The Federal Register – The Gift that keeps on giving

The Federal Register, the heartbeat of the Federal Government..

Since the Obama administration has proclaimed their intent to rule by governmental decree, let us review this devilish instrument that will herald the arrival of the mandates. Here is the White House view. Note that no mention is made of actions taken on behalf of Congressional legislation. Fair warning is given that it is “dense”. Not for the common folk.

From the White house

What is the Federal Register?

The Federal Register is the legal newspaper of the U.S. government and contains rules, proposed rules, and public notices of federal agencies, as well Presidential documents. It’s an important, crucial part of our democracy. The Office of the Federal Register is a component of the National Archives and Records Administration.

Have you ever tried to find something in the Federal Register?

As you might expect, the Federal Register is dense and difficult to read whether in print or online as a PDF.  It’s also difficult to find what you’re looking for.

Like some unseen behemoth beneath the oceans. A weapon used against business and individuals that can permeate every aspect of our lives if left unattended when proper notices of enactment are disregarded.

The government may not do much right, but the czars, and the drones they employ must produce this content daily to justify their existence. They must create some form of governmental control, edict, mandate for their lives to continue.

While major infringements upon us may make the news, it is the dozens of “little” rules that go unnoticed, created to benefit or hinder those who do or do not pay proper tribute to the great one. It is here that Obamacare recipients will hear the good news that they will get a “waiver” or as known, “priviledge” from the good Czar. The Federal Register where we learned of the rebirth of the death panels. The surprise that the death panels return via regulation. Congress be damned.

In Charles Kesler’s Claremont Review of Books editorial, Kesler writes of Obamacare’s administrative regime:

Faster than one might think, a government of equal laws turns into a regime of arbitrary privileges.

A “privilege” is literally a private law. When law ceases to be a common “standard of right and wrong” and a “common measure to decide all controversies,” then the rule of law ceases to be republican and becomes despotic. Freedom itself ceases to be a right and becomes a gift, or the fruit of a corrupt bargain, because in such degraded regimes those who are close to and connected with the ruling class have special privileges. LINK Powerline

And so the Federal register drones on. It is the beast that must be fed. Let us pay heed. It promulgates the actions of a despotic government. The Federal Register. As published by the Government Printing Office One may find the GPO Shortcut to “Daily Issue” located: Here
