Who is Marxist Vivian Schiller, NPR President?

While tooling around this weekend, I caught the “Jewish Independent Talk Radio” on one of our conservative radio stations.  They were interviewing someone who also writes for Town Hall. Internal Memos indicated that the intention of NPR is to be a world wide radio network, They already are in place in Germany, and several other countries. An interesting factoid. Who is supporting all of this? More than George Soros and his 1.5 mil.

Here tis:NPR Org

Schiller began her career as a simultaneous Russian interpreter in the former Soviet Union, which led her to documentary production work for Turner Broadcasting.

She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree inRussian studies and Soviet studies, and a Master’s degree in Russianfrom Middlebury College.[4]

Prior to leading NPR, Schiller was a senior vice president ofNYTimes.com.[4] She was the first general manager of Discovery Times Channel (now Investigation Discovery), from 2002 – 2006.[5] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivian_Schiller

Who is this Vivian Schiller, President of NPR? I had a hunch, another Marxist parading in Sheep’s clothing? Just like our Commander in Thief. A quick look at wikipedia and the NPR website confirmed my suspcions. When she mentioned that Juan Williams had “strayed before” sounded oh so much like a Ruskie. Viv’s idea that Juan needs Pschiatric help, standard treatment for anyone who strayed. Interesting how NPR has no problem with her Soviet history.

They might not know that psychiatric ‘assistance’ was often the remedy for the many who questioned or in any way didn’t fit into the administration’s Red Star image.  Does anyone read “1984″, George Orwell’s masterpiece anymore? MN Prager

Town Hall  has this disturbing update:

Schiller, a former New York Times executive, is one of a few dozen power players working with the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission and a leftist group called Free Press to “reinvent journalism.” That’s how the FTC describes it. The FCC calls what they are doing the “Future of Journalism.” Free Press, a think tank funded by leftist billionaire George Soros, among others, calls it “the new public media.”

With now-former NPR analyst Juan Williams suitably splattered across the evening news after politically incorrect comments he made on Fox News, Schiller can return to her real passion – the creation of a national network to ensure that in the future, you get your news from the government in general and NPR in particular. Keep Apologizing Vivian, we got your number , who explained in a speech to the NPR board of directors in 2009, it is public radio’s responsibility to fill the gap in journalism left by dying local television stations and newspapers.

A Great piece here at the Spectator who give more of her Soviet involvement and Ted Turner,

Ms. Schiller is suddenly infamous as the National Public Radio executive with Soviet-style values on display in the firing of Juan Williams.

Where would an American media executive ever learn that dissent is not to be tolerated?

How about a film project called Portrait of the Soviet Union?

It was lovely. A glowing documentary of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics produced in documentary film format by a big Soviet Union fan — Ted Turner.

The 1988 film was also made into a book of the same name, with Fitzroy MacLean, a onetime British MP listed as the author. By 1988 MacLean was the “chief consultant” for Turner Broadcasting.
