George Will: GOP terrified of its own voters

Of course the GOP is more than happy to sell out Orange Man to the Dems with a 9/11 type investigation into January 6. Susan Collins and Romney are on board. More interesting is how George Will spins this on “This Week” on Sunday with George Stephanopoulos. Let’s keep the charade of January 6 alive until 2022. Meanwhile the GOP expresses little interest in the mayhem and murder Antifa and BLM are perpetrating.

This Week:

Republican leadership in the House and Senate — and Trump — came out against the proposed commission. Collins, as one of the seven Republican senators who voted to convict Trump, is one of the most likely “yes” votes on the GOP side, but that small group of Republicans is already differing from their House counterparts with North Carolina’s Richard Burr coming out against the bill, even though he voted to convict Trump in the impeachment trial.

However, the Maine senator told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos she’s “optimistic.

Just a few years ago… recall 2016?

Trump Inaugural

The so called “terror” just might be sending all of these GOPers Reps packing.

Volume up! Looks like a dangerous crowd to me don’t you think. Of course this is after the police invited them in but I already discussed that.

U.S. Capitol Police Gave Protesters OK To Enter Capitol

Rumble — In this short clip, Capitol Police officer Keith Robishaw warns protesters—including “Q shaman” Jacob Chansley—inside the Capitol Building on January 6 against using violence. Chansley and another protester are then seen instructing other protesters to be nonviolent as they exercise their right to assemble.

A newly-obtained video shows United States Capitol Police officers speaking with several January 6 protestors—including Jacob Chansley, the so-called “Q shaman”—inside the Capitol that afternoon.

One officer, identified in the video and confirmed by charging documents as Officer Keith Robishaw, appears to tell Chansely’s group they won’t stop them from entering the building. “We’re not against . . . you need to show us . . . no attacking, no assault, remain calm,” Robishaw warns. Chansley and another protestor instruct the crowd to act peacefully. “This has to be peaceful,” Chansley yelled. “We have the right to peacefully assemble.”

The best of the swamp today.

Wondering why Republicans would be voting against a commission when there’s apparently a TON of information which shows Lefties led the ‘insurrection’….

Nrringlee’s comment is terrific, above……..but I, apparently for one, very much like what I’m hearing from particularly Freshman Republicans, White and BLack, who are gathering steam to stop putting politics and private careers above our country. Fingers crossed, prayers going up!

I think I might be the only one who still believes America can lick this nightmare we’ve accepted so far…..I hope not.

They are voting against it because “their” witnesses will not be called. It will be a one sided afair. Does anyone think the impeachment was a fair and balanced business? The last I heard the GOP were negotiating for their own, but had not been successful.. It will go on until after the end of 2022. Take it to the bank.

NOBODY on the commission would be Republican and call for witnesses which support the truth about Trump? Honestly, one only has to listen to his speech to the crowd to know he did no inspiring to violence.

The Commission will be about those involved to set up a purge of Conservatives and of those who supported Trump. The media will have a field day and twist what is clear to us.

Those who control the narrative control the truth-of-the-moment. I don’t agree with opening Pandora’s box … again.

    Mr. Will,

It is darn near past time for the elected to be afraid of and to start listening to those who elected them. I, for one, am sick of how John Cornyn turns conservative only on election years.

Have you heard what that RINO is doing to carry the water of the Biden administration? He wants to put into law something that Butt-edge-edge proposed at the beginning of the year and was shot down for (something that will increase the costs of everything shipped via truck): John Cornyn wants to tax trucks by the mile.

I’ve got a better idea than taxing trucks to get money for roads: tax the electric cars $40K a pop. They’re only purchased by rich people anyway and your Democrat friends are always wanting to “stick it to the rich.” You could even make it proactive and goose AOC for her high-end Telsa.

You nailed it markone1blog, the politicians should always be afraid of the voters! If not we end up where we are today, with a class of politicians who are in it for the own gain and care nothing for the people.

Sigh, good to know that the swampness is alive and well. I probably should leave that comment there, grin.

First things first. The January 6 mob was a mindless mob of frustrated people and was more than likely agitated by a bunch of Alinsky toting leftists along with some mindless cultists from the Trump camp. But it was not a threat to national security. Nor was it an armed assault. Comparing it to the bombings by Puerto Rican anarchists or 9/11 is just plain silly.

But on to the point. The term “Republican” is meaningless as is the term “conservative” unless prefaced with a specific focus. Many in the Republican Party only want to conserve the caste system currently dominating political and corporate life. They want the body of the people remain silent in their cubicles until called upon to pull the ‘R’ lever much like the dems call upon those trapped by the War on Poverty to pull the ‘D’ lever on command. Any attempt to break out of that paradigm is viewed as subversive. These political types are better cast as Elitists or Corporatists. Take your pic. They need to protect the likes of Hunter Biden and Hillary because in the face of their opponents they see themselves. Should a Biden or Clinton go down they see themselves in the docket. In their view of American society we are all equal but some are more equal than others. If you are not of the politically or economically connected classes they you just take a plea deal, do your time and hope for gummint gravy at the other end. Liberty is gone.

So those of us who wave liberty leaning and libertarian banners and rail against big government/corporate/media complexes are cast as bomb throwers. Vilify the opposition so you don’t have to deal with those infectious opposing views. Will is famous for this kind of Alinsky smear. You see, Big Dem and Big Rep are actually on the same team. Their cheers might sound different but their objectives are not. WE are all equal. Some are just more equal than others.
