Hobby Lobby and The Little Sisters of the Poor take on the Goliath, not the GOP

While the GOP huffs and puffs about the lawless Obama administration, it apparently is now up to individual patriots to try to stop the freight train. I was particularly struck when I caught this video of the Green family owners of Hobby Lobby over at  Catholic Libertarian. It is easy to picture the folks at Hobby Lobby as less than real people, but as a  corporation. Meet the Green family as they do battle with the Goliath. Let us not forget the Little Sisters of the Poor. As Teresa Rice states on her blog:

God Bless the Green family.  Please support Hobby Lobby.

Brings us this: On March 25, 2014, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., a case arising out of the commitment of Hobby Lobby owners David and Barbara Green and their family to live out their deeply held religious convictions by “operating their company in a manner consistent with biblical principles.”

The family believes that this commitment is the reason that Hobby Lobby, which began out of the garage, has grown from one 300-square-foot store to one of the nation’s leading arts and crafts retailers with more than 550 stores in 45 states.

And let us not forget The Little Sisters of the Poor:

The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international Roman Catholic Congregation of women Religious founded in 1839 by St. Jeanne Jugan. They operate homes in 31 countries, where they provide loving care for over 13,000 needy elderly persons.

Although the Little Sisters’ homes perform a religious ministry of caring for the elderly poor, they do not fall within the government’s narrow exemption for “religious employers.” Accordingly, beginning on January 1, the Little Sisters will face IRS fines unless they violate their religion by hiring an insurer to provide their employees with contraceptives, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs.

The establishment Republicans put on a good front with their words but when push comes to shove they do nothing about it. I just finished a post about how the GOP wants the IRS to target the Tea Party because they are a threat to the status quo, therefor it is going to be up to individual Americans and people like those you highlighted above to fight for freedom because the GOP is not with us. They are part of the elitist establishment and their number one priority is protecting themselves.

We have met the enemy and he is among us sadly. The GOP needs to go the way of other past political parties.

The left will have it both ways; Free birth control pills, with free abortion as a back up. Meanwhile they push unwed mothers pooping out babies faster than a speeding bullet as an exercise in women’s liberating entitlement. And our entitlement comes in the form of support for moms and babies through our taxes. How many of you out there know that on the first of the month when the gov’t entitlement check comes it is split among the multiple fathers who arrive to pick up their share of the vig? Rather than stop the fraud which is instrumental in helping to bankrupt the country it is a much more efficient use of taxpayers’ money to harass those entities refusing to take part in the scheme. Maybe the Christian cChurch should become an appendage of Islam. Then most assuredly no city, state, county or federal government would dare drag them into court.

I honestly cannot keep up with all the machinations of the Obama administration.

There are several different ways they are using the IRS to shut us up.
Since they use executive orders to amend the Obamacare law, it has become ObamaDon’tCareWhatLawCongressPassed.
Because they won’t defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the legal definition may soon not match biological reality.
Because they want cheap labor for their corporate buddies, they have left America’s borders undefended.
Because they will not control spending, they have exploded our nation’s budget. Thanks also to Big Government Democrats and Republicans, Congress now equates raising the debt ceiling with responsible budgeting.
    And so forth.

Yet BUNKERVILLE | God, Guns and Guts Comrades!‘s Hobby Lobby and The Little Sisters of the Poor take on the Goliath, not the GOP describes the most direct and the most damaging violation of our rights. Freedom of religion — the individual’s freedom to live out his or her beliefs — is at its core what it means to be an American. Unless we allow each other the freedom to put what what we believe about God into practice, we have no freedom worth mentioning. We just have government overseers who can boss us around.

Thank you for the mention, linkage, and posting the video. Great post!! This assault on first amendment rights is atrocious. These rights are not dependent on persons being a religious employer. These are God-given rights for each of us regardless of where we work. The Obama admin’s coercive thuggery goes against every principle established in America’s founding. We know these people need to be stopped but, how do we stop them? Thinking …

If the Supreme Court rules against Hobby Lobby, they will close every one of their stores and 28K people will be out of work. This will make Obama and his handlers very happy. They will spin it to show how “Christians are so heartless” and the useful idiots will buy it.

They included the whole abortion and contraception thingy for just this reason. Women have been purchasing their own birth control for 60 years, but suddenly it’s a big issue?? Anyone who doesn’t believe this is a set-up needs to pull their head out of their rear patoot.
