Red Flag law turns deadly – Officer kills man

Will this death go down as the first “Red Flag” death? This does not bode well for the police. They are now the designated arbiter to do the collection of weapons? I would suggest that going to a house in Baltimore at 5:17 am is not the best time to collect a weapon. One might find someone with a handgun at the ready.

FERNADALE, Md. (WJZ) — A 61-year-old man is dead after he was shot by an officer trying to enforce Maryland’s new ‘red flag’ law in Ferndale Monday morning.

Anne Arundel County Police confirmed the police-involved shooting happened in the 100 block of Linwood Avenue around 5:17 a.m.

According to police, two officers serving a new Extreme Risk Protective Order (Red Flag Law), a Maryland protective order to remove guns from a household, shot and killed the man listed on that order.

“Under the law, family, police, mental health professionals can all ask for the protective orders to remove weapons,” said Sgt. Jacklyn David, with Anne Arundel County Police.

Other than that, all is well in the swamp.

Ohio is going to pass a red flag law.

Texas just passed 10 laws protective of gun owners and carriers. It is looking like a pretty attractive place to retire to.

I’d almost like to be around when they’re finally able to repeal the 2nd Amendment, confiscate the guns of law abiding citizens, then watch as the mass shootings and other personal attacks like home invasions increase so I could ask them, well what do you think about That ya dumb F’s. Gee what could be the problem here !?

No, but they sure will figure out how to get our guns and ammo… Hssan is a prime example. At the least we will end up in court….if we have the money… fighting to keep our guns after our neighbors turn us in… in true facist style.

I don’t remember how long ago, but there was a story of a death due to the ordered confiscation of guns following the creation of a red flag law. I seem to remember it having happened in Colorado.

John is the owner of a firearm. In his mid-40’s, he’s served his country in uniform and went on to have a successful career. But life isn’t always fair and John and his wife are having marital issues. She wants to leave him and take the kids. John, being an intelligent person, realizes that he is having a lot of stress in his life, so he seeks out a mental health professional … someone who might help him straighten out his life. The minute John walks into the doctor’s office, he is flagged. A gunowner with mental health problems. In this scenario, John is a target for gun confiscation under the red flag order. All that’s needed is for John’s wife to say (even without valid justification) that she’s afraid what John might do. The road to hell is paved with good intention. Now here’s the thing: this law provides a motive for people NOT to seek out mental health therapy. Have we produced a better safer society, or have we made society less safe? I think the word for this is “stupid.”

Well done Mustang as you can do it…. if this doesn’t harken back to the days of Nazi Germany and yet the people who condone this are the very ones who accuse the accuser. of being these terrible Nationalists. as said before. “Nuts.”

Perfect analogy Mustang. I can’t help believing that this is another lost battle in a war we cannot win. Socialists, communists, media, elites, academia, stupid uninformed politically unsophisticated indifferent Americans, milk toast right wing politicians all stacked up against this once great republic. MAGA hats will not, cannot turn the tide.

This is a real concern (red flag laws). A neighbor could decide one day to start trouble and take a complaint out against you and bam, your targeted for red flag law with no due process. It is scary, very scary. We were discussing last night that if NY got an stricter, we would be forced to move. I simply will not live in a state that endorses this crap. Another play in the Alsinky playbook…that and the false crap about white privilege.
