The Sad State of the GOP – Nearly Censored Romney, Nearly removed Cheney, …

The operative statement is that Mitt Romney “nearly” got booed off the stage. Just as he got “nearly” censored by the Utah GOP party 798-711. Just as Liz Cheney “nearly” got removed from leadership of the GOP party.

Then we have Susan Collins chiming in about the absurd “big tent” nonsense. Sure, every party needs to include those who would oust by impeachment their own party President. What an absurd interview with Jake Tapper on CNN on Sunday. Of course she adds in her support for Liz Cheney. One thing for the Dems, they are prepared not only to support their senile old fool Biden to the death but follow him as he takes them over the cliff. Non dare challenge their leadership Pelosi.

Hope springs eternal or so it says. Tucker Carlson summed up the situation perfectly on Friday’s show. The coup de grâce is having on board Frank Luntz.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Susan Collins was “appalled” at the treatment fellow Republican Sen. Mitt Romney received Saturday by his state lawmakers, many of whom wanted to punish him for trying to impeach former President Donald Trump.

“We are not a party that is led by just one person,” Collins, R-Maine, said Sunday during an interview with CNN’s “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper.

Some Republicans in Utah suggested a censure of Romney, R-Utah, for his impeachment vote in January. Romney was one of seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump.

On Saturday, Romney entered the chamber in Utah to a chorus of boos from his fellow lawmakers, but the vote to censure the senator ultimately failed 798-711 in the state GOP convention.

Does anyone really believe that Liz Cheney will be gone anytime soon? Where have I heard that before. Not unless Wyoming sends her packing, but then again rumbles are out there that she wants to run for President and take on Trump. Good luck with that.

Bonus: Note her mask indicates KN95 – KN means it was made in China… Just saying…

Gooden declared, “Liz Cheney has promised she will campaign on impeaching Trump ‘every day of the week.’ Good luck with that, Liz! PREDICTION: she’ll be out of her GOP leadership role by month’s end!”

Tucker on why you probably don’t recognize the Republican party

That’s the best from the swamp today.

Supreme nominee Kavanaugh – waiting for Rosenstein’s vetting report!

I’m waiting for an upcoming surprise with the Supreme court nominee.. so says Bunkerville. I’ll call this a sleeper. While the Dems are calling for tons of documents, meanwhile Rosenstein’s little Santa’s Helpers are pouring all over them. Back in July I posted

Rosenstein to unleash 300 Federal Prosecutors to vett Kavanaugh

Do we all think that the Dems have rolled over for this nominee? I just read that Collins and Murkowski are meeting this week with him. Look for a September surprise. Looking back:

Rosenstein says he needs these prosecutors to “review” the documents of Kavanaugh. Why is Rosenstein taking this over? Kavanaugh was vetted when he took his seat on the D.C.court. For the last two years we kept hearing how this fellow had been looked over by the attorneys and everyone else of consequence.

First, he was involved in the Bush Florida debacle of vote counting that went to the Supremes. Great. All those documents will be reviewed. Then we have all the years of the Starr investigation.

Lets do Whitewater one more time. Then all those opinions during the Bush years.

Now that will be rich going down that memory lane looking for Kavanuagh misdeeds. After all, that’s what prosecutors do. Hmm I wonder if the prosecutors will look into his handling of Vince Foster death?

We have years with the Bush and his position. All these documents!

A protégé of Kenneth Starr, Kavanaugh played a lead role in drafting the Starr report, which urged the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.[1] Kavanaugh also led the investigation into the suicide of Clinton aide Vincent Foster. (Yes, he was young but was willing to play the game, forget the morality of it and take the hit for the swamp.)

After the 2000 U.S. Presidential election, in which Kavanaugh worked for the George W. Bush campaign in the Florida recount,

Kavanaugh joined Bush’s staff.Prior to his Supreme Court clerkship, Kavanaugh earned a one-year fellowship in the Office of the Solicitor General of the United States, Kenneth Starr, during which he worked on the Whitewater investigation.

There has not been one peep about any of this. Let’s see how the next couple of weeks go.

Back to the update:

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, is planning a series of tough questions when she meets with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh Tuesday, she told reporters.

Collins and Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, will meet separately with Kavanaugh this week ahead of his Sept. 4 confirmation hearing.

The two are pivotal votes in the confirmation of Kavanaugh, a conservative pick who progressives say is a threat to upholding legal abortion and Obamacare.

Collins said she has been reviewing Kavanaugh’s extensive record as a federal judge, law school lecturer, and former Bush administration aide “for weeks,” she said.

“I’ve got extensive questions on a number of issues,” Collins said.

Lieberman:”Why no mention of Terrorism in report?

Great to see that Collins and Lieberman are still holding the Obama’s  feet  to the fire regarding the attempt to bury the Ft. Hood Massacre story. We have the right to know. The families have the right to know.

Sen. Lieberman ‘Startled’ by Pentagon’s Failure to Mention ‘Islamist Terrorism’ In Report on Ft. Hood Massacre

Good questions, how did he get the Ammo. How did he get this non-standard gun.Let me explain, even the Military does not teach the use of such weapons and does not have access to them for the reason that using such Ammo is against the Geneva Convention.   Better question. Fort Hood, a military base, and not one soldier had a gun? The Civilian Police had to come to the rescue? See my earlier post:

“We have been met with much foot dragging, limited direct assistance, and changing reasons why the Administration cannot provide us with the information we have requested,” said Lieberman”

“I was startled and really upset that in the whole report that Secretary [Togo] West and Adm. [Vernon] Clark did on this Ft. Hood massacre, they never used the terms radical Islamist extremism or violent Islamic terrorism,” said Lieberman, who caucuses with Democrats.

“It’s known to anybody following your media outlets … [that] this was not just a random killing,” Lieberman said, adding that the Ft. Hood shooter, Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, “was motivated ideologically and shouted out such words as he committed these, these murders.”
