So much for McCarthy and the broom that was suppose to sweep clean with his picks of new Committee Chairs. Tucker Carlson opines: “This is a middle finger in your face.” Between the House Armed Service Committee Chair and the House Financial Services Chair as picks, I will join Tucker in his position. Middle finger it is.
Too bad Michael McCall (R) of Texas chairman of House Foreign Affairs Committee has turned out to be a Swamp RINO. He wants to send tanks to Ukraine and keep the money flowing without any oversight.
Let’s start with the Chair of the all powerful House Financial Services Committee. Patrick McHenry out of North Carolina.
Republican congressman Patrick McHenry (N.C.), now the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, announced earlier this month that there would be six subcommittees—and all of them will count advancing “diversity and inclusion” as one of their top priorities, according to the committee’s announcement.
Diversity and inclusion, two members of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion triumvirate now commonly referred to as DEI, have become an obsession for Democrats and left-wing activists in recent years. Republicans won a narrow majority in the midterm elections at least in part due to promises that they would end the Democrats’ DEI craze. It was a common barb from the Republican National Committee, for example, that “Democrats prioritize wokeness over solving real problems.”
Democrats Are Campaigning On Woke, Radical Policies Rather Than Focusing On Fighting Inflation Or Making Communities Safer
Well, here we are.
Subcommittees, Chairs, and Jurisdiction:
Subcommittee on Capital Markets—Rep. Ann Wagner (MO-02)
- Identifying best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the capital markets industry
Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy—Rep. Andy Barr (KY-06)
Identifying best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the capital markets industry
Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion—Rep. French Hill (AR-02)
Identifying best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the capital markets industry
Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions—Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03)
Identifying best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the capital markets industry
Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations—Rep. Bill Huizenga (MI-04)
The subcommittee’s jurisdiction will cover, among other things:
- Overseeing all agencies, departments, programs and matters within the Financial Services Committee’s jurisdiction, including agency and programmatic commitment to diversity and inclusion policies and best practices
Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance—Rep. Warren Davidson (OH-08)
The subcommittee’s jurisdiction will cover, among other things:
- Developing and pursuing policies that increase and strengthen our housing market, including increasing our nation’s housing supply
- Overseeing HUD and FHFA policies and operations
- Identifying best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the housing industry

Then we have Michael McCall….
There you have it!
Tucker had an opinion on how the GOP House is shaping up and he just added to the list of disappointments.
Tucker: This is a middle finger in your face
Now that the Senate is back after taking off the first three weeks, of course Lindsay Graham just has to be out there with his nonsense and Fox is eating it up.
The best of the swamp today.

Then there is this: https://www.westernjournal.com/mccarthy-completely-annihilates-reporter-questioning-decision-remove-schiff-swalwell-committee/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=WJBreaking&utm_campaign=ct-breaking&utm_content=western-journal
“’m going to be very clear with you. The Intel Committee is different. You know why? Because what happens in the Intel Committee, you don’t know. What happens in the Intel Committee, all of the secrets that are going on in the world — other members of Congress don’t know.
“What did Adam Schiff do as the chairman of the Intel Committee? What Adam Schiff did was use his power as a chairman and lie to the American public. …”
Who knew he was up to this?

“best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion”
THIS IS NOT HARD! Drop the racism of low expectations. Actually teach students solid basics that make them competitive, functional adults with good habits that make them desirable employees and good mates. Make college admissions competitive for all. Drop the woke crap. There. DONE.
Now, 60 years ago this would not have been all. Things have changed. Problem is 🙂 colleges will be overrun with Chinese (ever been to the UCI Irvine campus?) and the complainers would still be bitching about equity.
… As happened in Malaysia. Chinese families moved in during colonial times to work on the rubber plantations. They tended to work very hard, save and provide a strong education for their best and brightest who got into University out of all disproportion to their numbers. They moved into finance and had powerful influences in the country. Native Malays complained. They wanted equity in higher education and quotas to make sure they could get into school – without having to possess the superior study and work habits Chinese applicants had. So the government caved. More Malays got into college. And as Thomas Sowell says, the Chinese continued to study business, banking, finance, etc., while the Malays studied ‘Malay Studies’ and still could not complete. A broad brush to be sure, but a cautionary tale which we are repeating today.

No question… the Chinese students in my classes years ago were driven….not flashy, but if you needed any help… they knew.

I think members of Congress are much like journalists. There is so much “out there” to know, no one can claim to know everything about it. Garbage in/garbage out. For example, I suppose that “Identifying best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the capital markets industry” means that you can get a zero-interest loan to invest in capital markets. Boom: 1929 redux.
Or possibly, Congress is following the example of schools that, each year, must develop a mission statement that includes the words “child,” “learn,” “safe,” “nurture,” “value,” and “cherish.” You know — where words never mean anything, but it does cross the T and dot the i for compliance with the equal opportunities commission, each member of which earns $185,000/annually.

I would like to know how this all came about… McCarthy orchestrated this? That is the more intriguing for me… This Patrick McHenry… how did he rise to the top of this part of the swamp?
P.S. I have been following my new brain dead Dem Senator to see what committees he is granted.. Should be fun.
Here is what is on his new home page.

Tanks in Ukraine=Bomb Magnets.
As for the GOP Swamp rising: who’s surprised? The only two times I can remember Republicans actually doing anything were Reagan and Trump—and both of them had to fight their own party to accomplish what they did.

BTW, what ever happened to the invincible HIMARS? I thought those were going to spearhead a great Ukro counter-offensive and take back all the lost turf by now.
I read in the news this morning that a third member nation of the African Union booted out NATO ‘peacekeeping’ forces and signed a military deal with Russia.

My guess is that the President of Ukraine and the President of Russia have conspired with each other to keep this going for as long as Biden is in the White House. It’s the best of all possible worlds: scam the American Taxpayer for goodies and create a nice defense industry for Russia that currently has people standing in line for the latest whiz-bangs. I would like to see if we could go a full generation without meddling in other people’s business. Of course, a meteor landing inside the beltway would be good, too.

+1. We need to go back to Eisenhower’s military-industrial complex speech. Only with the third element added that he declined to use in the final version: government.

I am always told that Susan Collins needs to run as a near-Democrat due to her constituency. Maybe so — insanity could well reign there. The same might be said of Missouri (which I would say rhymes with “misery”).
Somehow, it all fits.

I want my Abrams and I want them now!
And these idiots will probably accommodate him.
Is this McCarthy’s reaction to being forced to make some changes in other areas.

This is only the beginning of the end, of the dark days ahead.
In 1849, French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr wrote “plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose “ – the more things change, the more they stay the same… Turbulent changes do not affect reality on a deeper level other than to cement the status quo.
