Six US troops killed, just before Christmas

Z posted this, and here is a part of her post:This terrible hit before Christmas hit us all……  I am including the music “Bring him home” as a reminder of all those who are away from home in this precious time of year.

This is about the six US troops killed two days  ago in Afghanistan.  These six were killed:  Please take in their smiles, their optimism, their strength, their lives.  The life’s gone now and their families are a mess.  Their families will never have another totally happy Christmas in their LIVES…NEVER.  There will always be the pall that “Daddy died 7 years ago just before CHRISTMAS..”  Ever year.

Air Force Major Adrianna Vorderbruggen

New York City Detective Joseph Lemm, a 15-year veteran of the NYPD who also volunteered in the U.S. Air National Guard and was on his third deployment to war zones.

Serviceman Chester McBride Jr., who was remembered by the principal of Statesboro High School as “a young man of high character with a great smile.”

Serviceman Michael Anthony Cinco of Rio Grande Valley, Texas, was identified by local media as another victim.

Staff Sergeant Louis Bonacasa from New York.

But what we do actually know is that six brave American families will be celebrating Chrismas without their dad, their mom, their brother, their wives………….and they need PRAYER.

I blog this to ASK FOR PRAYER FOR THEM………for Adriannna, Joe Lemm, Mike Cinco, Chet McBride, Peter Taub and Bonacasam

Keep these service people and their spouses in your prayers…………but, mostly pray for their children, missing their dad every Christmas from now on.

God bless you………….Z

Colm Wilkinson – Bring Him Home (Les Misérables)

God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there

He is young
He’s afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home. He’s like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.

Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy

You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

November 2010 Was Deadliest November for U.S. Forces In 9-Year Afghan War

At least 45 U.S. troops were killed in Afghanistan last month–more than two-and-a-half times the 17 U.S. casualties in Afghanistan in November 2009–making November 2010 the deadliest November since the war began more than nine years ago, according to CNSNews.com’s database of U.S. casualties in Afghanistan.

So far this year, 452 U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan. That is more than was killed in any previous year of the war, and approximately 35 percent of all U.S. casualties since the war started. There have now been 1,304 total U.S. casualties in Afghanistan since October 2001.

Hamas bans women dancers – and scooters too

It is stunning how the women’s groups remain silent on the steady march of the Islamic movement to put women back into the stone age. Where is the outrage? Have we forgotton the Afghan women in their Burkas? The video of the Isalmic women receving public beatings? A woman shot in a soccer field?

Besides keeping women from being tempted with hellfire and damnation, the progressives in Hamas have also banned…folk dancing! Apparently, Palestinian folk dances are quite suggestive – if you’re an Islamist nutcase, that is.

The government’s Islamic Endowment Ministry has deployed Virtue Committee members to preach at public places to warn of the dangers of immodest dress, card playing and dating.

The opening of the Palestinian Heritage Museum on Oct.7 was meant to include a rendition of the dabke, a line dance performed by girls and boys. Except that no girls were allowed.

Black-shirted men from Hamas carrying AK-47s appeared at the gates of the museum, on Gaza’s waterfront, said Jamal Salem, the curator. They said girls shouldn’t dance because it wasn’t religiously proper. Nor could they share the stage for the inaugural speeches, said Salem.

And just how is Israel suppose to deal with this?

It will be interesting to see if Obama mentions once, the odious oppresion of the Afghan women. From our earlier posting:

Have we forgotten the oppression of the women? Have we no caring that we would turn back the clock and allow the Taliban once more to abuse them in the most hideous manner? Condemn them to Sharia Law? To appeal to  Karzi’s conservaties during the recent election, Karzai re-instituted many of the earlier sub-human treatments of women, including forcing women to remain in their homes.

Obama’s 200 days of Political Hell

obama200

The first 200 days of Barack Obama’s presidency…?” And the short list of political atrocities begins.

Who would have believed that within the first seven months of the new administration, 90% of all mortgages in the United States would be backed by the federal government (placing the taxpayer at risk for over $5 trillion dollars, I might add).  The U.S. government, would also become a major shareholder in one of the world’s largest banks, Citigroup-who would have believed it?   The feds hostile takeover of General Motors and Chrysler, the sacking of their respective CEO’s, replacing them with political appointees, and then heartlessly closing hundreds of profitable dealerships across the country, many of whose owners were known to have contributed to Republican politicians and conservative causes.

If America had known this would happen upon electing Barack Obama as president, would the country have listened?

“If I told you that if elected, the budget deficit for Barack Obama’s first fiscal year would total $1.6 trillion dollars, and in ten years the predicted national debt would surge to $16 trillion, would you have believed me?  And we conservatives thought George Bush had a spending problem,” I declared.

“If I would have told you that the Obama White House would drop the lukewarm phrase ‘War on Terror’ and replace it an even wimpier one: ‘Overseas Contingency Operation,’ would you have believed me?  And if I told you we’d soon be reciting Miranda rights to terrorists captured on the battlefield-AK-47 toting thugs attempting to kill Americans soldiers in Afghanistan-would you have listened?”

Oh, and I noted his first egregious action that nobody would have anticipated: on the night of his inauguration our new Commander in Chief became the only President to blow off the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball, sponsored by the American Legion.  Close to 50 Medal of Honor recipients and esteemed guests were assembled.  Mr. Obama traded the presence of our nation’s greatest patriots for fools like Kanye West and Leonardo DiCaprio. Would anyone have believed me if I had said this would occur?

“if I had told you our nation would have an Attorney General who does not believe the Second Amendment is an individual right; or that a Supreme Court justice who feels race makes for judicial wisdom, would be sworn-in; or that the Tenth Amendment would be obliterated by the new administration in an attempt to pass ‘health insurance reform’?  Would you have believed me?”

If we told you, some said, that the Lockerbie murderer, Abdul Al  Megrahi, a man convicted of killing 270 passengers aboard Pan Am flight 103 in 1989-180 of those Americans-would be freed from prison, and the response from America’s president would simply be, “we thought it was a mistake,” would you have believed us?

If we told you, they shared, that we would actually have president who declared the United States is “no longer a Christian nation”; or a president who would not publicly participate in the National Day of Prayer; or a president who would travel to Egypt to give a major address directed to the Muslim world, would you think we were crazy?

President Obama’s first formal televised interview was taped and broadcast on Al-Arabiya (think of it as Al Jazeera-lite), and his first phone call to a world leader was to a former pillar of the Palestinian Liberation [terrorist] Organization, Mahmoud Abbas.  Who would have believed it?

After 9-11, the British government presented George W. Bush with one their country’s great modern treasures: a bust of Winston Churchill.  President Bush prominently placed the iconic figure of vigilance and courage in the Oval Office.  After Obama’s inauguration the Brit’s offered the prized possession to remain with America’s new commander.  Obama turned down the offer and had Churchill crated and shipped back to England.  If you were warned this would occur, would you have believed it?  Or would you have believed that, upon British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s first visit to the White House, our president would present the leader of our greatest ally with a tacky gift box of DVDs, including Psycho and The Godfather?

The list includes 10% unemployment, a $787 billion stimulus package, calling the work of a municipal police force stupid, plans to hijack the student loan industry, and appointing a hater of conservative radio to the FCC.

If we had told you, would you have believed such things were possible in the United States of America?  Well, to a large degree, many of us did, and now many more believe.
