Al Jazerra E-Mails show contempt for French murder victims

Through the years I have done numerous posts concerning the administration’s determination to have Al Jazerra fill our homes via cable T.V. with their often anti-Israel pro Islamic rhetoric. While other countries are kicking them out, Egypt for one, we embrace the enemy. Even worse, our State Department under the leadership of Hillary Clinton demonstrated her naiveté at the least. Now we hear how Al Jazeera thinks about the latest terrorist attack in France. I include a few snippets of earlier posts just for a refresher. Here we go:

While citizens around the free world embraced the mantra “Je suis Charlie” to show solidarity with the murdered employees of a French satirical magazine, a top editor at a Muslim-owned news organization had a different message for his colleagues: “We are Al Jazeera.”

A leaked email from Al Jazeera English Editor and Executive Producer Salah-Aldeen Khadr used the twist on a viral phrase used around the world to show support for victims of Wednesday’s Islamist terror attack on Charlie Hebdow in Paris. The magazine was targeted for its penchant for publishing forbidden caricatures of Prophet Muhammed, which it did in addition to poking fun at other religions.

“Was this really an attack on “free speech?” Khadr asked his subordinates in the email blast. “Who is attacking free speech here exactly?

“Defending freedom of expression in the face of oppression is one thing; insisting on the right to be obnoxious and offensive just because you can is infantile,” wrote Khadr, quoting Time magazine, as he urged Al Jazeera staffers to consider that “I am Charlie” is an “alienating slogan – with us or against us type of statement – one can be anti-CH’s racism and ALSO against murdering people.”

In his latest message to the world, Al-Awlaki defends the journalists of one such “trustworthy” Muslim source, Al-Jazeera, and praises the Western media source WikiLeaks. The message, a six-minute video of his speech “A Message to the Members of the Media,” was released February 14, 2011 by the jihadi forum Shumukh Al-Islam.[4] In it, Al-Awlaki also accuses the U.S. and the West of using liberty and freedom of expression as a pretext to take over the world’s resources and treasures, and to oppress and deprive people of their rights. He said that whenever anyone tries to expose “the truth about the U.S. and its agents,”

While many are wringing their hands regarding the rise of an increased number of extreme Muslims here in the United States, it was our own government that was promoting the propaganda machine Al Jazerra right into our homes.  Let us not let Hillary Clinton off the hook in promoting the cable network, and of course Al Gore who sold his network to them. Yes, our prisons are supposed to be breeding grounds for radicalizing individuals in this faith. But no one is holding our government accountable. After the new update, I will take a walk down memory lane with links to a couple of old posts including a clip of Hillary.

An Al Jazeera TV host, writing in the Qatari media, has called the Western coalition campaign against Islamic State a “new crusade,” reminiscent of the one that toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003.

The Al-Watan newspaper ran an op-ed on Sunday by Al Jazeera host Ahmed Mansour, who said that the Western media coverage on late has focused on “their industry” of making enemies, namely the Islamic State.

This is being done just as it was in the past regarding al-Qaida, the Taliban, Saddam Hussein, and Osama bin Laden, he said.

Mansour accused the “extreme Right” in Britain of “corresponding” to the Islamic State in terms of extremism.

And just as US president George W. Bush referred to the war on terror as a “crusade,” it is clear now that “the story is not the Islamic State, but the real story is what is happening is a new crusade dressed in new clothing,” he wrote.

This article follows the Qatari position that supports Islamist movements throughout the region, including those in Syria seeking to topple President Bashar Assad.

20 AL-JAZEERA journalists to face trial on terrorism charges in Egypt

When reading this I could only think of an old blog I had referred to the other day when good ole bro Malik Obama was settling into Yemen. No doubt our new semi-ambassador. While decrying that Egypt was kicking out the Muslim brotherhood and not following the “Democratic” process and accepting the election, our boy Obama was happy to let the Democratic process turn to dust in Yemen.

Obama’s personal role in a journalist’s imprisonment in Yemen:

Abdulelah Haider Shaye helped expose deadly US misbehavior in Yemen — and now the president won’t let him go free.

