Glenn Beck: ‘Tea Party folks supporting Gingrich racists’?

Doug Powers has a take down on Beck who stopped by Judge Napolitano. I found it as offensive/disturbing  myself. Glenn, your 30 days of fame are running out. So you won’t vote for Gingrich? Bye Bye Glenn. You are getting yourself a bit too puffed up for me. Source and more: Mediaite

So, what’s your take on this?

“If you have a big government progressive, or a big government progressive in Obama… ask yourself this, Tea Party: is it about Obama’s race? Because that’s what it appears to be to me. If you’re against him but you’re for this guy [Gingrich], it must be about race. I mean, what else is it? It’s the policies that matter.”

Beck should be careful… if he’s going to assume a Tea Partier who might end up pulling the lever for “big government progressive” Gingrich over “big government progressive” Obama is doing so purely for racial reasons, then said Tea Partier might return the favor and assume that Beck’s playing of the race card against the Tea Party means he’s decided to align himself with big government progressives such as Nancy Pelosi, Andre Carson and John Lewis. The “wheel of accusations” goes round and round. He continues:Doug Powers He has the short video clip or slide to about 6:20 below for the rant.

Update: Beck says he’d consider voting Ron Paul in a third party instead of Gingrich as the GOP nominee. The result of course will be an Obama 2nd term. Nice Glenn.

UPDATE: Check out the video of Carl Levin“But… It was his administration that insisted that the language be included in the bill”.

From the video: Senator Carl Levin (D-Mich.) told Congress recently that under the original wording of the National Defense Authorization Act, American citizens were excluded from the provision that allowed for detention. Once Obama’s officials saw the text though, says Levin, “the administration asked us to remove the language which says that US citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section.”

I posted earlier this week on the vote to allow detaining terrorism suspects without trial will include Americans as well. I caught this video with Rand Paul and Judge Napolitano discussing this bill. Chilling. Sometimes a video is worth more than words. Here we go.

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted Tuesday to keep a controversial provision to let the military detain terrorism suspects on U.S. soil and hold them indefinitely without trial — prompting White House officials to reissue a veto threat.

The Senate voted on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. Even Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) raised his concerns about the NDAA detention provisions during last night’s Republican debate. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself. UPDATE: The New American has a great analysis…   Be sure and look at this ACLU link.

Many pieces of legislation introduced in Congress seek to change our understanding of basic U.S. constitutional values, but most die in committee. This one hasn’t.

Senate Bill 1867, co-authored by Democrat Carl Levin and Republican John McCain, was written in secret and approved by committee without a single hearing. The bill would authorize the indefinite detention of American citizens anywhere in the world, including within U.S. jurisdiction (i.e., in the community where you live). The bill is being included as part of the National Defense Reauthorization Act.  Here is a link to the Udall Amendment that was voted down that would have corrected this. Here is a link to the vote tally count of the Udall Amendment

Americans to be detained indefintely under Amendment UPDATE

UPDATE:  Senate Bill 1867 PASSED goes to the House.

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted Tuesday to keep a controversial provision to let the military detain terrorism suspects on U.S. soil and hold them indefinitely without trial — prompting White House officials to reissue a veto threat. Earlier:

The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. This is the vote on the Udall Amendment that the ACLU was supporting which would insure American Civil Liberties.. it does not look good at this point since the Udall amendment was defeated. Here is a link to the vote tally count of the Udall Amendment

The measure, part of the massive National Defense Authorization Act, was also opposed by civil libertarians on the left and right. But 16 Democrats and an independent joined with Republicans to defeat an amendment by Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) that would have killed the provision, voting it down with 61 against, and 37 for it.

The final vote showed bizarre fractures among Democrats, erasing the usual barriers between conservatives and liberals. The 16 who voted for the harsh detainee rules were Sens. Bob Casey (Pa.), Kent Conrad (N.D.), Kay Hagan (N.C.), Daniel Inouye (Hawaii), Herb Kohl (Wis.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Carl Levin (Mich.), Joe Manchin (W. Va.), Clair McCaskill (Mo.), Robert Menendez (N.J.), Ben Nelson (Neb.), Mark Pryor (Ark.), Jack Reed (R.I.), Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.), Debbie Stabenow (Mich.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.). National defense hawk and independent Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.) also voted in favor of the tougher language.  More at Huffington Post

I caught this action on Fox this morning. Judge Napolitano was on, and a chilling review of this amendment dreamed up by no other than McCain and Levin. So if you had any remorse that you did not give McCain your full-throated endorsement last time, no need to worry. I can find precious little this morning, The source below says the votes are there  now for passage.  Be sure and look at this ACLU link. Click on “the Power” link and the ACLU will send out a message to your Senator. I received an e-mail back already from Toomey. This is another method: http://www.contactingthecongress.org/

TSA: You are going to like your groin check, or else

When you have TSA screeners shamelessly telling passengers they’re going to conduct a groin check, When you have TSA screeners accosting 3 year-old girls, when you have Catholic nuns being felt up…

You know the system is broken. We really have reached the tipping point. Meanwhile we cannot construct a fence to keep out illegals?  From Gateway Pundit  CNN reported:

Now, the Transportation Security Administration warning that any passenger who denies TSA agents from patting down, doing in groin checks or who refuses full body scanners could be subject to civil penalties.

