Joe Biden and his National Emergency Nonsense

Biden who can’t even fix the baby formula issue with his Executive Order as a National Emergency is going to usher in the Green New Deal for all of us. One of the most offensive players in his bevy of Marxist’s collaborators is this piece of work Gina McCarthy.

President Joe Biden climate advisor Gina McCarthy said President Joe Biden will use “every power available” to get rid of fossil fuels, during a segment on CNN’s “New Day” with Kaitlan Collins, John Berman, and Brianna Keilar on 7/20/2022

And with that this doddering old fool:

Politico reports:

Invoking a national emergency over climate change would enable President Joe Biden to unleash sweeping actions to restrain greenhouse gas production — such as banning U.S. crude oil exports, ending offshore drilling or speeding the manufacturing of electric vehicles.

But some of those steps would be politically explosive, and could even prove ruinous to his party’s fortunes by sending gasoline prices soaring. Others would threaten to alienate European allies looking to U.S. fuel supplies to ease their dependence on Russia. And any executive actions Biden takes would run the risk of falling to the same conservative Supreme Court that has already hobbled his regulators’ ability to rein in carbon pollution.

Thank goodness for the Donald that at least got us a Supreme court that gave the U.S.A. a bit of time remaining.

Gina McCarthy Reacts to Supreme Court EPA Ruling: ‘We Have To Find Creative Ways Around It’

White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy joins Andrea Mitchell to respond to the Supreme Court’s decision to restrict the EPA’s authority to limit climate pollution by power plants, sharing what can be still done at the federal and state level to combat the climate crisis.

Politico reports:

Fallout from the Supreme Court’s attack on federal climate regulations is spreading throughout the executive branch, creating legal uncertainty for rules on topics as far afield as abortion, immigration and even amateur auto racing.

Opponents of federal actions on pipelines, asbestos, nuclear waste, corporate disclosures and highway planning are also seizing on the logic of the court’s June 30 decision, which imposed sharp limits on the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases.

Imagine if climate change used to be called seasons and it’s totally normal, safe, and changes four times a year.

Here is this absurd man telling us total nonsense.

Biden’s killing the XL pipeline real winner was not the environment

By revoking the Keystone pipeline permit, Biden is destroying 11,000 jobs and roughly $2 billion in wages. Democrats couldn’t even get through Day 1 without killing jobs for middle class Americans. But think again if you think it had anything to do with the environmentalists. No, he is paying back those who funded his inauguration, funded his campaign and otherwise filled his coffers

Warren Buffett’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe LLC is among U.S. and Canadian railroads that stand to benefit from the Biden administration’s decision to pull TransCanada Corp. (TRP)’s Keystone XL oil pipeline permit.

With modest expansion, railroads can handle all new oil produced in western Canada through 2030, according to an analysis of the Keystone proposal by the U.S. State Department(2015). Chuckle time!

“Whatever people bring to us, we’re ready to haul,” Krista York-Wooley, a spokeswoman for Burlington Northern, a unit of Buffett’s Omaha, Nebraska-based Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK/A), said in an interview. If Keystone XL “doesn’t happen, we’re here to haul.” From: Bloomberg

The keystone pipeline is actually just one of several oil sands pipelines targeted by the Rockefeller Brother’s Fund. Ezra Levant calls it industrial sabotage and, based on their own Power Point, that certainly seems an apt description.Found and more at: Heritage.  From my post Rockefeller Fund sabotages Keystone pipeline approval. The Rockefeller Brother’s Fund in a coordinated, 4-year, $28 million dollar campaign was on the march to defeat it.

While Rockefeller and other groups are actively working to dismantle Canada’s energy production infrastructure, polling shows that Canadians overwhelmingly support oil pipeline projects. And for good reason: the energy sector employs 230,000 Canadians, and represents nearly 7 percent of the country’s economy.

All to keep the price of energy up.

Side note on Canadian National Railroad (CN) – Bill Gates is their biggest investor.

The Keystone Pipeline project was expected to create tens of thousands of high paying jobs in the oil industry. The project itself would create 20,000 construction jobs. (From a post back in November, 2015)

Why here is good old Warren Buffet as he makes his millions off of his Railroads.  Lets all sing along with Warren as he wishes China a great new year working on the Railroads. Throw in the Rockefellers as well.

But this will no doubt is just the beginning of making sure we are no longer energy independent. Recall this little number?

