Peace Through Military Power in D.C.

PEACE THROUGH POWER

by Mustang

According to Reuters News Agency and Politico sources, up to 21,000 national guard troops were authorized for service inside Washington DC to provide security for the Biden inauguration.  They continue to serve under Major General William Walker, Commanding General, District of Columbia National Guard (which is the only national guard unit that answers directly to the President of the United States through the Secretary of the Army).

According to official national guard officials, their mission is to provide a back-up force to the District of Columbia Police Department, a federal agency, with infantry, communications, air guard, logistics, and coordination responsibilities with all other supporting agencies.

According to General Daniel Hokanson, Chief, National Guard Bureau, the national guard’s “first priority is to protect people and property and the safety and well-being of our national guard personnel and their families.”

The typical mission of the national guard, supporting state governments, is (a) to support civil authorities whose capabilities are insufficient to meet current requirements, (b) protect the life and property of all US citizens, (c) protect critical US infrastructure (d) provide humanitarian assistance during disasters and domestic emergencies, and (e) support law enforcement agencies.  In Washington, D. C., the national guard has been authorized to carry loaded weapons to protect individual members of Congress and their staffs.

Apparently, the President, his cabinet, personal staff, Congress members, and their staff are living in fear for their lives.  To the amazement of any clear-thinking person, the mission seems hardly justified since no one is authorized to carry firearms inside DC except government officials.

The costs associated with this deployment of national guard personnel, funded by the US Department of Defense, suggests that instead of serving in Washington “on loan” from their various states, the federal government federalized these weekend warriors at an estimated cost of around $550.00 per day/per guardsman – or roughly $11.5 million per day.  Their “tour of duty” has been extended through the end of March 2021, equating to around $460 million.

In contrast to the difficulty earmarking money for the southern border security wall, which Trump actually intended to provide security to American citizens and communities located near the Mexican border, the decision to expend forty million dollars to protect the political elite from radicals took all of about forty seconds.

The basis of the threat, the justification for national guardsmen, to begin with, was an FBI assessment that Trump supporters posed a clear and present danger to the “orderly and peaceful” transition of power to the new administration.

According to my sources, the FBI assessment took place in the third stall of the FBI building’s executive washroom.  An entire “division” of national guard expeditionary forces seems a bit of overkill, however.  Still, nothing is too good to protect the lives and well-being of Nancy Pelosi and her sidekick, AOC (who, along with Senator Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut, was a distinguished veteran of the Vietnam War).

D.C. Plastic Straw Cop to Earn $60,000 to Enforce Straw Ban

Here is man with a story. Earned his Masters degree in Public Policy at American University. A stint in Morocco where he brushed up on his Arabic. Always a useful tool these days. This is a man on the move.

Zach Rybarcyk

The city of Washington, DC, is taking drastic measures to ensure that no restaurant in the city uses plastic straws, spending $60,000 per year to pay a “plastic straw cop” to monitor restaurants which stray from the rules.

D.C. Department of Energy and Environment inspector Zach Rybarczyk, the city’s hand-picked straw monitor, has been patrolling area restaurants to ensure their straws are paper and not plastic ever since the city’s plastic straw ban went into effect at the beginning of January, the Washington Post reported Monday.

Rybarczyk’s services do not come cheap. According to a document on salary information from D.C.’s Department of Human Resources, Rybarczyk takes home $60,472 per year as an environmental protection specialist and has been on the D.C. government’s payroll since April 2017

Since the ban went into effect, Rybarczyk wasted no time trying to track down any restaurants still using plastic straws. He told one cashier at the Lotus Express in Union Station that the store would face $800 in fines if they were caught using plastic straws again in July.

Last plastic straw Obama will use. Try paper next time with your slurpee. See how that works

D.C. is the latest jurisdiction to ban plastic straws, following the lead of Seattle and San Francisco— both of which have instituted similar bans.

Who in the world is Zac Rybarczyk and his past life to get him to this position?

Zachary Rybarczyk, a candidate for a master’s degree in public policy, has been named a 2014 Boren Fellow.