In response to a video of a California man’s dispute with airport security officials, the Transportation Security Administration said Monday it tries to be sensitive to individuals, but everyone getting on a flight must be screened.

The video, in which software engineer John Tyner refuses an X-ray scan at the San Diego, California, airport, has sparked a debate over screening procedures…

…Tyner said that after he declined the body scan, a TSA agent told him he could have a pat-down instead. Once the procedure was described, Tyner said he responded, “If you touch my junk, I’ll have you arrested.”

“Advanced imaging technology screening is optional for all passengers,” TSA said in a statement released Monday. “Passengers who opt out of [advanced imaging] screening will receive alternative screening, including a physical pat-down.”

But anyone who refuses to complete the screening process will be denied access to airport secure areas and could be subject to civil penalties, the administration said, citing a federal appeals court ruling in support of the rule.

When Obama said Americans were “the enemy” he wasn’t kidding

 Big Sis says:

Our security depends on us being more determined and more creative to adapt to evolving threats. It relies upon a multi-layered approach that leverages the strengths of our international partners, the latest intelligence, and the patience and vigilance of the American traveling public.

But does it have to be my crotch??

Napolitano – Obama Administration Plan to Give Amnesty to Illegal Aliens

Think about it: unions will never achieve the best terms for workers when a large part of the workforce is illegal andmexican-dream operates in a shadow economy,” Napolitano said. “By contrast, the status quo not only hurts American workers, it also stifles potential opportunities to grow our economy.”

Napolitano said that she has seen a “major shift” in the immigration landscape, which the Obama administration hopes will make it easier for Congress to pass new immigration laws. Lucky U.S., Lucky Unions, Amercan Workers, Hasta la vista Baby- or something like that.

“These are major differences that should change the immigration conversation,” Napolitano said.

The secretary said the Obama administration is “committed to this issue.”

“When Congress is ready to act, we will be ready to support them,” Napolitano said. Yep, and we will be ready for congress Ms. Napolitano. Have you noticed 10.2 unemployment??

Obama tapped Muslim for top job at federal DHS

The Obama administration has tapped Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Arif Alikhan for a top job at the federal Department of Homeland Security. KPCC’s Frank Stoltze says Alikhan immediately becomes one of the administration’s highest-profile Muslims.

While this action occurred some time ago, Bunkerville will be revisting  the incredulous appointments that early on passed under the radar. With new concerns regarding the many czars, lets take time to review them all. Most chilling was Janet Napolitano’s high regard for this individual as quoted later in the article. One wonders where these candiates are coming from and who is vetting them.

Excerpt: Southern California Public Radio:

Frank Stoltze:Arif Alikhan downplays his Sunni Muslim roots

During his years in Los Angeles, Alikhan was responsible for derailing the Police Department’s plan to monitor activities within the Los Angeles Muslim community, where numerous radical mosques and madrassas existed, and where some of the 9/11 hijackers had received support from local residents.

Strongly anti-Israel, Alikhan has referred to the terrorist organization Hezbollah as a “liberation movement.” An affiliate of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Alikhan opposed President George W. Bush’s prosecution of the war on Islamic terror.

More from Atlas Shrugs:

Back in 2007, Alikhan was instrumental in removing the Muslim terror tracking plan in LA.

The controversial Muslim ‘Mapping’ Plan of the Los Angeles Police Department is now “dead on arrival” according to Chief William Bratton.

“It is over and not just put on the side,” said Chief Bratton in a meeting with the Muslim leadership of Southern California on Thursday, November 15th. The meeting was moderated by Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles, Arif Alikhan and attended by Deputy Chief Mike Downing.

Why Alikhan? DHS SecretaryJanet Napolitano noted Alikhan’s “broad and impressive array of experience in national security, emergency preparedness and counterterrorism.” I am not sure what she is talking about (neither is she, I am sure.)

How does an obscure bureaucrat a and devout Muslim come to the position of Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles – in charge of public safety for the city? And now Assistant Secretary to DHS?

Un-indicted co-conspirator CAIR was thrilled at the appointment:

CAIR-LA Congratulates Calif. Muslim Appointed to DHS Post , Arif Alikhan will serve as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development
