USA puts out video of ‘possible’ modifications to Texas shooter’s rifle including a chain saw bayonet

Don’t expect the second part of that story to receive emphasis from the “mainstream” media, which has been on a jihad to ban America’s Rifle for years. The laws are in place that should have stopped the gunman from legally buying a gun. Period. In the video below, USA Today shows just how terrifying an AR-15 can be if you add various attachments — including a chainsaw bayonet. This appears to be completely on the level:

There really is such a thing as a chainsaw bayonet. Hey liberal media establishment, it is a joke:

You’ll have to pull my chainsaw out of my cold dead hands.

Obama finalizes Social Security gun ban ‘rule’

Obama is dropping a whole lot of goodies down our chimney before he exits. As if selling Israel down the tubes at the UN with the latest abstention vote wasn’t enough to rile us, let’s tool up the gun rights folks. Of course SS folks are in the news everyday, brandishing their weapons. I was chewing on raw hide all weekend wanting to post this but did not in respect for Christmas. Here tis:

On Monday the Obama administration finalized a Social Security gun ban that could prevent “tens of thousands” of law-abiding elderly citizens from purchasing guns for self-defense.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the ban would be sweeping; that it would cover those who are unable to manage their own affairs for a multitude of reasons–from “subnormal intelligence or mental illness” to “incompetency,” an unspecified “condition,” or “disease.”

Current law prohibits individuals from buying a gun if, because of a mental health issue, they are either a danger to themselves or others or are unable to manage their own affairs. The Social Security Administration (SSA) has indicated that it will begin the rulemaking process to ensure that appropriate information in its records is reported to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). The reporting that SSA, in consultation with the Department of Justice, is expected to require will cover appropriate records of the approximately 75,000 people each year who have a documented mental health issue, receive disability benefits, and are unable to manage those benefits because of their mental impairment, or who have been found by a state or federal court to be legally incompetent. The rulemaking will also provide a mechanism for people to seek relief from the federal prohibition on possessing a firearm for reasons related to mental health.

Missouri Overrides Govs Veto to Legalize Permitless Gun Carry

Think Ferguson. A good day to celebrate as there are now eleven states that allow citizens to protect themselves, their families and property. No questions asked.

The Missouri legislature overrode Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon’s veto of permitless gun carry on Wednesday, making it the 11th state to adopt the policy.

Missouri legislators bypassed the governor’s wishes and instituted the new gun-friendly law by a vote of 112-41 in the House of Representatives and 24-6 in the Senate. Under the law, anyone over 21 who can legally own a firearm may now legally carry a firearm. The move continues a nationwide trend towards what activists call “constitutional carry.”

From the nation’s founding through 2002 Vermont was the only state that didn’t require a state-issued permit to carry a firearm. Alaska became the second state to adopt the policy in 2003. Over the last six years another nine states have followed suit, making it the hottest trend in state-level gun policy. H/T:Free Beacon

Obama to go after guns of those on Social Security disability

While Paul Ryan is having his hissy fit over Trump because “I don’t really know him” and takes a day out of the House’s overworked schedule to have his ego massaged, he does nothing to put together a bill to stop this nonsense. No you don’t have to be a threat to yourself or others, and there is no adjudication. No way of refuting the taking of your Second Amendment. Is this what we have come to?

The Social Security Administration has announced the details of a new rule that would bar many receiving federal disability payments from owning firearms.

“The Social Security Administration’s proposal doesn’t require an individual to be adjudicated mentally defective or to pose a risk to himself or others,” Lars Dalesiede, a NRA spokesman, said. “Instead they are set to strip away your constitutional rights just because you meet a set of criteria established by a group of faceless bureaucrats you’ll never meet. That puts thousands of Americans in the terrible position of choosing whether to pay their bills or give up their constitutional rights.”

The group called the president’s push for the new rule “embarrassing and shameful.”

The proposed rule is part of President Obama’s push to tighten gun laws while bypassing Congress. News of the plan to add some Social Security recipients to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, was first uncovered by the Los Angeles Times last summer and has faced fierce opposition from gun rights groups ever since. (There are additional targets.)

President Obama announced in January that he was officially ordering the Social Security Administration to start the process for implementing the rule.

Though Social Security’s rule limits the scope of those banned from owning firearms compared to the VA it would still potentially target a larger group of people. Tens or hundreds of thousands of Americans could be affected.

Bonus for you Paul Ryan. Our gal Hillary Clinton on guns. Maybe you would like to have her as President?

“I’m going to speak out, I’m going to do everything I can to rally people against this pernicious, corrupting influence of the NRA and we’re going to do whatever we can,” she said.

Clinton argued that the NRA has “so intimidated elected members of Congress and other legislative bodies that these people are passing the most absurd laws.”

“The idea that you can have an open carry permit with an AK-47 over your shoulder walking up and down the aisles of a supermarket is just despicable,” she said.

