Iran’s Rouhani Makes First Visit Ever To Iraq To “Bypass Unjust US Sanctions”

Cable TCM’s showing of “Lawrence of Arabia” recently reminded us of the eternal quagmire of the MIddle East. When I saw this headline out of Zero Hedge I could only feel sadness. How much blood and treasure we have given.  Yet, in today’s news we hear nothing. Only the latest antics of three women plus Sarsour, roaming Congress, Muslim supporting women – who would destroy us from within. Add Israel as well. And the Kurds? We leave then to their own devices one more time.

Rouhani

What Iran is billing as President Hassan Rouhani’s first “historic” and landmark visit to Iraq, both the United States and Israel are seeing as a provocative move to solidify Iran’s influence over Baghdad.

Just prior to arriving in Iraq Monday, Rouhani said on state television that his country is determined to “strengthen its brotherly ties” with neighboring Iraq. It’s expected that the three-day visit will result in a wide range of economic deals in fields such as energy, transport, and agriculture; however, as Israel’s Haaretz writes based on a Reuters report:

The visit is a strong message to the United States and its regional allies that Iran still dominates Baghdad, a key arena for rising tension between Washington and Tehran.

Over the past year immense tension has grown between allies Baghdad and Washington over Iraq’s reliance on Iran-backed Iraqi Shiite paramilitary units to wage war against ISIS and other Sunni terror groups.

As Al Jazeera notes:

Since Rouhani’s election in 2013, Iraq has relied on Iranian paramilitary support to fight ISIL following the group’s capture of the Iraqi city of Mosul and other territories in both Iraq and Syria.

Now, with the armed fighters facing a final territorial defeat in the Syrian village of Baghouz, Iran is looking for Iraq’s continued support as it faces a maximalist pressure campaign by President Donald Trump after his decision to withdraw the United States from Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers.

But this is ultimately the lasting legacy of Bush and Cheney’s 2003 regime change war and toppling of Saddam Hussein: they overthrew a Sunni Baath secular dictator in exchange for entrenching pro-Iran influence in Baghdad, to the delight of the Ayatollahs.

Washington can now behold the fruits of its neocon interventionist labor as Iran’s president is granted a hero’s welcome in the heart of Baghdad (this after Iran and Iraq were very recently bitter enemies)  all the while US officials in the same city will look on helplessly from the sidelines.

Ilan Omar Used Foreign Propaganda Script When Grilling Elliot Abrams

Home Sweet Home
Mogadishu

The only question I had of Rep, Omar was who gave you your attack points at the time of the Foreign Relations Committee hearing with Diplomat Abrams?

You seemed to have a wealth of decades old information considering you were still wandering the cesspool city called Mogadishu when the events you were discussing occurred.

A comparison of texts shows that Rep. Ilan Omar cribbed from Qatar’s state-owned Al Jazeera to script her diatribe against senior American diplomat Elliott Abrams.

Al Jazeera ran a story, “Who is Elliott Abrams, US special envoy for Venezuela?” on February 12. It had no byline.

Omar recycled the story in her scripted attack against Abrams at a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on February 13. The video of the hearing shows that Omar did not publicly inform the Committee that she was quoting from a foreign state-funded propaganda source.

The key themes from the Al Jazeera article match with Omar’s comments to Abrams, and appear in the same order. Some of the phrasing is similar and sometimes identical. Here is one for comparison:

First theme: Helping Nicaraguan contras and pardoned by Bush

Al Jazeera: “In 1991, he [Abrams] pleaded guilty to two counts of misleading Congress about the Reagan administration’s efforts to help the Nicaraguan guerrillas (known as the Contras) during a period when Congress had banned such aid. He was later pardoned by George HW Bush.”

Omar to Abrams: “Mr. Adams [sic], in 1991, you pleaded guilty to two counts of withholding information from Congress regarding your involvement in the Iran-Cortra [sic] affair, for which you were later pardoned by President George H. W. Bush.”

This writer, as a former graduate school professor, would have failed a student for cribbing words, facts, and narratives without citing the source. A quick check of online plagiarism detection services shows that Omar did plagiarize her material:

Just who is Rashida Tlaib – of the vulgar impeachment remark fame?

By now most of us have heard of Rashida Tlaib, famous for her vulgar impeachment screed made recently. But just who is this piece of work? No surprise really. A Soros sponsored anti-Semitic Muslim for Congress gal. Let’s take a quick look. No doubt just a beginning.

