Samantha Power celebrates fertilizer shortages that threaten the food supply and will force farmers to ‘hasten transitions.’

You know, farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil, and you’re a thousand miles from the corn field.” Love this quote by President Eisenhower. The ruling class is clueless when it comes to producing food. Just who is Samantha? One dangerous lady who dislikes America with a passion. More to follow.

Our gal Samantha. Never was there a war she didn’t like. She, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton who managed to blow up the Middle East and who can forget Libya. Back in 2011 I posted:

Three women who brought us the new long war in Libya

So she breeches again. How about the food shortages in Libya Samantha?

A Biden administration member said that “catastrophic” food and fertilizer shortages caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine are a great opportunity to implement left-wing policies.

Samantha Power, the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, made the comments during an interview with “This Week” on Sunday.

“We’re seeing global food shortages all around the world,” said anchor George Stephanopoulos, “as the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, what more can be done to address those shortages?”

Hint: Power said they were working to increase food production from farmers, but also wanted to use the opportunity to make farmers choose green energy alternatives to fertilizer.

Flashback

In 2002 Samantha Power made a statement, calling for a U.S. military invasion of Israel. Full transcript available at the youtube site.

Commentary Magazine: (An excellent piece, well worth the full read on our gal)

In a 2003 article for the New Republic, Power:  “The U.S,” she wrote, “came to be seen less as it sees itself (the cop protecting the world from rogue nations) than as the very runaway state international law needs to contain.”

Power wrote that America’s record in world affairs had been so harmful to the freedoms of people around the world that the United States could remedy the problem only through profound self-criticism and the wholesale adoption of new policies. Acknowledging that President Bush was correct in saying that “some America-bashers” hate the American people’s freedoms, Ms. Power stated that much anti-Americanism derives from the role that U.S. power “has played in denying such freedoms to others” and concluded:

U.S. foreign policy has to be rethought. It needs not tweaking but overhauling….Instituting a doctrine of mea culpa would enhance our credibility by showing that American decision-makers do not endorse the sins of their predecessors. When [then German Chancellor] Willie [sic] Brandt went down on one knee in the Warsaw ghetto, his gesture was gratifying to World War II survivors, but it was also ennobling and cathartic for Germany. Would such an approach be futile for the United States?

“Green energy alternatives to fertilizer” is just reflexive authoritarian bull s**t. BTW, there are FABULOUS alternatives to the chemical fertilizers which build topsoil quickly, nourish crops – and hence people – better, sequester precious water and carbon in copious amounts, and reclaim lost land. It’s been proven around the globe. See Gabe Brown’s Dirt to Soil for domestic, and the Savory Institute which grandfathered the principles by which land and lives have been saved. And this transition is relatively quick, but politically impossible with the big ag lobby and Bill Gates poking his ignorant nose into affairs he knows little about.

Unfortunately, THIS isn’t what she means. What she means is “here’s another emotionally reflexive sound bite to take advantage of the current handy crisis to control you.” The rest, about a genuine food crisis, is true. I prayed for this in our bible study. As people prayed for Ukraine with a general “please stop the war God” I focused on the impacts on this farming season and the lands beyond that rely on Ukraine’s food. Red Famine still burns in my memory.

Yes, the ruling class is clueless when it comes to producing food. But they are skilled in getting what they want for themselves and in giving your stuff away to others without regard for your health or welfare to promote their leveling agenda that tears us down and empowers them. Bunk is right. This is far from the final play. So for now, buy food!

I agree with Mark, too. It makes a handy play to demonize Russia as another swipe at Trump for Hillary’s defeat.

Russia invading Ukraine did not CAUSE these problems – fertilizer shortage, food shortage, high gas prices, supply chain issues!!!

COVID and the IRRESPONSIBLE lockdowns worldwide caused this!!!

Since globalists – including the good old U S of A – were the ones who created covid and released it…then locked down the world….THEY are the ones who DELIBERATELY created this crisis and now aren’t letting ot go to waste.

    I loathe these people!!!

Last summer I said to family and friends, “by next summer (2022), the US will be Venezuela,” (empty shelves at the supermarket, no energy, no nothing). I think I was off by 18 months. This year’s winter could be the Dark Winter Diaper President warned about.

We all need to pray so darn hard and unceasingly for the salvation of our country.

In order to never let a good crisis go to waste one must first create a crisis. The Clown Circus also known as the Harris/Biden regime is not satisfied with the run-of-the-mill, every day crises occurring across the globe. No, they must create more unique varieties to further crash the machine of free market economics. What appears as simply gross incompetence to the naive is really a deliberate, World Economic Forum drive campaign to disrupt the world and replace the classical liberal order with totalitarianism. We are watching it unfold. In re Powers: There are fools and there are useful fools.

This is a small point, but when she advocates the use of “natural fertilizers like manure and compost” she betrays ignorance. Compost is a useful soil amendment but it is NOT fertilizer, as it contains no nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium or the like.

    • markone1blog Says:

Actually, compost can rob the soil of nitrogen (depending on the stage of decomposition). Still, as a carbon-rich compound, it might release a little nitrogen in later stages of decomp.

I have always added chicken manure to the compost (which I use on a lemon tree — something that is notoriously always in need of nitrogen).

    • Baysider Says:

Compost is a kind of fertilizer. It has macro and micro nutrients. But it is not a huge, fact acting supply of one of the big 3. It brings oodles of worms and conditions the soil to hold water better. Honestly, you can dump in old eggs (or a dead chicken) near a grow row and get better plants. You can do the same with veggie scraps but must wait! Mark’s right, if it isn’t fully composted it can rob the soil of the nitrogen it will take first to do that. I’m torn this spring. I grew a cover crop in my best garden spot, which I will spade in as soon as the vetch flowers. Threw in a bunch of biochar, too. But spading in all that green will rob new plants of the nitrogen they need. Patience, patience.

And this is the problem with the Big Ag perspective. Our way is labor intensive, and takes a far nimbler mind than spraying fertilizer over a monocrop on an automated system.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it “very odd” that the people whom the Jews/Israelis most admire, the communists, are the very people who (next to Palestinians) most seek to destroy Israel?

I can introduce you to some uber rich self hating New York Jews who would break bread with ex-nazis rather than with Trump. Dr Michael Savage calls them red diaper dopper babies raised on the linoleum kitchen floor of their walk up flat. I’ve always characterized their unwavering devotion to those who would need no excuse to wipe them out as a generational rite of passage. Bernie in his filthy unpressed Moe Ginsberg suit anyone?

Sociobiology….by Wilson is a textbook that covers it. I took the last class at Penn taught on the subject… explains a lot.

I think America’s politics has always been over-populated by low creatures. All that has really changed, say since the 1930s and 1940s is that we transitioned from gangster-like back-room boys capable of cold-blooded murder (LBJ comes to mind) to radical communists reminiscent of the lawyers who murdered the Russian Czar and his family in cold blood (Samantha Power comes to mind). Yesterday’s filth was simply lumpier.

Yes, since Russia is at war with Ukraine and Russia has suspended oil/gas exports to countries sanctioning Russia (and since urea, a compound used in the creation of nitrogenous fertilizers, is derived from oil), we are seeing a resulting decrease in fertilizer.

However, don’t forget that some 2 years ago, America was not throttled by someone, um can anyone remember who:
    1. Shut down major pipelines in favor of tankers
    2. Shut our federal lands (ANWR, the majority of land in the Western states, off shore drilling, …)
    3. Raised fees on drilling permits nine times the previous levels while saying “there are 9,000 oil leases out there” and “greedy oil companies”
