School battle: Mascot team name ‘Stallions’ too sexist

New Sport Team Mascot Battle: The name ‘Stallions’ is too sexist…

Daily Gator, Weasel Zippers and Breitbart noted this story: apparently the name Stallions is too sexist for a sport team mascot name…in Kentucky.  Last time I checked they had a lot of stallions in Kentucky.
A school district in Kentucky has canceled the school’s “Stallions” mascot after a petition from the community argued that the mascot was “inappropriate and sexist.”

Caulk declared that the students of Frederick Douglass High School will have the opportunity to choose their mascot from a slate of horse-themed options:

“Moving forward, we will keep the Keeneland green and orange colors and horse image in the school logo to pay homage to Lexington’s rich history in the horse industry, but we will allow the incoming students of Frederick Douglass High School to choose their mascot,” Superintendent Caulk said in a statement late Tuesday. “We’ve already received suggestions of Thoroughbreds or Racers as possible alternatives to Stallions and we will solicit additional ideas from our students before they choose a horse-themed mascot grounded in the land’s equestrian heritage.”

While the decision reeks of sexism, the word stallion itself is not sexist at all. Rather, I think they mean the name Stallions is too male.

Then there is always the cow.

Hannah Simpson, of Southland, New Zealand, rides a 7-year-old dairy cow most days. It started when her parents said she wasn’t allowed to have a horse, the then-11-year-old got creative. Now she and Lilac race across fields and master jumps, as documented on Simpson’s Instagram page. Simpson, who works at a dairy farm, says she’s tried to ride other cows but has only had one other that could jump. While Simpson admits she was a particularly adventurous kid when she started, she wouldn’t necessarily advise other people to try riding cows.

What happens to the baker, photographer who refuses a confederate wedding ceremony?

I think that this sums up the absurdity of the day. What does happen when the thought police move on to the Confederate flag, statute or any item that reflects our past history? After we of course erase Hamilton from our $10.00 bill and replace it with a black female. Standard operating procedures for any totalitarian regime coming into power.

    1. Q. What happens to the baker, photographer, or caterer who refuses to service a Confederate wedding ceremony?

UK Liberty GB party candidate Weston arrested for quoting Winston Churchill

Great Britain reaches a new low in political correctness. So now Winston Churchill would be arrested if he were alive today. Winston had it right back in the day. But forget that. The thought police are in full control.

Quoting from the great WWII statesman Winston Churchill’s literary work, for which he won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953, has become a criminal offence in the UK—as it seems.

Paul Weston, chairman of the UK’s Liberty GB party and a candidate in the 22 May European Parliament Elections, was arrested by the British police on 26 April for quoting a passage from Winston Churchill’s book.

At around 2pm, Weston was addressing the passers-by on the street from the steps of Winchester Guildhall with a megaphone. He quoted the following passage about Islam from Churchill book, The River War:

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.”

Reportedly a woman, who found the passage “disgusting”, came out of the Guildhall and called the police.

Responding to her call, six or seven police officers arrived and questioned Weston for about 40 minutes.

At about 3pm, they arrested and searched him, and took him away in a police van.

Shooting spitwads called ‘violent criminal conduct’

Here is a classic example of political correction gone astray. Spitwads are now a  weapon to be controlled at any cost. And our courts? Happy to take on this criminal behavior, while the country sinks into the abyss.

School officials referred the student, Andrew Mikel II, to the local police department at the time.

The Rutherford appeal notes that no one was hurt, and there was no indication that there was any desire to injure anyone, so the school’s actions “were excessively punitive and violate the constitutional guarantee to due process of law.”

The consequences were the suspension, juvenile criminal proceedings for assault, a resulting diversion program with mandatory substance abuse and anger management counseling.

A circuit court affirmed the school board’s decision even while describing it as “incongruous,” because it wouldn’t call the actions an abuse of discretion. Then why rule the way you did? Just asking.

The state Supreme Court in Virginia is being asked to overturn a decision by a local school board that called a student’s confession of shooting spitwads at fellow students “violent criminal conduct” that involved “attempting to kill, shoot, stab, cut, wound, otherwise physically injure or batter another person.” It will be interesting to see how the court rules, if it confirms the lower court decision, we are indeed lost.

The appeal has been filed by attorneys with the Rutherford Institute in a case involving a 9th grade student at Spotsylvania High, who was sent to the principal’s office after shooting a handful of small, hollow pellets akin to plastic spitwads at fellow students. He was expelled for a year.