Wes Clark Jr knees and apologizes to Native Americans over pipeline

Long after permits were given to complete the pipeline the Army Corp rescinds the permit on the altar of perceived P.C. I bet this has the Chinese shaking in their boots to learn how hard it is to get the military to back down. But let us not stop there. We have Wes Clark Jr and his band of bowers, kneeling and apologizing. What is it with this prostrating oneself? Here tis:

Wes Clark Jr., the son of retired U.S. Army general and former supreme commander at NATO Wesley Clark Sr., was part of a group of veterans at Standing Rock one day after the Army Corps announcement. The veterans joined Native American tribal elders in a ceremony celebrating the Dakota Access Pipeline easement denial.

Lakota spiritual leader and medicine man Chief Leonard Crow Dog and Standing Rock Sioux spokeswoman Phyllis Young were among several Native elders who spoke, thanking the veterans for standing in solidarity during the protests.

The swamp is very happy indeed and looks forward to a bright future.

Was the Government internet ‘Kill Switch’ just tested?

At 3pmET yesterday, it appears that Google Cloud (affecting Gmail, YouTube, SnapChat, Instagram, and Facebook among others) mysteriously (and almost unprecedently) went offline.

This brought to mind Obama’s Executive Order just in case you think this is a tin foil hat thing. Congress had big plans too.

Incident began at 2019-06-02 12:25 (all times are US/Pacific).

Jun 02, 20 12:25 We are investigating an issue with Google Compute Engine. We will provide more information by Sunday, 2019-06-02 12:45 US/Pacific.

One Google insider explains (via YCombinator):

I work on Google Cloud (but disclaimer, I’m on vacation and so not much use to you!).

We’re having what appears to be a serious networking outage. It’s disrupting everything, including unfortunately the tooling we usually use to communicate across the company about outages.

There are backup plans, of course, but I wanted to at least come here to say: you’re not crazy, nothing is lost (to those concerns downthread), but there is serious packet loss at the least. You’ll have to wait for someone actually involved in the incident to say more.

The internet is having a very bad day… Zero Hedge  and more of the details and a tip of the hat.

If you think this couldn’t happen, check back at what Obama and Congress had in mind a few years ago.

Presidential powers over the Internet and telecommunications were laid out in a U.S. Senate bill in 2009, which proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet. But that legislation was not included in the Cybersecurity Act of 2012. I caught some discussion of this at the time, and the rationale was that  “misinformation” may need to be curtailed. Where did I hear that before? Anyone still wondering where we are headed with this?

President Obama signed an executive order the week of July 12, 2012 that could give him control over the web in times of emergency.

According to The Verge, critics of the order are concerned with Section 5.2, which is a lengthy part outlining how telecommunications and the Internet are controlled. It states that the Secretary of Homeland Security will “oversee the development, testing, implementation, and sustainment” of national security and emergency preparedness measures on all systems, including private “non-military communications networks.” According to The Verge, critics say this gives Obama the on/off switch to the Web.

The order, known as the, “Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions,” exists to hand over full control of communications and the internet to certain government authorities in times of natural disaster and security emergencies.

The wording for the executive order is of course lengthy and uses politician language, but the part worth pointing out is in section 5.2. It is in this section that the order states that Homeland Security will be able to monitor and control all non-military forms of communications in times of extreme measures, which is essentially giving the White House the on/off switch to the internet, according to some critics.

You can read more about the executive order, which still had 30 days before it became a law, over at CNET and The Verge. If you want to check out the order in its entirety, go to the White House press page.

It was a good day in the swamp.

Bonus:

Executive Order — National Defense Resources Preparedness

In a nutshell, it’s the blueprint for Peacetime Martial Law and it gives the president the power to take just about anything deemed necessary for “National Defense”, whatever they decide that is. It’s peacetime, because as the title of the order says, it’s for “Preparedness”.

Quote:

Sec. 201. Priorities and Allocations Authorities. (a) The authority of the President conferred by section 101 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2071, to require acceptance and priority performance of contracts or orders (other than contracts of employment) to promote the national defense over performance of any other contracts or orders, and to allocate materials, services, and facilities as deemed necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense, is delegated to the following agency heads:(1) the Secretary of Agriculture with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer;(2) the Secretary of Energy with respect to all forms of energy;(3) the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to health resources;(4) the Secretary of Transportation with respect to all forms of civil transportation;(5) the Secretary of Defense with respect to water resources; and(6) the Secretary of Commerce with respect to all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials

Obama’s friday’s dump – Executive order on drone policy

I wondered what the news dump would be this Friday before the Fourth. We have it in the headline President Obama’s Executive Order on Pre/Post Airstrike Policies …

It’s intent was to lay out “best practices.” A sterile approach to the one way Obama gets his head into killing off bad guys.

