Russians to Control Uranium Mines in Wyoming

Impeachment process should start immediately. Picked this up from NewZeal which is a great blog out of New Zealand. A good one to bookmark.

Why in the world would we do such a thing? Putin must be getting a good chuckle..threatening us so we support the START treaty which precludes us from a Anti-ballistic missle system? We are being played as fools. The world is buying up scarce resources while we sign what we have away. Now a moratorium on off shore drilling on the East Coast and the Gulf for seven years while Cuba and China develop the area.

From The Telegraph;

Two uranium mines in Wyoming are on their way to control by a Russian company now that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved transferring the mines’ licenses.

The NRC last week approved the license transfer to a Russian company known as ARMZ which expects to obtain a controlling interest in Canadian-owned Uranium One by year’s end. Uranium One holds the licenses for a proposed uranium mine and an existing uranium mine in northeast Wyoming.

The transfer raised concern from Wyoming’s congressional delegation, who said the uranium could in theory go overseas and serve against U.S. interests.

The NRC continues to prohibit exporting the uranium.

Uranium Miners Hit New Highs:

International demand for U2O6 is rising. Knowledgeable investors who made a killing when uranium reached $136 a pound in June 2007 are once again in the accumulation mode. The Russians, Koreans, and particularly the Chinese are investing in joint ventures all over the world to gain control of future supply. Great read here at Daily Markets on what is happening with Uranium
