Bizarre New Details of the Death of Senator McConnell’s Sister-in-Law

Angela Chao, the sister-in-law of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, died on Feb. 11 after backing her vehicle into a pond. In one of the most bizarre tales I have read in a long time, we read of the less than harrowing time for Angela Chao for her apparently, as her car sank taking her life with it. Eight minutes she was on the phone as the car slowly sank. We are reminded of her China relationships…so close to the those who control the levers of power. As the smallest of details unfold in the tale, one can only be puzzled. Earlier speculation of a possible sinister event seems to have been resolved in this unhappy story.

Epoch Times and Zero Hedge tell the tale:

More details have since emerged, including that Ms. Chao was on the phone with a friend for eight minutes after her car hit the pond and was sinking, according to the Blanco County Sheriff’s incident report obtained by The Epoch Times.

The report also revealed Ms. Chao had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.233 percent, almost three times higher than the legal threshold of 0.08 percent for driving in Texas.

Ms. Chao, 50, was CEO of the U.S.-based family business, Foremost Group, and a previous top executive for a Chinese shipping giant and board member of China’s World Bank.

On February 10, Ms. Chao and seven female friends—many with home addresses in New York—had gathered for dinner and drinks at the guest lodge located on Ms. Chao’s private ranch, JW Ranch, in Blanco County, Texas.

Security cameras on the exterior of the lodge captured the moment Ms. Chao drove her car into the pond, according to two videos from different angles that were provided to investigators by the property manager.

The report says at approximately 11:42 pm, Ms. Chao’s friend Amber Landeau-Keinan received a telephone call from Ms. Chao, who told her “in a calm voice” that she was in the “lake,” which was a stock tank, or pond, near the guest house.

Ms. Chao said she had put the car, a 2020 Tesla model X SUV, in reverse instead of drive while making a three-point turn.

At the time, Ms. Landeau-Keinan was in bed, and as she remained on the phone with Ms. Chao, she got dressed, and knocked on Heela Tsuzuki’s door who was in the next room, to inform her that Ms. Chao was in the pond, the report states.

The west side camera captures Ms. Landeau-Keinan rushing outside to look for the vehicle at 11:43:21 p.m., while on the phone with Ms. Chao.

She told Ms. Chao to get out of the vehicle after Ms. Chao said her feet were under water.

Ms. Chao informs Ms. Landeau-Keinan she’s not able to get out of the vehicle, the report states. Ms. Chao told Landeau-Keinan the water was rising and she was going to die and said “I love you” prior to the vehicle submerging, the report states.

Ms. Chao and her husband, who were married in 2012, both have extensive ties to China. Both are Harvard alumni and Mr. Breyer also attended Stanford.

Mr. Breyer is a venture capitalist and longtime investor in China via his company Breyer Capital and as the former co-chair of Beijing-based IDG Capital.

Ms. Chao was one of six independent board members of the Bank of China from Jan. 4, 2017, to June 30, 2022.

….

“The re-election of Chao as an independent non-executive board member of the bank will help the board to improve its ability to analyze and judge the international situation,” states a document from the bank’s 2018 shareholders meeting.

The Bank of China has 14 board members; Four executive members, four non-executive members, and six independent members, according to an official document.

The Bank of China is managed and controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), with most members on the board also members of the CCP. During her tenure, Ms. Chao was the only board member outside of China.

From May 2009 to June 2011, Ms. Chao was also a board member of state-owned China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), which builds ships for the People’s Liberation Army and Navy.

The Epoch Times is run by the Falun Gong, so they naturally try to spin every story to implicate China. However, this was a highly suspicious death of a Deep State operative. The circumstances of her death suggest to me that her drinks might have been drugged and that she likely had a little help getting her car into the pond (backing in sounds suspiciously similar to being pushed). If she was prone to getting drunk at parties, she likely may have been prone to talking too freely about certain things that Mitch and his cohorts might not want brought to public knowledge.

