Ukraine Biolabs – What they won’t tell – More Tucker Carlson

“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes an act of sedition.” George Orwell.

The Tell: ” I received a fact sheet from the Pentagon that….”  “a fact sheet from the Pentagon” are the operative words…..included in all of the reporters stories on various networks who valiantly “explain” what these benign biolabs are doing situated in various parts of the Ukraine. To express statements otherwise is to convey Russian disinformation.

No one has been a more willing participant in this charade than Jennifer Griffin who has made it on every single program of Fox.

Jennifer Griffin is an American journalist who works as national security correspondent at the Pentagon for Fox News. So goes the description of her “role.” Our man Tucker is not to be dissuaded and valiantly takes one more bite at the apple at discerning exactly what these biolabs are all about.

A refresher on the cast of characters.

Robert Pope:

Robert Pope heads up the government agency “Defense Threat Reduction Agency” or known as the “Biological Threat Reduction Program” and gave a recent interview to the Bulletin of Atomic scientists, which I covered in previous posts, entitled:

US official: Russian invasion of Ukraine risks release of dangerous pathogens

I believe there has been modification to the original story but facts are stubborn things.

For his background at Linkedin which is interesting:

Everyone has their part in this play. Right now it hard to discern his… why this interview on February 25, 2022.

If you missed my previous posts, especially with Tucker Carlson, here is a link:

Any place that houses biological or chemical weapons is still a weapon lab. The better question is why after 17 years that material wasn’t destroyed.

Let’s first hear from Jennifer as she spreads U.S. misinformation. Yes, she straightens out Hannity.

Video below the tweet. Watch for her reference to the “fact sheet.” I would have expected more from Jennifer than reading off of a Pentagon fact sheet.

Here’s Jennifer:

Here is our man Tucker.

Fox News host reacts to claims the U.S. has been funding biolabs in Ukraine on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight

Tucker: “We should be very concerned about this”

So it’s Friday and I tried to tidy up a bit around this fascinating story that has a lot more legs to be sure.

The very best of the swamp today.

Ukraine has “biological research facilities,” says Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland

“Biological Threat Reduction Program” run by the U.S. in Ukraine. So just like the war on drugs, or the ATF running guns into Mexico, or “stop the opium and cocaine production” DEA programs, etc. etc. etc. We really just about had enough of these spooks.

Why did Victoria Nuland decide to spill the beans yesterday at a hearing and what part did Senator Rubio play?

Image

Ukraine has “biological research facilities,” says Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland, when asked by Sen Rubio if Ukraine has biological or chemical weapons, and says she’s worried Russia may get them. But she says she’s 100% sure if there’s a biological attack, it’s Russia.

Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists:

The Russian invasion of Ukraine may put at risk a network of US-linked labs in Ukraine that work with dangerous pathogens, said Robert Pope, the director of the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program, a 30-year-old Defense Department program that has helped secure the former Soviet Union’s weapons of mass destruction and redirect former bioweapons facilities and scientists toward peaceful endeavors.

While the United States isn’t maintaining bioweapons facilities, Pope said, war could put pathogen collections in Ukraine at risk.

“I would say from every facility that we have worked with them in, we have confidence that as long as the electrical power is turned on and the people we have trained are present at the facility, the biosafety officers, that these pathogens are safe and secure to international standards,” Pope said. “Should these facilities be damaged by conflict, that could change.”

The pathogens with which the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program labs work are generally kept frozen, so they can’t replicate and become infectious. The risk the pathogens pose would increase if a building lost power and suffered damage. “If you lose the electrical power, the pathogens in the freezers warm up,” he said. “If the ventilation system is damaged, or the building itself is damaged, and these now ambient-temperature pathogens are able to escape the facility, then they can be potentially infectious in the region around the facility.”

Some Ukrainian labs, like the Ukrainian Ministry of Health’s Public Health Center, Pope said, are major facilities, others small. Some are new, while others date back to the Soviet-era and the country’s bioweapons program.

The US government has worked with 26 facilities in Ukraine. Before the invasion, the program provided direct material support to six Ukrainian labs. The program also provides biosafety and scientific mentorship training to Ministry of Health personnel throughout the country.

