Obamacare website sharing personal data

Welcome to State run marketing. Most of us are not surprised. This regime has no shame. The only question is who is getting paid for this little action. We can be sure this is only the beginning.

The government’s health insurance website is quietly sending consumers’ personal data to private companies that specialize in advertising and analyzing Internet data for performance and marketing, The Associated Press has learned.

The scope of what is disclosed or how it might be used was not immediately clear, but it can include age, income, ZIP code, whether a person smokes, and if a person is pregnant. It can include a computer’s Internet address, which can identify a person’s name or address when combined with other information collected by sophisticated online marketing or advertising firms.

The Obama administration says HealthCare.gov’s connections to data firms were intended to help improve the consumer experience.

Daoudi’s company, Catchpoint Systems, came across some 50 third-party connections embedded on HealthCare.gov. They work in the background, unseen to most consumers.

The AP replicated the results. In one 10-minute visit to HealthCare.gov recently, dozens of websites were accessed behind the scenes. They included Google’s data-analytics service, Twitter, Facebook and a host of online advertising providers.

Congresswoman Lummis heartbreaker story with Obamacare

All right. I watched the whole Gruber hearing farce today. This sums up the whole thing.

Rep. Cynthia Lummis finishes her questioning time at the health care hearing by talking about her husband, who died from a heart attack, and the problems they had with health care.

Here he is in all his arrogance.

Gruber: ‘States against Medicaid expansion “Awesome” in their “Evilness”

What this clip shows is that Gruber really is a deluded man. He apparently believes that we should be stupid as opposed to being stupid. Those who have followed the ACA bill know that after the Feds chip in to expand State Medicaid – 90 percent the first year as I recall, it diminishes each year until the States have huge numbers of enrollees that they would be responsible for and would bankrupt each State. Meanwhile, the Medicaid reimbursement rates are so low that Hospitals and Doctors would face bankruptcy as well. A perfect storm, designed to achieve a total Federal takeover of Healthcare.

A new video featuring Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber, uncovered by White House Dossier today, shows Gruber concurring that some states refusing to expand Medicaid as part of Obamacare do so out of racist motives and asserting that the refusal is “almost awesome in its evilness” and an effort to “punish poor people.

POLLACK: One of the things that’s really striking to me is, there’s is a politics of impunity towards poor people, particularly non-white poor people that – it’s almost a feature rather than a bug in the internal politics in some of these states, not to cover people under Medicaid even if it’s financially very advantageous to do so.

I think there’s a really important principle to defeat this politically, not just because Medicaid is important for people, but because it’s such a toxic political perspective. It has to be shown that that approach to politics doesn’t work, because otherwise we will really be stuck with some very unjust policies that will be pursued with complete impunity in some of these places.

GRUBER: You know, that’s a great way to put it: There’s larger principles at stake here, when these states are not just turning down covering the poor people, but turning down the federal stimulus that would come with that.

They’re not just not interested in covering poor people, they’re willing to sacrifice billions of dollars in injections into their economy in order to punish poor people. I mean, it really is just almost awesome in its evilness. And I agree, you have to recognize there’s larger principles at stake here.

Final nail in the Obamacare coffin coming? Supremes to hear

Talk about the ultimate feel good moment for the week? Taking down Obamacare would be a super “twofer.” Knocking Obama’s socks off on Tuesday’s election, and then taking down his “signature” achievement. I am no legal wizard but this little sentence seems to make it clear to me:

The legal dispute centers on a four-word statutory phrase. The law says people qualify for tax credits when they buy insurance on an online marketplace “established by the state.”

Now if Roberts can swallow his pride and accept what a nonsensical vote he made that gave us this monstrosity, and the NSA doesn’t have a whole lot on him, we might just do it. Decision should could out in June. Here we go:

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed to consider a challenge to the subsidies that are a linchpin of President Barack Obama’s health-care overhaul, accepting a case that suddenly puts the law under a new legal cloud.

Two years after upholding much of the law by a single vote, the justices today said they will hear a Republican-backed appeal targeting tax credits that have helped more than 4 million people afford insurance.

A ruling blocking those credits might unravel the law, making other provisions ineffective and potentially destabilizing insurance markets in much of the country. The high court’s decision to hear the case comes days before the start of the law’s second open-enrollment season Nov. 15. A decision will come by June.

The justices will consider an appeal filed by four Virginia residents seeking to block the subsidies in 36 states. The appeal says the Obama administration is engaging in a “gross distortion” of the law’s wording by granting billions of dollars in tax credits to people in those states.

Medicare Drug Coverage saved in part by Whitewater’s Webb Hubbell

Anyone recall Webb Hubbell of Hillary Clinton’s early years at the Rose law firm? Many believed he played an important part in the Whitewater cover up. Interesting that yesterday I happened to post how HHS Nominee Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Dumpster-Dived Dead Vince Foster’s Trash.  Vince Foster, another player in the Whitewater cover up who came to an “untimely death.”