As a side note, this happened in the same general area where the equally mysterious death of Judge Antonin Scalia happened. Good-old-boy Southern Sheriffs don’t tend to ask too many questions about what goes on at these ‘private ranches.’

Interesting take… but can you contradict what Epoch says as false? I have McConnell last summer

The tapes have several angles of her getting in the car and her driving movements… as well as her walking around.

Her alcohol level was beyond what a woman her size and weight should even be conscious. I don’t know of any drug that would amplify the dosage level of it.

Texas is Texas but looks no smoking gun at this point. Though the lack of autopsy does seem curious. Any death under these circumstance almost always require one. I would think her husband would want all possible explainations.

I don’t doubt the facts of her connections to China, but I do doubt the Falun Gong’s spin that China may have been implicated.

Drugs wouldn’t have raised the alcohol level but would have suppressed reaction capabilities. Being on the cellphone for eight minutes and saying ‘whoa, man I’m sinking. I think I’m going to drown’ sounds more like dope than alcohol. The reaction of the others, who apparently were only a few feet away also seemed a bit subdued. I don’t think that Scalia had an autopsy either and he was cremated shortly afterwards without his family’s permission.

The thing that caught my attention was her connection to Chinese shipbuilders, who are being targeted by Congress right now. The fact that she was likely very pro-China might have had her talking about dirt that she had on Mitch and her disapproval of what the China-Hawks in Congress were doing.

NW.. I do on second thought, think the reaction more druggie now that you mentioned it… I would love to hear the voice…

Apparently we won’t get the names of the other women who were there…

The property manager as well was off… Standing on the roof of the car? I think I would have stayed busy.

This really IS a “a tale from the SWAMP” isn’t it.  I’m sorry, but I can’t imagine being drunk enough not to be screaming my head off “HELP ME! HELP ME!” Or being drunk enough to delay in helping a friend who’s sinking in her car!???

According to the material I discovered online, an individual inside a submerged vehicle can escape if the car isn’t upside down and the stranded person doesn’t waste time trying to kick out a window. (Police say getting power windows down while submerged isn’t a problem.)

Submerged people waste precious seconds trying the wrong methods. It’s also a problem if they text or converse while drowning.

Odd to say the least… “My feet are getting wet? I would be more concerned.” _ NW does raise a few interesting thoughts… drugged? But by whom? It sounds like the friends were hanging out.

Mustang, that’s good for all of us to know. i’m surprised power windows work at all when the electrical system is drowned! Good to know.

but BUNKERVILLE shares my opinion….if I was drowning, I’d be a TON more concerned! I think we all would………Come to think of it, it’s surprising her cell was working …I guess she’d not completely submerged yet if she could even speak. I’m wondering if I’d have called my friend or 911.

Ah… a discovery… she could talk to her friend, but could not get a connection to relay her location?? She had to try a couple of times and later the sheriff office got it?

You got it… The one managed to get herself into the canoe..and later we hear about a couple of them were upset on land… but I would be shrieking to everone, not knocking on a door, not worried about “getting dressed” – I mean cant you just throw on something in two seconds?

Well, I guess we can rule out murder. Bizarre would be an understatement.  The story also teaches a good lesson about electric cars and why Mitch has decided to side with his wife’s family and his in-laws’ real employers.

As for myself, I would not want to be stone sober and in an electric car that gets submerged. Internal combustion vehicles are enough of a challenge to exit and being drunk really adds a layer of difficulty.

If you are capable enough to dial a phone, why aren’t you capable to turn in your seat 90 degrees and kick out the passenger side window with the heels that most of these female executives wear? Am I assuming too much?

Her friend was seen running out within 90 seconds. That’s pretty fast if you’re hauled out of bed and wisely stop to let another person know. Who called 911? Anyone? It seems like if foul play, like a push into the pond, had happened her calls would have a different tone. I’m with Ed on poor decision making.