Jason Whitlock: “The NRA Is The New KKK” -Video

Of course we would expect the media to come out and make a full frontal assault on our guns now wouldn’t we, after Sunday’s sports extravaganza. It turns out Mr. Whitlock would just as well do away with football. Never mind that looking at the root of America’s violence in our cities might bring one to the uncomfortable facts of poor schools, the breakdown of the family structure as pivotal problems, but hey, you already know the drill so why should I repeat myself. This interview does give us a glimpse into the strategy for the next assault on the second amendment. Racism of course, that is the meme of the day.

Here we go: First the facts from over at Hot Air

Let’s first get the facts straight about firearms and handguns in the U.S. Estimates vary widely on the number of households with firearms, but Gallup’s survey in 2005 put it at 42 percent. With roughly 150 million households in the U.S., that means that a gun is present in roughly 63 million households. Yet the number of murders committed by firearm in 2011, according to FBI statistics, was 8,583. That represents 0.0136 percent of all firearm-owning households. Murders by handgun came to 6,220, which makes that percentage 0.0099 percent. If guns caused murders, we’d be seeing a lot more murders. More than 99 percent of Americans seem to be capable of owning guns without committing murder, which demolishes the blame-the-gun argument

On CNN contributor Roland Martin’s podcast posted to his website Monday, Jason Whitlock, the columnist who inspired Bob Costas’ commentary on gun control during halftime of Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game on NBC, revealed his peculiar take on the National Rifle Association (NRA).

“Sports gets so much attention, and people tune out the real world, that I try to take advantage of the opportunity to talk about the real world when sports lends itself to that and try to open people’s eyes,” Whitlock said.

“You know, I did not go as far as I’d like to go because my thoughts on the NRA and America’s gun culture — I believe the NRA is the new KKK. And that the arming of so many black youths, uh, and loading up our community with drugs, and then just having an open shooting gallery, is the work of people who obviously don’t have our best interests [at heart].”

Whitlock disagreed with the idea that gun ownership “enhances” liberty, explaining how — in his view — it damages society.

“I think it’s obvious if you’ve traveled abroad, and traveled to countries where they have  legitimate gun laws, that we don’t have to have what we have in America.. truer words were never spoken.

If you don’t want to hear the whole tripe against guns and football, move the video to around 2:00 for the NRA rant.

Atty. general: Illinois should release Gun Owner Information

Lisa Madigan and Barry

Lisa Madigan and Barry

One can only wonder who really is behind this action. The AP? Really? Another battle looming on the home front. This is great. The Criminals can double check before the home invasion to see if the owner packs.

State police determine who gets Firearm Owners Identification cards but have always kept the information confidential. (FOID)

Through the Freedom of Information Act, The Associated Press requested in September the names of each FOID cardholder in the state and the expiration date of each card. State police denied the request, prompting the public access counselor’s intervention.

“The General Assembly has clearly determined that it is in the public interest to provide a system for identifying those who are qualified to acquire or possess firearms through the issuance of FOID cards,” assistant public access counselor Matthew Rogina wrote. “The public, therefore, has a legitimate interest in ISP’s enforcement of the FOID card act.”

- Illinois State Police stood their ground today after the state’s attorney general determined the agency must disclose the names of people authorized to own guns in Illinois to comply with public records law.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s public access counselor issued a letter Monday night rejecting state police arguments that releasing the information is an unwarranted invasion of privacy prohibited by the state public records law or that its disclosure would automatically endanger the lives of gun owners or those who don’t have firearms.

Obama’s Pick for ATF Chief Is ‘Anti-Gun,’ Say Pro-Second Amendment Groups

We will not give up our guns

We will not give up our guns

No big surprise that Obama would move on the Second Amendment, but I had no idea the vast amount of control his Czar would have over the gun industry. Mount up Calvary, muskets ready for the next onslaught. Each siege seems to be worse than the last. All without Congress.

Both the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) criticized the president’s selection of Andrew Traver.

According to the NRA, “Traver has been deeply aligned with gun control advocates and anti-gun activities. This makes him the wrong choice to lead an enforcement agency that has almost exclusive oversight and control over the firearms industry, its retailers and consumers.”

First of all, the big concern that we have is that the agency that he would be overseeing controls all the firearm regulations against everybody in the United States starting with the manufacturers and the wholesalers and the distributors down to the gun dealers,” said Gottlieb

“They can deny dealers licenses, they can decide that a person doesn’t sell enough guns to be a dealer or sells too many guns and should be a dealer, all kinds of regulations on how the stores have to operate, what kind of security devices they have to have, all kinds of inspections,” said Gottlieb. “There are a whole lot of monkey wrenches that can be thrown into the firearm industry very quietly behind the scenes.”

Alan Gottlieb, chairman of CCRKBA, told CNSNews.com that as ATF director, Traver would exercise vast control over all levels of the firearm industry.
