NSA spying on citizens – Court says illegal

The spin continues. A secret court rules that the NSA is violating our rights, with a secret ruling. The EFF is continuing this fight. The good news is that the bill that somehow permits this sunsets at the end of the year, if congress does not renew. So let’s keep our eye on this one.  Don’t miss the video- and pass it on.

The filmmaker Laura Poitras profiles William Binney, a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency who helped design a top-secret program he says is broadly collecting Americans’ personal data. Chilling video and story link here: “The Program”

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is suing the Justice Department for details of last month’s ruling by a secretive U.S. court that National Security Agency’s domestic spying program violated the U.S. Constitution, Jon Brodkin of arstechnica reports.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) found that “on at least one occasion” the NSA had violated the Fourth Amendment’s restriction against unreasonable searches and seizures.

The EFF wants the information because of its current lawsuit against the NSA (i.e. Jewel vs. NSA) that alleges the U.S. government operates an illegal mass domestic surveillance program. Three NSA whistleblowers—including William Binney—agreed to provide evidence that the NSA has been running a domestic spying program since 2001.

What Bush et al, failed to appreicate is that while their intentions may have been to keep us safe, they failed to appreciate where this info, in the hands of others would destroy our democracy. What a slipperay slope.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Well said, Bunkerville. Plus, while Bush had good intentions who knows how our present or future presidents may take advantage of this and use it for nefarious purposes. Although maybe if the wording of this program had more accountability in place or changed in some way so that it didn’t violate citizens rights it may be okay but not sure about that.

Eschelon started in the ’90s, so this isn’t anything too new. That they’re coming out with it is new. Looking back on the past 100 years of unreported American history, nothing shocks me, for I see by their actions the total disdain the Elite have for you and I. They’re just sitting around thinking of the most efficient way to cull us, thus they come out with these documentaries, like Life without Us and such to get people acclamated to the idea.

9/11 is a can of worms and I suggest people read Lt. Col. Shaffer’s exciting book, Abel Danger to understand that over half the hijackers were identified and he was prevented from going after them. There’s some scary stuff happening at the top levels of our defense department, who now openly admit they work for NATO and the UN. All happening according to State Department pub 7727.

Wow! This is scary stuff, my friend. It’s been my position that the day that Bush announced that it was necessary to infringe on our rights in order to protect our rights, that was the day that US admitted defeat to the terrorist. The terrorist won because now we Americans have to live in fear of our own government’s fear of terrorism. IMO, the DHS and TSA were not needed to combat terrrorism. The FBI and the CIA had inteelegence that they were not paying attention to and were not sharing prior to the 9/11 attacks. Those failures could have been corrected without taking away our rights. I expect our government to do their very best to protect all Americans. But, who will protect us from them.
