WWIII: Ukraine to Get U.S. and German Tanks. Six More Countries will or are Considering it

News: Tanks are on the way to Ukraine. Reports are being made that Ukraine is considering taking back Crimea. Poland and other countries are making plans to send tanks.

Why the change in the tank plan? Below is a fascinating video report from DW – Germany’s Public TV covering the issue and gives us the inside story that we here in the States are not getting. For one, Germany has been working behind the scene to build a European coalition.

If one had any concern about this turning into WWIII  there is plenty find.

As the war nears the one year mark, Biden has announced an escalation. The West is celebrating German tanks rolling across Europe because that’s worked out so well in the past

Berlin’s move paves the way for pledges from other countries that field Leopards, which Germany made in the thousands and exported to allies. Finland said it would send them, as did Poland, which has already sought Berlin’s approval.

Spain and the Netherlands said they were considering it, and Norway was reported to be discussing it. Britain has offered a company of 14 of its comparable Challengers, and France is considering sending its Leclercs.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told German media that the tanks would provide needed support.

“They do only one very important thing—they motivate our soldiers to fight for their own values, because they show that the whole world is with you,” Zelenskyy told Germany’s ARD channel.

Who do you think it going to operate those tanks that are complicated and difficult to maintain? Geller Report

What could look worse than to see our tanks as well as others, left as burned out skeletons on the battlefield?

Yes indeed.

If you missed this gem yesterday here is your second chance.

The best of the swamp today.

Just remember Joe Biden was apparently an unregistered paid agent of the Ukrainian government. Are things clearer? No surprise the Dems don’t want an audit of our money to Ukraine. Probably ANY audit of any of our money would be terrifying to them.

It’s to our eternal shame we put this cheap power hustler in an office where he can do so much damage.

So the DOJ will give nothing to the intelligence committee…. now we shall see how this turns out…. we may find out which side is the paper tiger… If they have to give out the 150 questionable banking activities of his son, he may be through…

Bunk, I am burying this in here because it is definitely off topic. But addresses something you write of regularly. It was good to see real crime fighting. Not pre-crime fighting that has nothing to do with prevention.
“The FBI on Thursday revealed it had secretly hacked and disrupted a prolific ransomware gang called Hive, a maneuver that allowed the bureau to thwart the group from collecting more than $130 million in ransomware demands from more than 300 victims.”

    One additional thought:

Some time ago, I began working up a post on Ukraine’s history. I made several stabs at it and finally gave it up because it was too convoluted and far too boring. What I found interesting was that, as it turns out, Vladimir Putin is the only Russian to serve as leader of that country since the Tsar. Everyone else has either been a Ukrainian or a Georgian. This means that, in running to the aid of Ukraine, we are only bolstering the former Soviet Union. In that regard, we should be on Putin’s side. So I ask you, who except the most intellectually gifted will understand any of this, particularly regarding U.S. policy in Eastern Europe?

What we have to bear in mind is that U.S. foreign policy is a disaster and has been for seven or eight decades, and when you reduce this down to the lowest common denominator, what really matters is that the average salary inside the Department of State is around $104,000 per year. Beyond that, who didn’t know in 2020 that Joe Biden was a walking calamity?

    Dear World

We really do wish ya’ll would stop fighting amongst yourselves and remember what the good Lord told us about turning the other cheek and loving your neighbor. Please think about this, and realize that blowing up people, mostly the innocent people who couldn’t get out of the way, isn’t very nice.

    Your friend,

    Joe Biden, Staunch Catholic

      Mustang,
Do you remember how the stinger missiles that went to the Afghanis fighting the Russians sort of came back to bite us? How the heck will the Air Force Biden left the Afghanis plus the tanks he has gifted the border of Russia come back in years future?

Therein lies the sin, Mark. Those nitwits “we the people” elected have made sure that some child recently born will die from a weapon made in America and sold to a swine by a Democrat. And the beat goes on …

For some reason people can’t seem to get the hang of it…. all these different tanks from different countries will have to be maintained and who is going to run them? Then men will be killed from these countries and there we go.