Congresswoman-elect Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) did not disclose the name of the source of funds for a fellowship that was paid by liberal billionaire George Soros—as required by the House ethics committee—and also disclosed a lesser amount than she received, according to a review of tax and financial disclosure forms. (She of course will get a pass.)

The Washington Free Beacon obtained the most recent copies of tax forms for a number of Soros’s organizations, including the Open Society Institute, the legal name for the Open Society Foundations, the entity in which Soros pushes millions in funding to a number of liberal causes and organizations.

An expenditure of $85,307 to Rashida Tlaib in Detroit, Mich., from 2017 is shown on page 97 of the 321-page report to “increase involvement of disenfranchised urban communities of color with their local governance process by creating a community benefits strategy for equitable development and creating a leadership training for impacted residents focused on negotiation skills and identifying leverage at the local level.”

Tlaib did not report any income in the amount of $85,307 on financial disclosure forms submitted as she was running for office, which identified the names of the sources that provided her income in three of four cases.

However, the fourth reported source of earned income is marked as a “Leadership in Government Fellowship,” but does not identify who provided the payment.

A press release from 2016 shows that Tlaib was chosen for a “leadership in government” fellowship by Soros’s Open Society Foundations along with seven other individuals.

Tlaib was paid $139,873 by Soros’s group in 2016, tax forms show. Between 2016 and 2017, Tlaib received a total of $225,180

Linda Sasour Skypes into High School about Women’s March and Radical Agenda

What a way to start the New Year. Indoctrinating our kids, This from Pamela Geller.

Sarsour has no loyalty to America. On the contrary, her loyalty is to Islamic triumphalism and the imposition of sharia on the only country in history that is based on individual rights and freedom. Sarsour has but one loyalty: to jihad. And this Pennsylvania high school is treating her as if she is some sort of hero of social justice and women’s rights. If her beloved sharia were implemented, these high school students would quickly discover what her vision of women’s rights is really all about.

We have much to do to protect our kids. More  here

The Mexican Border – a No Man’s Land

Basically, a no-man’s land

By Mustang

Mr. Jim Chilton is 89-years old. He’s a fifth-generation cattle rancher

who, in spite of his age, still runs the Chilton Ranch at Arivaca, Arizona. It is a 50,000-acre spread outside Tucson, much of which abuts the Mexican border. Chilton’s truck can be frequently seen heading in one direction or another on the ranch, but no matter on what day or what time of day, Mr. Chilton is likely to spot armed members of a dangerous Mexican drug cartel moving with impunity along a favored illegal-immigration track. “It’s still the wild west out here,” he said.

Chilton’s only barrier to illegal activity from Mexico is a three-strand barbed-wire fence, which is about as effective as screen-doors on a submarine. The rancher estimates that around 4,000 drug-packers cut across through his land each year. But its more than drugs —it is also illegal immigrants. They’re not just from Mexico; they come from all around the world. What makes his land dangerous to both himself and his wife is that these illegal aliens are desperate to seek out a new life in the United States, at the taxpayer’s expense.

A desperate man is a dangerous man. Jim said, “You used to get old fashioned coyotes who would bring people across. They’d get $200 or $300 from each of ‘em, the fee for guiding them into the US. Now the operation is run by a cartel. They have scouts on top of our mountains. They charge about $3,000 for Mexicans, $7,000 to $9,000 for Central Americans, and between $25,000 and $75,000 for Asians. Most of the people coming through are just looking for work; they come from Guatemala, Honduras, and other Central American states. We’ve also had Iraqis come through, people from states in the Middle East, but most of the arrests made by the Border Patrol are from Guatemala.”

Chilton —who manages the ranch with his wife— describes the illegal activity as a national security issue. He believes that the border wall proposed by President Trump should be built because with the nearest Border Patrol station 80 miles away, there is no security for the Chilton’s. “It looks like the government has given up the fight,” he said.

Chilton has long warned the US government that the few strands of fence that separate Mexico from the United States is overwhelmingly inefficient keeping anyone out of the United States. “The lack of a serious barrier, combined with the Border Patrol’s enforcement decisions have effectively ceded miles of US territory to the Sinaloa Cartel, which stations guards on the mountains overlooking the ranch.” It was precisely this lack of barriers and few border agents that resulted in the ambush of a federal officer.

