Obama orders killed Border Agent Brian Terry’s records sealed

Let us stay on this story and not let this corrupt administration get away with this.

On December 14, 2010 in Peck Canyon, northwest of Nogales, Arizona, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was shot dead by a group of illegal border entrants who refused commands to drop their weapons after they were confronted by U.S. agents. The illegals murdered Terry with a gun connected to a failed federal experiment that allowed firearms to be smuggled into Mexico. The family of slain border agent Brian Terry blamed Eric Holder for their son’s death in a recent interview. H/T:The Daley Gator

Now the Obama Administration has sealed the court records on Agent Terry’s murder.

Judicial Watch reported:

The Obama Administration has abruptly sealed court records containing alarming details of how Mexican drug smugglers murdered a U.S. Border patrol agent with a gun connected to a failed federal experiment that allowed firearms to be smuggled into Mexico.

This means information will now be kept from the public as well as the media. Could this be a cover-up on the part of the “most transparent” administration in history? After all, the rifle used to kill the federal agent (Brian Terry) last December in Arizona’s Peck Canyon was part of the now infamous Operation Fast and Furious. Conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the disastrous scheme allowed guns to be smuggled into Mexico so they could eventually be traced to drug cartels.

Instead, federal law enforcement officers lost track of more than 1,000 guns which have been used in numerous crimes. In Terry’s case, five illegal immigrants armed with at least two semi-automatic assault rifles were hunting for U.S. Border Patrol agents near a desert watering hole just north of the Arizona-Mexico border when a firefight erupted and Terry got hit.

We know this only because Washington D.C.’s conservative newspaper got ahold of the court documents before the government suddenly made them off limits. The now-sealed federal grand jury indictment tells the frightening story of how Terry was gunned down by Mexican drug smugglers patrolling the rugged desert with the intent to “intentionally and forcibly assault” Border Patrol agents.

You can see why the administration wants to keep this information from the public and the media, considering the smugglers were essentially armed by the U.S. government. Truth is, no one will know the reason for the confiscation of public court records in this case because the judge’s decision to seal it was also sealed, according to the news story. That means the public or media won’t have access to any new or old evidence, filings, rulings or arguments.

Obama’s failed Fast and Furious program is also linked to 200 murders in Mexico.

FDA wants Mandatory Salt Reductions

This is the first step to what surely will become the law of the land by a non-elected governmental agency. Wars were fought over salt, but alas, we are doomed to a bland, unappealing  diet. Why should we be able to enjoy food pleasing to the palate? After all, enjoyment of life must be eliminated for the betterment of the few. H/T: The Agitator for the find.

With little publicity, the federal Food and Drug Administration has begun laying groundwork for one of the more audacious regulatory initiatives of the Obama administration: mandatory reductions in the salt content of processed foods in the supermarket aisle and at restaurants. From Cato:

In the mean time, you can file comments here about whether you’d like to go on making these choices yourself, or have FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg make them for you.

In a September 15 “Request for Comments, Data, and Information” (PDF) published in the Federal Register, the FDA solicits from the public “comments, data, and evidence relevant to the dietary intake of sodium as well as current and emerging approaches designed to promote sodium reduction.” Among the specific ideas it has in mind: setting federally prescribed “targets” for “stepwise” reductions in the amount of salt allowable in various foods, the phased nature of the reductions indicated because consumers’ “taste preference for sodium is acquired and can be modified.”

Various government programs (notably in Mayor Bloomberg’s New York City) already arm-twist producers into supposedly voluntary reductions, but the FDA notice hints broadly that voluntary measures will not suffice. Its public comment period ends next Tuesday, November 29; let’s hope the agency gets an earful from citizens about the importance of freedom and consumer choice.

Americans to be detained indefintely under Amendment UPDATE

UPDATE:  Senate Bill 1867 PASSED goes to the House.

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted Tuesday to keep a controversial provision to let the military detain terrorism suspects on U.S. soil and hold them indefinitely without trial — prompting White House officials to reissue a veto threat. Earlier:

The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. Even Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) raised his concerns about the NDAA detention provisions during last night’s Republican debate. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself. UPDATE: The New American has a great analysis…   Be sure and look at this ACLU link.

This is the vote on the Udall Amendment that the ACLU was supporting which would insure American Civil Liberties.. it does not look good at this point since the Udall amendment was defeated. Here is a link to the vote tally count of the Udall Amendment

http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=112&session=1&vote=00210

The measure, part of the massive National Defense Authorization Act, was also opposed by civil libertarians on the left and right. But 16 Democrats and an independent joined with Republicans to defeat an amendment by Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) that would have killed the provision, voting it down with 61 against, and 37 for it.

The final vote showed bizarre fractures among Democrats, erasing the usual barriers between conservatives and liberals. The 16 who voted for the harsh detainee rules were Sens. Bob Casey (Pa.), Kent Conrad (N.D.), Kay Hagan (N.C.), Daniel Inouye (Hawaii), Herb Kohl (Wis.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Carl Levin (Mich.), Joe Manchin (W. Va.), Clair McCaskill (Mo.), Robert Menendez (N.J.), Ben Nelson (Neb.), Mark Pryor (Ark.), Jack Reed (R.I.), Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.), Debbie Stabenow (Mich.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.). National defense hawk and independent Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.) also voted in favor of the tougher language.  More at Huffington Post

I caught this action on Fox this morning. Judge Napolitano was on, and a chilling review of this amendment dreamed up by no other than McCain and Levin. So if you had any remorse that you did not give McCain your full-throated endorsement last time, no need to worry. I can find precious little this morning, The source below says the votes are there  now for passage.  Be sure and look at this ACLU link. Click on “the Power” link and the ACLU will send out a message to your Senator. I received an e-mail back already from Toomey. This is another method: http://www.contactingthecongress.org/

Many pieces of legislation introduced in Congress seek to change our understanding of basic U.S. constitutional values, but most die in committee. This one hasn’t.

co-authored by Democrat Carl Levin and Republican John McCain, was written in secret and approved by committee without a single hearing. The bill would authorize the indefinite detention of American citizens anywhere in the world, including within U.S. jurisdiction (i.e., in the community where you live). The bill is being included as part of the National Defense Reauthorization Act. Full story here: http://lamesa.patch.com/articles/udall

United States sending $120 Billion to bail out Europe.