Rybarczyk will study water access and government policies in Morocco, with the aim of better understanding the challenges of providing clean drinking water and sanitation services to rural communities

The Fellowship also allows him to learn Moroccan-dialect Arabic while investigating the Kingdom’s successes and enduring challenges of providing both urban and rural Moroccans adequate clean water and sanitation services.

As a requirement of the Fellowship, Zachary will also seek out opportunities within the Federal government to apply what he has learned in a position of public service upon his return to DC this upcoming spring.

Wolf Management 101 – Guest post by Mustang

Washington is a pack of wolves.  There are several species of wolf, of course … but for simplicity sake, let’s just pretend there are only a few.  Nevertheless, despite different species, all wolves behave in the same way.  They are hunters looking to bring down and consume the weakest of their prey.

How we perceive these wolves is interesting.  For example, if one happens to be a western rancher who suffers the loss of one of his cattle, it makes perfect sense that this westerner would form a low opinion of wolves —but no matter what the rancher thinks, the truth is that the wolf is pure of heart.  He is only doing what wolves do.  A wolf pack may have killed and eaten a cow, but it did not break into the rancher’s house and steal his stereo or his wife’s jewelry.

We may apply the same analogy to describe Washington’s beltway shenanigans, where there are several species of wolves (Democrats, Republicans, Independents, journalists, lobbyists, bureaucrats).  They too are pure of blackest heart —seeking out the weakest of their prey.  I can even hear howling in the background.

This leads me to wonder, if Donald Trump has a mission to drain the swamp, and if he understands that the swamp is populated with wolves, why isn’t he arming himself?

  • Even supposing that Jeff Sessions resigns as Attorney General, does Mr. Trump imagine there will be no consequences from Sessions’ friends, allies, or even those of another political species who hates Sessions guts but sees an advantage in attacking Trump?  Is Mr. Trump so starved for attention?
  • Even supposing it is true that CNN and MSNBC behave themselves as something less than journalists, does Trump enhance his position, or detract from it, by hounding these people as news fakers?  (For the record, I can’t think of anything lower on the food chain than a journalist).  Why not starve the news fakers to death rather than giving them something to feast on every single day?
  • One must also wonder how to deal with wolves most effectively.  Is it by behaving as they do, running around baying at the moon, or by using high caliber weapons to dispatch them into wolf Valhalla?

There is something of Mr. Trump that we just don’t need: a daily dose of school-yard immaturity.  But there is also much about Trump that this country desperately needs —and why he was elected to the nation’s highest office.  We need him to address the wolves because they have become far too over-populated, because that is what Mr. Trump promised to do, and why the people elected him.  If he has a problem with Jeff Sessions, address it privately, as a gentleman, and then get on with the business of state-craft.

I understand that we can’t allow Mr. Trump to actually shoot these wolves, but he can damn-well starve them to death.  I hope he’s reading Bunkerville and thus gaining such phenomenal free advice.

What’s up with the New Madrid Fault line and FEMA and HAARP?

Time for a change of pace! We will soon find out!
I have purchased a supply of Food Stores from Mountain House “Just in case” of bad times ahead. They have been sold out for some time.  Here is a surprise which I found on their website and their statement regarding a FEMA request::

The purpose of this Request for Information is to identify sources of supply for meals in support of disaster relief efforts based on a catastrophic disaster event within the New Madrid Fault System for a survivor population of 7M to be utilized for the sustainment of life during a 10-day period of operations.

Imagine my surprise when I caught this story over at: Before it is News

There Is Evidence That HAARP Has Been Turned Up Again And Its Target Is The New Madrid Fault Line  HARP

(HAARP) is an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).[1] Its purpose is to analyze the ionosphere and investigate the potential for developing ionospheric enhancement technology for radio communications and surveillance purposes.[2] The HAARP program operates a major Arctic facility, known as the HAARP Research Station, on an Air Force owned site near Gakona, Alaska.

Here is the Home Page for HAARP Here

Before it is News A quote pulled from the FEMA website states the following:

“The NLE 11 functional exercise, which will simulate a catastrophic earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone, is scheduled to take place at venues in the national capital region and throughout the central U.S. These exercise activities are being carefully balanced with the current flooding and tornado-related disasters that FEMA and its partners are responding to, and adjustments have been made to exercise plans accordingly.”

