Biden on drug prices: ‘We will set the prices’

Otherwise known as a totalitarian government point of view. Cloaked in wolf’s clothes. . Something that sounds good. Biden is the so called ‘Moderate’? All we need to know about one Joe Biden and his healthcare plan.

Companies that develop drugs will have to go to the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) to be told what they’ll be allowed to charge for their products if Joe Biden is elected president, the former vice president declared Wednesday during the Democrat presidential debate.

I managed to get through the debate to this point. Considering it takes about one Billion buckeroos to develop a new drug and years and years, this should work out swell. The simple answer is that foreign countries need to pay their fair share of the price of drugs including development. We need to stop subsidizing.

Biden made the claim while defending his health care plan against the charge that it would not cover everyone in America, adding that his administration would also dictate any price increases:

“My plan does cover everyone, number one. Number two, the fact is that my plan also calls for controlling drug prices. The biopharma is now where things are going to go. It’s no longer chemicals.

“It’s about all the breakthroughs we have with the whole — excuse me, immune system.

“And, what we have to do now is we have to have a form that sits in the HHS and says: as you develop a drug, you got to come to us and decide what you can sell it for.

“We will set the price. And, secondly, it says that you cannot raise that price beyond the cost of inflation from this point on.”

Drug Shortages in Great Britain – Coming soon with Obamacare?

Patients are being forced to wait for vital drugs – including treatments for cancer – because of desperate shortages of medicines across Britain.

Stocks of 56 drugs, including treatments for cancer, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, depression, kidney disease, high blood pressure, and epilepsy have now run low.

Other than that, all is well in the swamp. For the best in conservative news, and so much better than Drudge. Click below.

For more years than I would like to imagine possible, the US government has contrived against the interests of that segment of people in the United States who require the greatest access to expensive medications, who can least afford them even with Medicare and supplemental insurances.

Try to get your head around the fact that, colluding with the World Health Organization, the United States provides medications to foreigners far cheaper than they do to their own citizens. If you live in McAllen, Texas and obtain your prescription medications from a US pharmacy, you pay premium dollar. Walk a quarter of a mile across the bridge into Mexico, and you can obtain that same medication for pennies on the US dollar. This situation doesn’t sit well with me because it assumes that “America’s collective wealth” justifies screwing the elderly, who are on a fixed income.

Meanwhile, Biden is well versed in using language that garners the support of poorly informed elderly voters vis-à-vis the cost of pharmaceuticals. What the RNC needs to do is find a way to explain this very complex Pharm problem is very simple terms so that the elderly can make INFORMED decisions in 2020. I’m not holding my breath, though.

The knee jerk response to big pharma to set prices by the government will finish the drug companies. I have never been able to figure out why the drug companies pricing is so different… my hunch as I look at it is that China is manufacturing many of not most of our drugs… thus the recent record of contaminated and diluted drugs that not has not gotten the attention that it deserves.
This is an issue out there to be investigated…The fact that the FDA allows a 30 percent difference in efficacy is astounding….. but having Joe and his panel decide pricing is not for me. Importing drugs from outside the USA is interesting….. I have through the years checked where my drugs are made.. the Bahamas seem to be a hot spot.

The entire problem is that we don’t have a health care industry. We have a sick care industry. Treatments that regenerate and restore, or treatments that preserve, are non FDA approved and not covered by insurance. There’s a reason for that.

We watched until 10–then we switched over to Yellowstone (my newest addiction, grin). Apparently, missed some fireworks between Harris and Gabbard…anyways, Sen. Kennedy from the great state of Louisiana said it best; “The only thing missing was the Cuban national anthem.” That came from Townhall…I love that guy. smiles
