biden would rely primarily on domestically sourced metals, as his campaign had signaled last autumn, to help fulfill his ambitions for a less carbon-intensive economy.

Rather than focus on permitting more U.S. mines, Biden’s team is more focused on creating jobs that process minerals domestically into electric vehicle (EV) battery parts, according to the people.

Such a plan would help cut U.S. reliance on industry leader China for EV materials while also enticing unions with manufacturing work and, in theory, reduce pandemic-fueled unemployment.

Better yet, under the approach, the United States would rely on Canada, Australia and Brazil – among others – to produce most of the critical raw materials needed, while it competes for higher-value jobs turning those minerals into computer chips and batteries, according to the two sources.

So much for America first. Remember when the left called that slogan xenophobic? This is more what their utopia looks like.

Bunkerville, you’re right..”America last or bust…” Well put.
Seeing the news this morning that there are Hunter emails saying “…btw, Dad is coming to meet you but don’t tell anyone…”
Think ol’ Joe hasn’t prospered from Russian and Chinese $$$?

I haven’t figured it out yet. So, in 2008, Barack Obama received the overwhelming support of mine workers and folks working in the oil industry (and other union dopes, as well). What did Obama do? He put oil and mine workers out of work. Despite that, they all voted to reelect Obama in 2012. I scratch my head.

Then comes along Trump who put all these folks back to work, made America safer by his no-nonsense illegal immigration position and America first policies, and what do they do? They lined up behind Biden in 2020. We might expect all the weirdos to line up behind Biden, but the polling data suggests overwhelming numbers of financially well-off women supported Biden too. So all the miners now who are watching Biden’s investment in foreign materials have got to be thinking, “Yeah, I love this guy.” It’s enough to make one vomit.

I thought maybe the “visuals” today might be helpful for those who still cannot connect the dots… it is totally sickening….
Here are some salient background points.

Cobalt is an expensive metal used in electric car batteries, costing about $35,000 per ton.
59% of cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Cobalt mining in the Congo is often done by children — as many as 40,000 — working in brutal and unsafe conditions. A euphemism for these children is ‘informal’ workers.
What follows is the harsh reality of children laboring for cobalt used to power electric vehicles.

Kundalini awakening kinda describes the presidency under Joe and Camelgirl:

When awakened, it pierces through six chakras or functional centers and activates them. Without a master, the awakening of the kundalini cannot take anyone very far on the Path; and such indiscriminate or premature awakening is fraught with dangers of self-deception as well as the misuse of powers.
Well then numb-nuts like the unemployed miners must be happy knowing their votes count. All together now lets all chant the Gayatri mantra while we sit on the coming gas lines or breadlines.

We are witnessing the suicide of the West via Progressive New Left policy. If it feels good, do it. If the ‘Hey hey, ho ho’ chants are loud enough they become law. Critical thinking replaced by critical theory. If Trump did it, do the opposite without considering consequences. This is the path to destruction. Please remember one simple truth: Biden has been wrong on every major issue for over 50 years.

The Dutch courts just ruled against Shell and their emissions…. the beginning of the end for them… It really is breath taking what is happening and defies all logic… Forget our transportation system…..

I have a great deal of respect for Robert Gates, but one thing that irritates me about him is that he tends to waffle about what “he thinks.” I certainly agree with Gates that Biden has been wrong on nearly every important US policy discussion over the past fifty years, but what irritates me is that when Gates had the opportunity to double-down on his earlier statement, he went into an “I think … I think, um, I think.”

Damn it. Spit it out. The fact is, America is in a crisis, and now is not the time to worry about offending anyone. Personally, I would have said, “What concerns me is that the world is in a dangerous place right now; the stakes are high, very high, and it is an undeniable fact that Joe Biden is a blithering idiot. I can’t imagine why any thinking American would vote for him.”

But since 99.5% of voting Americans don’t even know who Robert Gates is … maybe it wouldn’t matter anyway.

Why doesn’t Dementia Joe focus on converting gasoline vehicles to propane vehicles? That way, the emissions from C3H8 would be four water molecules, a carbon molecule, and C02.

With the heat created, the CO2 and C2 molecules would degrade or be absorbed into the environment quickly. That would be a net gain for the environment.

Well, first off, Joe Biden hasn’t had an original thought since he first realized he could go potty somewhere else besides his diaper. But how wise would it be to have 3.5 million Moslems running around in propane-driven car bombs?

It’s interesting that I heard on the news a statement by either Anita Dunn or Val Jarrett that “we don’t take everything to the top.” Just waiting to see when they will make their move…

Well then Bunker let’s all pray Val and Anita leave their tops on.
So Val gets picked up in a DC bar and agrees to have sex with the gentleman. At his place upon taking off her top she pauses and says to the guy, I have to warn you I have acute angina. The guy replies, I hope so cauz you sure have ugly ….