But his newest article – describing President Obama’s personal, direct role in ensuring the ongoing imprisonment of a Yemeni journalist  – may be his most important one yet; even for those inured to the abuses of the Obama administration, it’s nothing short of infuriating.

As we now know, on December 17, 2009, President Obama ordered an air attack — using Tomahawk cruise missiles and cluster bombs — on the village of al Majala in Yemen’s southern Abyan province; the strike ended the lives of 14 women and 21 children. At the time, the Yemeni government outright lied about the attack, falsely claiming that it was Yemen’s air force which was responsible.

Now, An Executive order seeks to punish U.S. citizens even for “indirectly” obstructing dictatorial rule in Yemen

Salon:

There seems to be little question that the Obama administration is devoted to imposing dictatorial order on Yemen through the use of force and liberty abridgment. As Scahill previously reported, Obama has played a direct personal role in the ongoing imprisonment of a Yemeni journalist who committed the crime of documenting thelarge number of civilian deaths from a U.S. cluster bomb attack on his country as well as exposing the joint lies of the Yemeni and U.S. Government. The latest U.S. drone strike in Yemen yesterday, even according to Yemeni officials, killed more civilians than alleged “militants.” The bombing campaign in Yemen now increasingly resemblesthe one conducted in Pakistan, though Yemen saw more drone strikes this month than any previous month in Pakistan.

Our imperial president decreed another executive order that should be making headlines, but of course, merely moves forward his agenda of limiting free speech. In a wonderfully written piece by Salon, the tale is told as to the objective of Obama’s edict. It is well worth the full read, and gives the past Supreme Court decision that gives him the boldness to do this.

What’s most amazing about all of this is how covert it is. What percentage of Americans even know that the Obama administration is continuously bombing and killing civilians in Yemen, or that American soldiers are now on the ground there in an advisory capacity?

Here is the live link to the E.O.: – http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/05/16/executive-order-blocking-property-persons-threatening-peace-security-or-

President Obama issued an executive order last May giving the Treasury Department authority to freeze the U.S.-based assets of anyone who “obstructs” implementation of the administration-backed political transition in Yemen.

The unusual order, which administration officials said also targets U.S. citizens who engage in activity deemed to threaten Yemen’s security or political stability, is the first issued for Yemen that does not directly relate to counterterrorism.

In other words, the U.S. Government will now punish anyone who is determined — in the sole discretion of the U.S. Government — even to “indirectly” obstruct the full transition of power to President Hadi. But what if someone — a Yemeni or an American — opposes Hadi’s rule and wants to agitate for a real election in which more than one candidate runs? Is that pure political advocacy, as it appears, now prohibited by the U.S. Government, punishable by serious sanctions, on the ground that it “obstructs” the transition of power to Hadi? Can journalists who report on corruption or violence by the Hadi regime and who write Op-Eds demanding a new election be accused, as it seems, of “threatening Yemen’s political stability”?

As it does with most U.S.-compliant dictators in the region, the Obama administration has since been propping up Hadi with large amounts of money and military assistance, but it is now taking a much more extreme step to ensure he remains entrenched in power — a step that threatens not only basic liberties in Yemen but in the U.S. as well.

Jeremy Scahill, who has reported extensively from Yemen over the last year, reacted to the news of this Executive Order this morning by writing: ”This Executive Order appears to be an attack on Americans’ 1st Amendment Rights and Yemenis’ rights  Full story oover at Salon

Now the story:

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt said 20 journalists, including four foreigners, working for Al-Jazeera will face trial on charges of joining or aiding a terrorist group and endangering national security – an escalation that raised fears of a crackdown on freedom of the press.

It was the first time authorities have put journalists on trial on terrorism-related charges, suggesting authorities are expanding the reach of a heavy-handed crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood since the military’s ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi on July 3.

A trial date was not set, and the full list of charges and names of defendants not yet issued. But they are known to include three men working for Al-Jazeera English – acting bureau chief Mohammed Fahmy, a Canadian-Egyptian, award-winning correspondent Peter Greste of Australia and producer Baher Mohamed, an Egyptian. The three were arrested on Dec. 29 in a raid on the hotel suites in which they were working.