Iraq’s WMDS did exist, Karl Rove blamed for coverup

Mark Levin challenged Conservatives on his radio show yesterday to pick up this story and go with it. He opined that few sites would because Karl Rove had his long nasty fingers in the coverup, and Fox in particular would not go near it. Now we learn that indeed there were tons of yellow cake found and functional chemical weapons found in Iraq after Bush went to war. Around 2004 the evidence was there.. That all the various intelligence services of various countries were right. Hussein had WMD’s. Our own soldiers injured by them. To me it was a block buster story back in June when I first heard, that indeed Iraq did have WMD’s. What I didn’t know was that Karl Rove was involved.

I posted the story back on June 24, 2014 — bunkerville ISIS in Iraq Occupy Hussein’s Chemical Weapons Facility – anyone concerned?.  My comment then:

This story has been puzzling me for about a week. Alas, apparently I am one of a handful that has given any thought to this. We all know the drill. No “Weapons of Mass Destruction” were found which caused Bush , Cheney, et al to bear the burden of “The Bad War.” Iraq. We do know that Sadam blasted the Kurds with WMD’s with the estimated deaths of over 50,000. So then Iraq did have a Chemical factory? So page forward. No weapons were found, but oh shucks, we have a few bunkers with “unstable” chemical weapons that we are assured are just too dangerous to handle. So not to worry. All is well in the parallel universe. Earth to fellow humans: Am I the only one questioning this whole story line? Must be that darn tin foil.

There’s one man, some Republicans say, who kept the public from learning about the chemical shells littered around Iraq. He was Bush’s most important political adviser.
Starting in 2004, some members of the George W. Bush administration and Republican lawmakers began to find evidence of discarded chemical weapons in Iraq. But when the information was brought up with the White House, senior adviser Karl Rove told them to “let these sleeping dogs lie.”The issue of Iraq’s WMD remnants was suddenly thrust back into the fore this week, with a blockbuster New York Times report accusing the Bush administration of covering up American troops’ chemically induced wounds.According to Wurmser, “in 2005-6, Karl Rove and his team blocked public disclosure of these (findings) and said ‘Let these sleeping dogs lie; we have lost that fight so better not to remind anyone of it.’”Rove declined to comment for this story.More over at Daily Beast

This story has been puzzling me for about a week. Alas, apparently I am one of a handful that has given any thought to this. We all know the drill. No “Weapons of Mass Destruction” were found which caused Bush , Cheney, et al to bear the burden of “The Bad War.” Iraq. Washington (WSJ)WSJ— Sunni extremists in Iraq have occupied what was once Saddam Hussein’s premier chemical-weapons production facility, a complex that still contains a stockpile of old weapons, State Department and other U.S. government officials said.

U.S. officials don’t believe the Sunni militants will be able to create a functional chemical weapon from the material. The weapons stockpiled at the Al Muthanna complex are old, contaminated and hard to move, officials said.

Nonetheless, the capture of the chemical-weapon stockpile by the forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, known as ISIS or ISIL, the militant group that is seizing territory in the country, has grabbed the attention of the U.S.

“We remain concerned about the seizure of any military site by the ISIL,” Jen Psaki, the State Department spokeswoman, said in a written statement. “We do not believe that the complex contains CW materials of military value and it would be very difficult, if not impossible to safely move the materials.”

The takeover underscores the chaos gripping Iraq and the prospect that the growing Sunni rebellion could further destabilize the Middle East. Not lost on U.S. government and military officials is the irony that the latest chapter in a war designed to strip Iraq of chemical weapons could see radical Sunni extremists take control of that same stockpile.

Military officials said the U.S. was well aware of the Muthanna stockpile and wouldn’t have left it there if it posed a military threat. Still, when the U.S. pulled out of Iraq, it didn’t anticipate a large swath of the country, including numerous military bases, would be overrun by radical Sunni militants. One defense official said that if the U.S. had known the Iraqi government would lose control so soon, it might not have left the old chemical weapons in place.

The rise of ISIS has reignited the debate about the 2003 invasion of Iraq by the Bush administration and the 2011 decision by the Obama administration to withdraw remaining military forces from the country. The takeover of a chemical weapons stockpile-even if the weapons are useless-seems likely to further intensify those debates.

Nonetheless, the capture of the chemical-weapon stockpile by the forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, known as ISIS or ISIL, the militant group that is seizing territory in the country, has grabbed the attention of the U.S. ED( Sorry, not a whole lot)

I’m sure that people who regularly blow themselves up and have their own divine deaths drilled into their heads since birth are worried about moving some dangerous chemicals to a point where they can be deadly and take out some infidels along with some Shi’ites.

Here is a bit of history, believe what you think reasonable.