According to Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the authors of Double Down: Game Change 2012

“Turns out I’m really good at killing people,” Obama said quietly, “Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine.”Al-Awlaki’s 16-year-old son, Abdulrahman, who was an American citizen, was killed in a separate drone strike two weeks after his father.

“My grandson was killed by his own government,” the teenager’s grandfather Nasser al-Awlaki wrote in a New York Times op-ed in July.

It’s been well reported that Obama and his top minions have a so called “kill list” of which he takes a particular interest. The question is where does it start and where does it stop? The issue of his killing Americans abroad brought a fire storm, and does he have the authority to kill Americans. Here. On U.S. soil?

Finally, we get no information when he chooses to assassinate a targeted named individual. I have no problem using drones in the field of battle. But how far do we want to go with sending drones into countries we have not declared war upon, and kill. And we do kill a lot of civilians as we go about this task. How would you like looking up and seeing bombs raining down from  a drone sent to us by Mexico? Just saying. So the news you will see about this story will be the kill numbers, and will be hotly debated. I will leave you with this clip. Think about it.

FBI Director: I have to check to see if Obama can kill citizens on U.S. soil January 26, 2013

FBI Director Robert Mueller on Wednesday said he would have to go back and check with the Department of Justice whether Attorney General Eric Holder’s “three criteria” for the targeted killing of Americans also applied to Americans inside the U.S.
Pressed by House lawmakers about a recent speech in which Holder described the legal justification for assassination, Mueller, who was attending a hearing on his agency’s budget, did not say without qualification that the three criteria could not be applied inside the U.S.
“I have to go back. Uh, I’m not certain whether that was addressed or not,” Mueller said when asked by Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ga., about a distinction between domestic and foreign targeting. Graves followed up asking whether “from a historical perspective,” the federal government has “the ability to kill a U.S. citizen on United States soil or just overseas.”
“I’m going to defer.

Will the CDC activate emergency measures with Ebola outbreak?

We saw this coming didn’t we? Why are we allowing “visitors” from countries with this disease to come here right now? It has been reported the victim was a foreign National. Of course we have to respect his/her HIPPA right of confidentiality so we won’t get much information. Just in time for the fall election. I encourage everyone to look at the Heritage Foundation link regarding Model State Emergency Health Powers Act. For those who think it is just the tin foil hat crowd that is worried. Here we go:

“Quarantine is used to separate and restrict the movement of well persons who may have been exposed to a communicable disease to see if they become ill. These people may have been exposed to a disease and do not know it, or they may have the disease butdo not show symptoms,” states the CDC.

Quarantine can also help limit the spread of communicable disease.

Last month, former FDA official Scott Gottlieb, M.D. wrote in Forbes that the CDC will invoke powers to “hold a healthy person against his will” in the event of an Ebola outbreak, warning that the feds may assume “too much jurisdiction to detain people involuntarily,” leading to “spooky scenarios where people could be detained for long periods, merely on a suspicion they might have been exposed to some pathogen. And forced to submit to certain medical interventions to gain their freedom.”

An executive order signed by President Obama at the end of July also allows for the “apprehension, detention, or conditional release of individuals to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of suspected communicable diseases.”

The executive order, titled Revised List of Quarantinable Communicable Diseases, amends executive order 13295, passed by George W. Bush in April 2003, which allows for the, “apprehension, detention, or conditional release of individuals to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of suspected communicable diseases.”

The amendment signed by Obama replaces subsection (b) of the original Bush executive order which referred only to SARS.

In addition, under the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act, public health authorities and governors would be given expanded police powers to seize control of communications devices, public and private property, as well as a host of other draconian measures in the event of a public health emergency.

Describing the legislation as a “threat to fundamental rights,” the Heritage Foundation summarized a list of ways the law would be applied in the event of a public health emergency being declared. When the legislation was introduced, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons warned that it “could turn governors into dictators.”

Obama’s latest Executive Order bans Import of Russian-made AK 47

While we were looking the other way, Obama did not let this latest crisis go to waste in attacking our Second Amendment. Amazing how his devilish minions are always at the ready. Why not use the Ukrainian crisis and about 300 dead. This is really going to put Putin back on his heels. Our latest Friday “dump.” Note he uses the“National emergency powers” he believes he has. Here we go:

Outlaws  import of Russian-made AK-47 rifles with stroke of his unconstitutional pen

ak47

According to a Presidential Executive Order issued Wednesday, the importation of AKs manufactured by theKalashnikov Concern in Izhmash, Russia has been banned.

This includes the popular “Saiga” line of rifles and shotguns.

The sanctions were taken because of Russia’s aggression toward the Ukraine. Russian banks and energy companies were also targeted.

