Ted Kennedy secretly asked the Soviets to be involved in the 1984 election

We have been mixed up with the Russians and elections before this latest kerfuffle. It would be great if the media would be an honest broker and discuss past actions. A couple of weeks ago I posted Bill Clinton meddled in Russian Election.

In 1996 US govt interfered in Russia’s election so blatantly it was boasted of on the cover of Time magazine. .

And let’s look at what Senator Ted Kennedy had in mind.

If these progressives want to know what actual treason looks like, they should consult liberal lion Ted Kennedy, who not only allegedly sent secret messages to the Soviets in the midst of the cold war, he also begged them to intervene in a U.S. presidential election in order to unseat President Ronald Reagan.

kennedy-brezhnev That’s no exaggeration.According to Soviet documents unearthed in the early 1990’s, Kennedy literally asked the Soviets, avowed enemies of the U.S., to intervene on behalf of the Democratic party in the 1984 elections. Kennedy’s communist communique was so secret that it was not discovered until 1991, eight years after Kennedy had initiated his Soviet gambit:

Picking his way through the Soviet archives that Boris Yeltsin had just thrown open, in 1991 Tim Sebastian, a reporter for the London Times, came across an arresting memorandum. Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov, the top man in the entire USSR. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Kennedy would make certain the networks gave Andropov air time–and that they rigged the arrangement to look like honest journalism.

You can read the full KGB memo detailing Kennedy’s secret letter and request for electoral intervention here.

What everybody said! I couldn’t say it better. The Kennedy’s ARE the swamp. And so are the Clinton’s, O’DingleBarry’s, etc. There’s too many family dynasty’s in our government.

Thanks for posting this, I heard something about this a few years ago but I had forgotten. Perhaps it is time for the Republicans to remind the American people!

I was sure the Bill Clinton post would catch some attention, but not so much, nor this one. Before we go to war with Putin it might be an idea if someone talked about the past as well.

Joe kennedy the illegal international bootlegger, the Nazi sympathizer who was recalled from his US ambassador post in London by FDR, that Joe Kennedy was Ted Kennedy’s poppy? Are we talking about Ted Kennedy the swimmer, the guy who in his lifelong quest of fighting for women’s rights, took a sabbatical from his fight to make a waitress sandwich along with his buddy then Ct Senator Chris Dodd? That Ted Kennedy, the then alive now dead celebrated senator from the Peoples Republic of Masachusetts, currently the home and sinecure of Fauxahontas, stands accused by the right of having tried to thwart president Reagan’s 1984 re-election, really? That Senator Ted Kennedy (MA), the guy who heavily supported the Immihgration and Naturalization Act of 1965 proposed by Emanuel Celler (NY), cosponsored by Philip Hart(MI); the bill that has almost single handedly has turned or attempted to turn the country into a quasi multi cultural third world stew, that ted Kennedy, swapping spit with the Russians? Gee who woulda thunk it?

I think you summarized the Kennedy clan and all of their actions have done to our Nation. No Woodward and Bernstein to cover that family, only the GOP. No one to connect the dots anymore. History is to be forgotten.

And let’s not forget that Teddy’s poppy arranged to have Chicago’s Mayor Daley steal the 1960 presidential election for Teddy’s brother JFK. It’s a family affaaaa…

Wasn’t his daddy (Joe) at one point and time in trouble for passing secrets or something along those lines? This isn’t surprising, really…the left claims to be tolerant and for the people, and in truth, they are far from it. Sigh, I see Ryan was reelected…nothing is going to change, is it? Draining the swamp will be hard to do…I see Trumps team has requested all material on the illegal immigration/executive orders…go get them–drain that swamp, the money and law is already there…I think Trump is in for a surprise to find out how much trouble the USA is in…just saying (thanks to Obama and his court).

I am a little rusty about Pops, but I think you are right. Yes, Ryan didn’t come out of the gate humming. I am not impressed. They are jerking around Obamacare with a bad press they need to explain.