Delusional Panetta wants Syrian Military to stay, S. Power confused

President Obama’s team thought the Iranian regime might abandon dictator Bashar Assad over his use of chemical weapons in Syria’s civil war. No doubt this keen thinking originated from Iranian born Valerie Jarrett who has admitted her family still has ties to Iran. But if this is not enough for my Sunday Special, my readers get a bonus report.

Back in August of 2012, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta says that when Bashar al-Assad loses his grip on power, he wants the Syrian military to remain in place. I am sure Kerry no doubt has an even happier ending.

Depraved and Delusional formerUS Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta tells CNN that the US must make sure that the ruthless genocidal hated Baathist Alawite sect-packed Secret Police Security Forces stay in power after the inevitable overthrow of Dictator Bashar Assad.

Many of us have been looking for what the ending would be in Syria after we dispatched another head of a Middle East country. I happened on a Panetta video whose is equally clueless regarding the administration’s best wishes for a happy ending. So first, lets chug down Samantha Power and move on to Leo Panetta.

Obama team thought Iran would not tolerate Bashar Assad’s use of WMDs

Samantha Power, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, hoped that a team of UN investigators — many of whom, presumably, have a longstanding relationship with Iranian leaders — could write a report that would convince Iran to abandon its ally at the behest of the United States.

“We worked with the UN to create a group of inspectors and then worked for more than six months to get them access to the country on the logic that perhaps the presence of an investigative team in the country might deter future attacks,” Power said at the Center for American Progress as she made the case for intervening in Syria.

“Or, if not, at a minimum, we thought perhaps a shared evidentiary base could convince Russia or Iran — itself a victim of Saddam Hussein’s monstrous chemical weapons attacks in 1987-1988 — to cast loose a regime that was gassing it’s people,” she said.

[565] CNN_ Interview with Defense Secretary Panetta on post-Assad Syria [AR_EN_FR_RU].flv
============================
U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta says that when Bashar al-Assad loses his grip on power, he wants the Syrian military to remain in place.

Here is some real clear critical thinking. I am just sure this is how it will go.

“I think it’s important when Assad leaves – and he will leave – to try to preserve stability in that country. And the best way to preserve that kind of stability is to maintain as much of the military, the police, as you can, along with the security forces, and hope that they will transition to a democratic form of government. That’s a key,” Panetta told CNN’s Pentagon Correspondent Barbara Starr in an exclusive interview in Tunis, Tunisia, Monday. (More of this Hopey, changey, thingey).

He said the United States shouldn’t allow a repeat of the Bush administration’s moves in Iraq, where it disbanded the Iraqi military.

“It’s very important that we don’t make the same mistakes we made in Iraq,” he said. “And that, particularly, when it comes things like the chemical sites. They (the Syrian military) do a pretty good job of securing those sites. If they suddenly walked away from that, it would be a disaster to have those chemical weapons fall into the wrong hands – hands of Hezbollah or other extremists in that area.”

Yep, Leon, that is what a whole lot of us are thinking.

Panetta: ‘We lost track of some of the Syrian chemical weapons’

Yes, just a year ago, Panetta admitted that there was just as good a chance that the rebel forces had indeed acquired Chemical weapons. So stick this in your ear and stop lying to us. You have no clue who used these chemical agents, and in fact you could be just as easily be setting us up you clueless fools. Am I angry? You betcha. Major/main sites are secure? How about the not so major/main sites??

Friday, September 28, 2012

“We’ve never had perfect visibility into  the Syrian chemical weapons stockpile, but we have excellent information that accounts for most of it,” said a senior defense official, speaking on background.

“I don’t have any specific information about the opposition and whether or not they’ve obtained some of this, or how much they’ve obtained and just exactly what has taken place,” Panetta said.

“As to the movement of some of these materials and whether or not they’ve been exposed to possession by the opposition or others,” he added, “that’s something I really don’t have any firm information to confirm that that’s taken place.”

The U.S. has lost track of some of Syria’s chemical weapons, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Friday, and does not know if any potentially lethal chemicals have fallen into the hands of Syrian rebels or Iranian forces inside the country.

Panetta said that the “main sites” in Syria storing chemical weapons with which the Pentagon is most concerned remain secured by the Syrian military. But there is “some intelligence” that “limited” movements of weapons from other sites have occurred, he said, “for the Syrians to better secure what they – the chemicals.”

Panetta’s statement follows reporting that Syrian rebels claim to have taken control of a military base that contains chemical weapons.  ED. And other nasty weapons as well.