Now this nitwit wants Crimea back… where are the headlines? Congress?

Tell me, in the report they keep saying that Germany must approve these different countries sending tanks… whats that all about?

        Some background

Thee Leopard II Battle Tank was first introduced in 1979. Since then, the weapon has been incorporated into 13 European armies: Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.

Altogether, there are 2,000 Leopard II vehicles in service — but of different variants and levels of readiness. Half of these weapons are either 2A4 or 2A5 … which makes the issue one of replacement parts. Germany has the lead because German industry will provide not only updated variants but also the parts to keep the vehicles in service. To simplify, soon, 14 countries will field this German vehicle and will require adequate re-armaments and replacement parts. German industry will provide these materials, so Germany is in the driver’s seat.

So, if all this is true, why is the U.S. sending its M1A2 Abrams to Ukraine? I have no idea. Ukraine would be silly to prefer a tank where parts are difficult to obtain, over a tank where parts are only three days away by rail.

On the other hand, I’m sure Ukraine could make a lot of money by selling the Abrams to a country like N. Korea, China, Turkey, Iran, Syria … on the side, of course, and some of this would get back to the Biden coffers. For the grandkids, you know.

Still, so far, the U.S. has provided Ukraine with twice as much of everything than Germany … so I have to admit that the situation confuses me (as does most U.S. policy originating at Foggy Bottom).

I watch the German Public TV clips most days… it has been my take that it is Germany who is really beating the drums for these tanks being sent… no doubt I see as your comment, money in the til for them. At the same time wanting the rest of the Europe to pitch in since they are their tanks.. now makes sense….

Talk about making Russia nervous and upset. Meanwhile, it is claimed our tanks are not appropriate. So Biden caves. Figures…

If the Abrams isn’t “appropriate,” it probably has more to do with fuel than its weapons systems.

And, of course, we lost a U.S. Ambassador because Hillary Clinton, as SecState, was trying to hide the fact that the U.S. lost control of 20,000 stinger missiles in Libya.

If nothing else, the U.S. provides entertainment for the rest of the world … kind of like the Prime Video of the diplomatic community.

Abrams tanks have, to this point, been shielded by layers of depleted uranium. Will these special Ukrainian Abrams tanks be shielded by blocks of cash?

Should we guess the Greens stopped the Abrams being refitted for electric power (ha ha ha)once they found out they would require burning dirty disgusting coal to supply the needed current…or maybe it was the difficulty in trying to find an Exxon-Mobil station in no man’s land with charging capability or maybe converting 60 cycle electric tanks to 50 cycles may have proven as dopey as Hitler’s trains not matching up with Russian gauge railroad tracks forcing his army being re-supplied by horse drawn vegetable carts. Bottom line …the bottom line, how will the vig be funneled to the Biden’s for keeping his war going.

So, who is really going to be manning these tanks? NATO contractors most likely. The minute they cross the border into Ukraine they become a legitimate target for the Russian and it’s a long way from western Ukraine to the Eastern front.

According to the German report, a number of our military said our tanks were to not appropriate for the land… and running on jet fuel will be difficult to supply….Ukraine won’t be able to maintain them, and I read not so easy to drive… We are going to get snagged into this as well as the rest of NATO… looks like only you and a few others seem to see a problem here… Duck and Cover coming to our town soon.

Guns don’t kill people; people kill people. But it is a wonder why the United States government continues to place guns into the hands of murderers, rapists, and other scurrilous swine. When I look at the picture of Ukraine’s top-most officials, I see relatively young men dressed up like bit players in an Arnold Schwarzenegger film about the Ukraine mafia. These people line their pockets with taxpayer money provided by a brain-dead presidential leader of a neo-communist political party — who hasn’t gotten anything right in over fifty years of public trough gouging. And they would slit your throat while lighting up a Turkish tobacco cigarette just to blow smoke into your face during your last breath. And they’re our allies because …. ????

I am sure that Biden would say that they are our allies because they launder money back to politicians so well. Not that he would say that on anything but a live mike with his famous stage whisper.
