The arrogance continues. Its almost beyond belief- but then, Maxine said this on MSNBC.

Many members” of Congress suffer from the same disclosure issues as Rep. Charles Rangel (D.N.Y.), one of his allies said Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) downplayed the seriousness of allegations against Rangel that he failed to disclose sources of income and pay taxes on some properties, saying that many lawmakers suffer from innocent lapses in judgment when filing mandatory financial disclosure forms.

“I want to tell you, there are many members who, if you go back over all of their records, over all of the years, you’re going to find that there were disclosures that were not made,” Waters said during an appearance on MSNBC Wednesday morning.

PHOENIX — Gov. Jan Brewer is blasting congressional plans for a national health plan, at least in part because Arizona could be forced to actually provide care for everyone the state already is supposed to be covering now.

In a letter to Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., the governor called it “incomprehensible that Congress is contemplating an enormous, unfunded entitlement mandate on the states.” Baucus plays a key role, not only as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee but as the sponsor of one of the health-reform bills being considered.

Part of Brewer’s concern is loosening eligibility standards to make more people eligible for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, the state’s Medicaid program. While the federal government picks up two-thirds of the cost, the balance is borne by state taxpayers.

But the governor said eligibility expansion is only part of the problem of what is being considered.

She said even if a national plan makes no changes in who qualifies, the legislation would require enrollment of all those who meet the income criteria, rather than leave the choice to the individuals. That, she said, would create a “woodwork effect.”

“We know that, at this point in time, with our economic issues, fiscal problems that we’re facing, that we’re looking to cut” state expenses, not add to them, she said. Brewer said that, even with the federal government providing partial financing for any national health-care plan, it is not fair for Congress to assume states will pick up the balance.

Several bills — including one crafted by Baucus — would raise that to at least $24,353, which could add another 400,000 to the rolls.

Sinema was more sympathetic to Brewer’s concerns about expanded eligibility at state expense. “That’s not fair because states don’t have the money to do that,” she said.

Brewer said she hasn’t made up her mind about whether there should be a national health-care plan.

“It is a huge, complicated issue,” and one for which she had no ready answers.

“But we know that, in these economic times, we are not in a position to have any further unfunded mandates sent down to the states,” she said.

Muslims in America – Where are the terrorists?

  The main stream media today has been reporting on the “good news”about muslims in the United States, so lets take a spin around the statistics and the reports. The first census in 2000 counted 1,209 mosques. The tally became controversial when the census announced more than 6 million Muslims were in the USA. That figure was so high it would have vaulted Islam into one of the five largest religious denominations in the country. • The Pew survey shows that there are roughly 1.4 million Muslims in America; this is in sharp contrast to the 6 to 7 million Muslims estimated by a 2001 survey (conducted by the Hartford Institute for Religious Research and co-sponsored by the Council on American Relations).

Pew based its report, “American Muslims: Mostly Middle Class and Mainstream,” from interviews with more than 1,050Muslim adults in the U.S. Hmmm

 The Pew Study on Muslims in America takes a little “reading between the lines”. First- its based on interviews with about 1000 Muslims. One wonders if they interviewed mosque attendees, or any of their new school students  they have been instituting. Immigrants account for 65 percent of the American Muslim population so they say; Arab and South Asian countries have the greatest representation in this group. Native-born Muslims comprise 35 percent of the American Muslim population; of those, 21 percent are converts to Islam.

U.S. Muslims are Middle Class and Mostly Mainstream– (it’s the Mostly that is what is of concern)

American Muslims tend to hold liberal views regarding the size and scope of government; however, they tend to be conservative in their social views. Seems to be so, when women’s faces aren’t to be revealed. Some American Muslims felt that suicide bombings could “sometimes” be justified to defend Islam.  In reality, the survey found that a very small percentage – 7 percent – of American Muslims held this view, with an even smaller group – 1 percent – believing that suicide bombings could “often” be justified.

Well isn’t that just the best news! Lets see, one percent of say, 5 million?  Or just say 1 percent of 1 million, Lets not think about it. How about 7 percent may just say, lets give it a pass- 70 virgins might be a real deal.Would they be willing to reveal a potential terrorist attack?

And then there are these troubling Islamic Schools, that are creating new hatred:

The Washington Post some time ago, revealed that one such school outside Washington, D.C., uses textbooks teaching 11th graders that “the Day of Judgment can’t come until Jesus Christ returns to Earth, breaks the cross and converts everyone to Islam, and until Muslims start attacking Jews.”

Other accredited Islamic schools in America have world maps on classroom walls that exclude Israel. Some such schools promote class discussions that portray Usama bin Laden as “simply the victim of � prejudice” against all Muslims in America.

These astonishing facts were broken by Post reporters Valerie Strauss and Emily Wax in their front-page piece, too tepidly entitled, “Where Two Worlds Collide: Muslim Schools Face Tension of Islamic, U.S. Views.”

But their reporting was anything but tepid.

Americans generally assume Islamic hate teaching resided “out there” � in Cairo or Riyadh. And yet it’s right here � in the elite Islamic Saudi Academy just outside Washington, D.C. “At stake,” the two ace reporters say, “is how the next generation of Muslims coming of age in the United States will participate in the country they live in.”

One of “Most-Wanted” Taliban Leaders Killed in Pakistan

One of the 21 most-wanted leaders in the northern district of Swat in Pakistan has been killed by the Pakistani military. Nisar, was a close aide to Mullah Fazlullah who is the leader of the Swat Taliban. Nisar, also known as Ghazi Baba was one of the 21 senior Taliban leaders wanted by the Pakistani government for their roles in the takeover and campaign of terror in Swat from 2006 to early 2009.

Good riddance.