Drugs and illegal immigrants are a lucrative business, and according to Mr. Chilton, armed members of the drug cartel in Mexico controls much of his land. “They carefully time their movements to avoid being seen. The Border Patrol don’t come out here —they’ve left this area basically available to the cartel. It’s basically a no-man’s land.” Federal officials labeled the ambush as “A shooting incident,” but according to Mr. Chilton, if it wasn’t for the agent’s bullet-proof vest, he wouldn’t be alive today.

Mr. Chilton opined that the shooting could have been averted had the government taken our border security more seriously. “President Trump needs to complete the wall and fill the 25-mile gap and move the Border Patrol to the international boundary rather than 80 miles from the boundary.”

Brandon Judd, a Border Patrol agent (who also serves as President of the National Border Patrol Council) said that the area of the Chilton Ranch “is one of our most dangerous stretches on the border. It cries out for Mr. Trump’s wall,” he added. “If we had a wall in this location, the shooting would never have taken place.”

In a statement to the Washington Times, Judd said, “Unfortunately, our agency is still run by the Obama holdovers that gave us the failed open-border policies and operations of the past. Until serious changes are made, we will not be able to secure the border with those that refused to embrace the president’s vision on border security.”

Personally, I think that if Mr. Trump isn’t serious about border security, he ought to say so. If he is serious about it, then by all means —let’s take Mr. Chilton’s and Mr. Judd’s advice to heart and build the damn thing,

Kashoggi – Have you had enough of it?

The American Press, Politicians, and Fairness

Air Force officials announced the next chapter in a partnership with the Royal Saudi Air Force

Have you had enough?  I have.  It is time for news reporting, harping, and commentary as it relates to the murder of Jamal Kashoggi to end.  Without making any judgment about Kashoggi as a person, how is his demise at the hands of the Saudi government any business of the United States —particularly since the alleged crime was committed in Turkey, within the Saudi Embassy, and not within any US territory or facility?

I am no fan of the Saudis (or any other Middle Eastern cesspool), but I have to wonder if our idiot journalists and equally foolish politicians are aware that every Islamic culture in the world is barbaric.

These are people who continue living in the 7th Century.  Now then, after twenty or more years of watching (or being aware of) the beheading of non-Moslems and/or the death by hanging of homosexuals, should anyone on the planet be surprised to learn that Saudi thugs have murdered a dissident and then dismantled his body to hide the murder?  Are we so naïve to imagine that we can hold the Saudis or any other Islamist society to a higher (Judeo-Christian) standard —or more to the point, that the Saudis even care what we think?  Well, in my view, anyone who thinks that we can hold a barbaric culture to a higher standard is unrealistic and immature.

It is true that the Kashoggi murder was outrageous —but then, many behaviors within the cloak of Islamism are.

It is not as if horrible things never happen within our own borders.  Discounting leftists, we should expect that nearly every American will agree that Kate Steinle’s murder was a tragedy of epic proportions.  We hated what happened, even though not everyone agreed that justice was served or that José Inez García Zárate (AKA Juan Francisco López-Sánchez) received a correct sentence —but the government and defendant had their day in court.  The case of Kate Steinle was an internal matter, appropriately addressed within the body of American jurisprudence, none of which is the business of foreign press, commentators, or half-baked politicians —and had any of these interests demanded of US authorities an accounting of the Steinle murder, I daresay that the American people would have been livid— and rightly so.

Whatever the events involving Kashoggi in Turkey, this is a matter between the Turks and Saudis.  If the Saudis have in fact arrested those responsible for the murder, then it is up to them to seek a just resolution —and it is none of America’s business.  It is time to let it go …

Kavanaugh hearing outrage? Try ‘Feminist’ Muslim Linda Sasour arrest!

My pick for the most outrageous moment, is the Sharia loving Sarsour getting the limelight for one nanosecond. The various reports of her notoriety in this latest escapee define her as the leader of the “Women’s Movement.”  Really? When are women going to disown this person who represents the worst of misogyny? I don’t need to list how disgusting women are treated by the Muslim faith. Not bad enough? She supports the Inman behind the bombing of the World Trade Center. I include the clip.

Linda Sarsour, the Sharia law-loving, hijab-clad leader of the Women’s March, was arrested for disorderly conduct at the Kavanaugh hearing.

Women’s March protesters probably don’t even know who they are protesting. The night Trump announced Kavanaugh as his next SCOTUS nominee, the Women’s March sent out a frantic press release to protest Kavanaugh and they forgot to fill in the empty box where his name was supposed to be printed.

Sarsour is very upset with what Brett Kavanaugh may mean to women’s rights.

She was so angry that she started screaming and was tossed from the hearing.