It is a Saturday, and thought it might be good to give you an update on some older news. Tell your cable company no, not one dime to them from our subscription. They are in negotiations now.So let’s check this out:

And it was the most prominent new programmer at this week’s annual confab looking to establish itself in cable’s mainstream. “We’re having encouraging meetings” with distributors including Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, and Cox, Al Jazeera Media Network’s international operations executive director Ehab Al Shihabi tells me. He could use some deals: At this point AJA should reach about 49M pay TV homes at launch, mostly subscribers with Comcast, DirecTV, Dish Network, AT&T U-verse, and Verizon FiOS.

Why would the person who Barack Obama appointed to be the Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, Juliette Kayyem, advocate American cable companies carry the channel-a channel that cannot help but inflame tensions and anger and one that is not known for unbiased accuracy.

Kayyem comes from a Lebanese-American family and was the first Arab-American inidvidual to work as a homeland security adviser on the state level.DHS, “Secretary Napolitano Names Juliette Kayyem as Assistant Secretary,” March 5, 2009(1)She was also the only Arab-American to serve on the National Commission on Terrorism, which examined “the changing threat of international terrorism” from 1999 to 2000.Los Angeles Times, “Arab American named to US terorr panel,” July 31, 1999(2)Los Angeles Times, “Arab American named to US terorr panel,” July 31, 1999National Commission on Terrorism, 2000(3) Washington Post Who runs Gov

We have enough terror apologists in the media already without an entire station devoted to obscuring the truth being beamed into America’s homes.

Set to start in earnest this August.

“we will cover celebrities and how they’re attached to Main Street. They are doing a lot for their communities and that has not been highlighted.” And we appreciate their main stream conservative views

From an op-ed by Muslim Kayyem in the Boston Globe:

FOR THE past few weeks, a parallel plot line to the revolutions in the Arab world has been playing out in the media. With rare exceptions, the largest American cable and satellite providers simply do not provide viewers access to Al Jazeera English, the cousin to the powerful Qatar-based world news network. AJE has launched a full-fledged campaign – including advertisements quoting, of all people, major US news figures – to convince cable carriers to open their programming. But most have declined: Burlington, Vt., is the closest city to Boston where viewers can see the network on television.

AJE’s battle with the cable carriers is major news in the Middle East. Not carrying the network sends a message to the Arab world about America’s willingness to accept information, unfiltered, from the very region we spend so much time talking about. These television wars began not in Tunisia or Egypt, but in Iraq.

So it looks like Al-Jazeera is coming our way. Soon on our cable networks. Everyone agrees. Obama, Clinton, Russia and now jihadist Cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki. Be sure and watch the Vid as we can see Hillary starting to touch the third rail. Wow.

Over the past two years, Yemeni-American jihadist cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki has emerged as a key leader of Al-Qaeda. On February 9, 2011, Michael Leiter, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, told a Congressional hearing that the threat of Al-Qaeda’s central body, which is led by Osama bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri, has been surpassed by that of Al-Awlaki. He said: “I actually consider Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), with Al-Awlaki as a leader within that organization, probably the most significant risk.”

We Americans forget the impact of propaganda the world uses from Statements made by Hillary Clinton. Her recent statements at a hearing last week are big news on the world stage. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton believes that the role of the United States on the international arena is weakening. America, Clinton believes, has lost the information war with China and Russia. Therefore, the US administration must not cut the spending on propaganda.

“America is in an “information war and we are losing the war,” she stated appearing before a US Foreign Policy Priorities committee. Thirty million dollars is not enough for propaganda, she claimed. Clinton is certain that one should not concentrate too much on the Internet, because the majority of people still learn the news on television and radio.

According to Clinton, the USA’s major competitors are Al Jazeera, CCTV (China) and Russia Today. Al Jazeera is the ultimate leader, Clinton said. Here is our earlier story Obama shuts down voice of America to China

Mrs. Clinton did not specify possible financial amounts. It was obvious, though, that she was not satisfied with several tens of millions of dollars scheduled in the budget to celebrate victory over competitors on the Internet.