To be clear, the executive order does not affect Izhmash or Saiga firearms already in this country. This is not an “assault weapons” ban. Instead, it halts the importation of firearms from the Izhmash-based firm.

The news was released without fanfare, when the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added Kalashnikov Concern and other Russian businesses to its “Specially Designated Nationals” or “SDN” sanctions list.

Obama exploited the conflict in Ukraine to target the importation of the popular AK line of firearms manufactured by Kalashnikov Concern in Izhmash, Russia. The unconstitutional ban includes the Saiga line of rifles and shotguns.

The OFAC, according to its website, “administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries and regimes, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States.”

The criminalization of an entire line of foreign manufactured firearms is possible under “national emergency powers” and there is no appeal process.

“Many of the sanctions are based on United Nations and other international mandates, are multilateral in scope, and involve close cooperation with allied governments,” according to the Treasury Department.

In a statement on their website issued early Thursday, Kalashnikov Concern noted that the sanctions will hurt U.S. consumers.

“It should be noted that the production of ‘Kalashnikov’ in the U.S. enjoys high demand, pre-order products civilian three times the annual volume of deliveries. Thus, taken in relation to ‘Kalashnikov’ sanctions the U.S. government go against the interests of American consumers,” the statement reads.”

It was founded in 1807, and exports arms and tools to 27 countries, including:  USA, UK, Germany, Norway, Italy, Canada, Kazakhstan and Thailand.

20 AL-JAZEERA journalists to face trial on terrorism charges in Egypt

When reading this I could only think of an old blog I had referred to the other day when good ole bro Malik Obama was settling into Yemen. No doubt our new semi-ambassador. While decrying that Egypt was kicking out the Muslim brotherhood and not following the “Democratic” process and accepting the election, our boy Obama was happy to let the Democratic process turn to dust in Yemen.

Obama’s personal role in a journalist’s imprisonment in Yemen:

Abdulelah Haider Shaye helped expose deadly US misbehavior in Yemen — and now the president won’t let him go free.

But his newest article – describing President Obama’s personal, direct role in ensuring the ongoing imprisonment of a Yemeni journalist  – may be his most important one yet; even for those inured to the abuses of the Obama administration, it’s nothing short of infuriating.

As we now know, on December 17, 2009, President Obama ordered an air attack — using Tomahawk cruise missiles and cluster bombs — on the village of al Majala in Yemen’s southern Abyan province; the strike ended the lives of 14 women and 21 children. At the time, the Yemeni government outright lied about the attack, falsely claiming that it was Yemen’s air force which was responsible.

Now, An Executive order seeks to punish U.S. citizens even for “indirectly” obstructing dictatorial rule in Yemen

Salon:

There seems to be little question that the Obama administration is devoted to imposing dictatorial order on Yemen through the use of force and liberty abridgment. As Scahill previously reported, Obama has played a direct personal role in the ongoing imprisonment of a Yemeni journalist who committed the crime of documenting thelarge number of civilian deaths from a U.S. cluster bomb attack on his country as well as exposing the joint lies of the Yemeni and U.S. Government. The latest U.S. drone strike in Yemen yesterday, even according to Yemeni officials, killed more civilians than alleged “militants.” The bombing campaign in Yemen now increasingly resemblesthe one conducted in Pakistan, though Yemen saw more drone strikes this month than any previous month in Pakistan.

Our imperial president decreed another executive order that should be making headlines, but of course, merely moves forward his agenda of limiting free speech. In a wonderfully written piece by Salon, the tale is told as to the objective of Obama’s edict. It is well worth the full read, and gives the past Supreme Court decision that gives him the boldness to do this.

What’s most amazing about all of this is how covert it is. What percentage of Americans even know that the Obama administration is continuously bombing and killing civilians in Yemen, or that American soldiers are now on the ground there in an advisory capacity?

Here is the live link to the E.O.: – http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/05/16/executive-order-blocking-property-persons-threatening-peace-security-or-

President Obama issued an executive order last May giving the Treasury Department authority to freeze the U.S.-based assets of anyone who “obstructs” implementation of the administration-backed political transition in Yemen.

The unusual order, which administration officials said also targets U.S. citizens who engage in activity deemed to threaten Yemen’s security or political stability, is the first issued for Yemen that does not directly relate to counterterrorism.

In other words, the U.S. Government will now punish anyone who is determined — in the sole discretion of the U.S. Government — even to “indirectly” obstruct the full transition of power to President Hadi. But what if someone — a Yemeni or an American — opposes Hadi’s rule and wants to agitate for a real election in which more than one candidate runs? Is that pure political advocacy, as it appears, now prohibited by the U.S. Government, punishable by serious sanctions, on the ground that it “obstructs” the transition of power to Hadi? Can journalists who report on corruption or violence by the Hadi regime and who write Op-Eds demanding a new election be accused, as it seems, of “threatening Yemen’s political stability”?