If you are in the New Madrid fault line areas in Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, or Tennessee, be on the look out for glowing clouds, which are a signal of HAARP energy coming through the clouds and being directed into a particular location. There is now strong evidence coming from the HAARP induction magnetometer that shows several distinct beams which are being transmitted into the region on full blast. These signals were seen in the Haiti earthquake, and forty hours later there was a devastating earthquake. In Japan the induction magnetometer again showed a beam, and fifty-five hours later we saw the recent Japanese disaster. Now we are seeing these signals again, only now there are four distinct signals reading off the scale, all going off at once. Whatever it is they are doing, it should be huge.If this attempt is successful, very soon we will see a tremendous earthquake, and it’s self evident that it will be in the New Madrid fault line area.

You may be interested to know that FEMA is also conducting a large weeklong exercise in the New Madrid region that will simulate a catastrophic earthquake.

 From the Mountain House website:

In response to the recent concern of FEMA purchasing Mountain House products:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) procures and stores pre-packaged commercial meals to support readiness capability for immediate distribution to disaster survivors routinely. The purpose of this Request for Information is to identify sources of supply for meals in support of disaster relief efforts based on a catastrophic disaster event within the New Madrid Fault System for a survivor population of 7M to be utilized for the sustainment of life during a 10-day period of operations.
As you know we have removed #10 cans from our website temporarily. The reason for this is sales of #10 cans have continued to increase. OFD is allocating as much production capacity as possible to this market segment, but we must maintain capacity for our other market segments as well.

Voucher-vote-a-double-negative-for-democrats

Cynical is the understatement. Crass support for the Unions is what it’s all about.  It would be great for Olympia Snowe to explain her nay vote. I guess it’s hard for a Mainer to relate to the plight of inner-city kids whose only chance is education.

On Tuesday evening, the Senate rejected an amendment to reauthorize the Opportunity Scholarships program, which provides private school tuition vouchers to 1,300 poor D.C. children.

The nearly party-line vote was a serious mistake for Democrats—both educational and political.

Only three Democratic senators— Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Ben Nelson (D-Fla.), and Mark Warner (D-Va.)—in addition to Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) voted with Republicans to save the program. Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) co-sponsored the reauthorization amendment, but did not vote. A single Republican, Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine, voted with the majority.

Why do Democrats oppose school choice for poor families so strongly?

Senator Dorgan (D-N.D.) questioned the need for vouchers, arguing that they rob public schools of desperately needed funds, He also asserted that public schools are not failing. “Whose boot print is on the mo0n?

That is cold comfort for D.C. public school students. Few of them will ever make it beyond the Earth’s atmosphere—roughly half don’t make it out of high school in four years. The District’s on-time graduation rate has been pegged at just 48.8 percent. By the eighth grade, most D.C. students score below “Basic” in both mathematics and science on the National Assessment of Educational Progress

Muslims ‘Day of Prayer;’ organizers have extremist ties

Many outspoken Christians expressed disappointment that President Obama would endorse the Muslim “Day of Prayer,” yet ignored the Christian “National Day of Prayer” in May. This nation was founded “under God,”

The Islamic “National Day of Prayer” emerges Friday, marking the end of the Muslim month-long holiday Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims are expected to march on Capitol Hill

praying

Conflicts shroud this day, as many decry the actions and views of the organizers, including Hassen Abdellah, an attorney who represented Islamic terrorists for the 1993 and 2001 world trade center attacks. Imam Abdul Malik is another event organizer whose facebook page includes a video where he says “polygamy is an American tradition,” ( see http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2009/09/islam-on-capital-hill-.html). This is a quote from his wall: Democracy is not revelation, and democracy does not equal freedom, for in democracy you have apartheid, you have slavery, you have homosexuality, you have lesbianism, you have gambling, you have all of the voices that are against the spirit of truth; so no we don’t want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democracy (italics mine). That’s what we want.” Another video called “Anti-Zionism” is allegedly by this same man. The Washington Times reported some Islamic groups that would not take part in this day, including The Islamic Society of America (ISNA) and the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR).