OK, you do the math. While the British are vexing over the contribution they may have to pay to prop up the Socialist regimes in Europe, we will be sending $120 Billion since we cough up about 20 percent of the IMF. You can bet this is only the beginning.Pray tell, where is this money coming from? Who authorizes it. Check out the earlier post below this one, and I think we can catch on.:”Too big to fail”. Goldman Sachs post. You guessed it,  U,S, has already provided 20 Billion to bail out Europe

Reports in Italy suggested that the IMF is drawing up plans for a €600 billion (£517 billion) assistance package for the country. Spain may be offered access to IMF credit, rather than a rescue package, to avoid it being “picked off” by the markets in the coming weeks.

Any IMF involvement in European rescue packages would be partly underwritten by British taxpayers, which could leave this country liable if Italy and Spain did not repay any international loan.Full Story at the Telegraph

Government Sachs- European Branch

While the focus of the Economic crisis gets much attention here in the States, the march of the Globalists continues in Europe. It is known by many that Goldman Sachs has infiltrated our government at the highest level. There are plenty of posts that have covered it. Open Secrets:

According to research by the Center for Responsive Politics, 19 current members of Congress reported holdings in Goldman Sachs during 2010. Whether by coincidence or not, most of these 19 Goldman Sachs investors in Congress are more powerful or more wealthy than their peers, or both.
And of the six lawmakers who fall into neither category, two are the most influential Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives: House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.).

Altogether, the 19 had at least $480,000 and as much as $1.1 million invested in Goldman Sachs in 2010, the most recent year personal finance data are available. That’s an average of about $812,900 for these 19 lawmakers’ holdings combined.

But let us not forget that Sachs is alive and well in Europe. This short clip sums it up nicely I think.

Obama won’t “redistribute” to his brother George

More information trickles out on the Obama clan. Anyone who has passed by my blog, knows I love to follow his family tree. Looks like George, his half-brother, has popped up with a story to remind us of what a hypocrite Obama is. Of course, when Obama reminded us that we are our brother’s keeper, he wasn’t talking about his brother George. In his Thanksgiving message this year, Barack Obama reminded us that the economy still sucks and that we are our brother’s keeper.

We’re also grateful for the Americans who are taking time out of their holiday to serve in soup kitchens and shelters, making sure their neighbors have a hot meal and a place to stay. This sense of mutual responsibility – the idea that I am my brother’s keeper; that I am my sister’s keeper – has always been a part of what makes our country special. And it’s one of the reasons the Thanksgiving tradition has endured…..rest at Gateway Pundit

Barack Obama’s brother George, also a community organizer, was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession in 2009. He was interviewed in his slum in 2008.

And with the addition of a few figures praying and dancing, even a few cars rumbling through, they take on an outer-worldly feel”. Full Slide show here at  The Daily Mail.

Mark Levin – A Neurosurgeon calls in about Death Panels, HHS

UPDATE: David Keel has sent this link from the Society which claims that there is no written document from the Federal Government supporting this. However they do know who made the phone call. Interesting.

Mark Levin talked to the Organization involved. They indicated they knew who the individual was that make the phone call. Mark asked who it was so he could talk to him. They refused to tell Mark, saying they didn’t want to be sued. Why would they be sued if what the Organziation said to Mark was true ? Just saying.

http://www.aans.org/pdf/AANS_News/Mark_Levin_Statement_UPDATED.pdf

In one of the most chilling phone calls that Mark has ever had, last night was something else. A Neurosurgeon had just attended a meeting with Government representatives. They let the group of Neurosurgeons know what they were in for. After age 70, no Neurosurgery will be the effect of the new rules coming down. People are no longer called people. We are now called Units. Comfort care is what we get. All to de-humanize us.I was hoping someone had snagged this, and indeed someone did. Obama’s pal Rezko sentenced to 10 and 1/2 years

“Both actions would be clear violations of Senate ethics rules baring the granting or asking of favors,” wrote John Fund in the Wall Street Journal. How convicted felon helped Obama buy home  The Boston Globe reported Obama asked Rezko’s advice in negotiating the deal – after all, Rezko was supposedly experienced with real estate, having negotiated so many low-income housing deals in Chicago – and Obama toured the house with Rezko before making an offer.  From World Net Daily for a look back on how Obama’s pal Rezko helped him out with their home sweet home in Chicago. Of course not a ripple today in the MSM. Our teflon Prez comes out smelling like a rose.

Hailed by prosecutors as a “wake-up call,” Antoin Rezko was sentenced to 10½ years in prison today for extorting millions of dollars from firms seeking state business or regulatory approval while he was a top fundraiser and adviser to then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Rezko was convicted by a federal jury of extorting millions of dollars from firms seeking state business or regulatory approval while he was a Blagojevich confidant. More than two years later, in October 2010, he pleaded guilty to wire fraud over the bogus sale of his pizza restaurants. He still faces sentencing for that conviction as well.