As it does with most U.S.-compliant dictators in the region, the Obama administration has since been propping up Hadi with large amounts of money and military assistance, but it is now taking a much more extreme step to ensure he remains entrenched in power — a step that threatens not only basic liberties in Yemen but in the U.S. as well.

Jeremy Scahill, who has reported extensively from Yemen over the last year, reacted to the news of this Executive Order this morning by writing: ”This Executive Order appears to be an attack on Americans’ 1st Amendment Rights and Yemenis’ rights  Full story oover at Salon

Now the story:

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt said 20 journalists, including four foreigners, working for Al-Jazeera will face trial on charges of joining or aiding a terrorist group and endangering national security – an escalation that raised fears of a crackdown on freedom of the press.

It was the first time authorities have put journalists on trial on terrorism-related charges, suggesting authorities are expanding the reach of a heavy-handed crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood since the military’s ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi on July 3.

A trial date was not set, and the full list of charges and names of defendants not yet issued. But they are known to include three men working for Al-Jazeera English – acting bureau chief Mohammed Fahmy, a Canadian-Egyptian, award-winning correspondent Peter Greste of Australia and producer Baher Mohamed, an Egyptian. The three were arrested on Dec. 29 in a raid on the hotel suites in which they were working.

Obama signs new lawless Executive Order regarding Climate change

Another Friday night news dump. Another Executive Order. Is anyone  going to stop this lawlessness? Wasting our tax money on this total nonsense to reward his cronies. Enough of this. Impeach this dictator.

At a speech at Georgetown University  in June, Mr. Obama outlined executive  actions he would take to require  government and private industry to prepare for  the effects of climate  change. Read more: Washington Times

Though laws dealing with the issue are often criticized by those who do not  ascribe to leftist environmental policies, this order is especially dangerous  because Obama completely circumvented congressional oversight in its  implementation.

The fiat decision, entitled “Preparing the United States for the Impacts of  Climate Change,” will have far-reaching effects on the lives of Americans,  despite mounting evidence that human activity has no measurable effect on the  environment.

The order says to “identify opportunities to support and encourage smarter, more climate-resilient investments by States, local communities, and tribes, including by providing incentives through agency guidance, grants, technical assistance, performance measures, safety considerations, and other programs.”

Here is the Executive Order

The task force is comprised of seven Democratic governor of states, and one Republican governor of a territory, Gov. Eddie Calvo of Guam.

The Democratic governors are Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii, Jerry Brown of California, Jay Inslee of Washington state, Jack Markell of Delaware, Martin O’Malley of Maryland, Pat Quinn of Illinois and Peter Shumlin of Vermont. The task force also includes local officials, including 14 mayors, two county officials and two tribal officials.

The order also tells federal agencies to identify changes to land and water policies and regulations “to strengthen climate resilience.” Additionally, it requires federal agencies to increase the amount of information with local communities to be prepared for climate problems. The Blaze

Obama called for the creation of a “Council on Climate Change Preparedness  and Resilience,” which will be headed by officials from multiple federal  agencies, including the Council on Environmental Quality and the Office of  Science and Technology Policy.

Combating these perceived problems, according to Obama’s executive order,  “requires deliberate preparation, close cooperation, and coordinated planning by  the Federal Government, as well as by stakeholders, to facilitate Federal,  State, local, tribal, private-sector, and nonprofit-sector efforts to improve  climate preparedness and resilience.”

Obama signed Executive Order empowering Kill Switch over the Internet

On July 12, 2012 I posted the following story below. The Executive Order appeared in the Federal Register and there were 30 days for comment. There was little if any concern, and we bloggers were simply tin foil hat folks. I suggest one of the most dangerous moves Obama made. Now with the recent revelations, I thought this would be a good Sunday redo. So here we go:

Not much excitement about this apparently. So what he cannot do by Congressional action, he does by fiat. The interesting part is that his Executive Order was posted in the Federal Register.

Presidential powers over the Internet and telecommunications were laid out in a U.S. Senate bill in 2009, which proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet. But that legislation was not included in the Cybersecurity Act of 2012 earlier this year. I would ask, why must Janet Napolitano cut off private networks? I caught some discussion of this, and the rationale was that  “misinformation” may need to be curtailed. Where did I hear that before? Anyone still wondering where we are headed with this?

President Obama signed an executive order this week (July 12, 2012) that could give him control over the web in times of emergency.