Looks like now we have Mr. Hubbell to thank in part for saving  Medicare’s s Part D Drug coverage of certain drugs. We knew that Medicare was going to be plundered for Obamacare. This was the first step. And at the hearing of Sylvia Burrell it was claimed:

The questioning was surprisingly soft. While some lawmakers quizzed her on the Independent Payment Advisory Board, a federal agency created by the law to lower Medicare costs that some conservatives feared would be “death panels,” Burwell simply responded that it was her estimate that the board would never actually be activated. (This was the most absurd).

Please tell me what the heck taking away coverage of anti-rejection drugs leads to? Death. Period. Medicare already has cut home healthcare services. We know where that leads as well. A good story over at WND and good coverage of Hubbell’s early years.

WASHINGTON – One day after former Clinton administration official Webb Hubbell sounded off against a proposed Medicare rule change in a WND commentary, the Obama administration dropped plans to restrict access to antidepressant and antipsychotic medications, anti-rejection  and other classes of drugs as well.

“So my antennae naturally went up when an article appeared in the New York Times with the headline ‘Plan to Limit Some Drugs in Medicare Is Criticized.’ After reading the article and doing my research I came to the conclusion that HHS ‘has now gone to meddling.’”

Hubbell’s research shows the administration’s plan has to do with cost and reducing drug overuse. DHHS cites a 2008 actuarial study stating that the six protected classes accounted for 17 to 33 percent of drug spending.

“Apparently money trumps well-informed, accepted and successful medical care even if it undermines ‘a key protection for some of the sickest, most vulnerable Medicare beneficiaries,’” he writes.

In a stunning reversal, the Department of Health and Human Services killed the proposal a day after the official comment period ended and a day before the House of Representatives was set to vote on a bill to block the change.

What concerned Hubbell, who served 21 months in prison in the 1990s after pleading guilty to federal charges of overbilling clients at the Rose Law Firm where he was partnered with Hillary Clinton and Vince Foster, was the DHHS plan to allow insurance companies to limit Medicare coverage for certain classes of drugs, including anti-rejection medications for transplant patients and medications to treat depression and schizophrenia in the elderly.

Hubbell said he was concerned personally about the idea because he is covered by Medicare, is a transplant survivor and takes anti-rejection medication every day.

After Hubbell resigned as the third ranking official in the U.S. Justice Department and before his indictment, he received legal consulting contracts for $450,000 from various clients including $100,000 from the Chinese-connected Indonesian Riady family and $62,755 from Revlon at the recommendation of Clinton confidant and political fixer Vernon Jordan. This became the focus of an investigation by Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr. Starr found Hubbell “did little or no work for the money paid by his consulting clients,” but determined there was insufficient evidence to conclude that the money was intended to influence Hubbell’s cooperation with investigators in the Whitewater investigation.

Sebelius to unleash Bounty Hunters on Hospitals and Doctors with new edict

In what starts out as a headline Sebelius Releases Privacy-Protected Data that could be interpreted as an effort to get rid of fraud and abuse there is much more of a nefarious intent.  Stick with me for the ride as we go down the rabbit hole and understand that this is the final attack on demonizing and destroying physicians and hospitals.

“The data released today afford researchers, policymakers and the public a new window into health care spending and physician practice patterns”

In a move the administration is promoting as providing consumers “unprecedented transparency on the medical services physicians provide and how much they are paid,” Health and Human Services has released new physician-specific data which had formerly been protected under privacy laws, detailing services, procedures, and billing of individual healthcare providers.

Is there fraud and abuse in Medicare reimbursements? You bet there is. But, as posted back January 6, 2011 –  Obamacare hires Bounty Hunters to come after Doctors, the intent is to unleash private mercenaries on the healthcare industry,

It has created a new interagency task force called HEAT (Health Care Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Action Team) under which health-care officials will collaborate with the FBI to go after Medicare fraud. In addition, it has expanded to several cities the Medicaid Fraud Strike Force that authorizes FBI and Drug Enforcement Agency agents to jointly analyze Medicare claims data in real time to detect and investigate irregularities by area doctors.

More chillingly, however, the administration is defining Medicare fraud down to include “unnecessary” and “ineffective” care. And to root this out, it plans to make expanded use of private mercenaries—officially called Recovery Audit Contracts—who will be authorized to go to doctors’ offices and rummage through patients’ records, matching them with billing claims to uncover illicit charges. What’s more, Obamacare increases the fine for billing errors from $11,000 per item to $50,000 without the government even having to prove intent to defraud. Full story here at Reason/a>

And how are they going to find this fraud and abuse?  The way is to make it almost impossible to figure out how to “code” or bill using the appropriate number.

Medical Service Codes Go From 18,000 to 140,000 September 16, 2011. Check out the post for the absurdity. A more in-depth look at coding can be found at fellow blogger’s post  Prolonging The Agony Or Averting Disaster? by McNorman’s Webblog.

“What’s more, Obamacare increases the fine for billing errors from $11,000 per item to $50,000 without the government even having to prove intent to defraud”

If you wonder why so many physicians have threatened to quit their practice, here is the number one reason. Bounty Hunters. Looking for a missing “bullet point” in the documentation or an inaccurate digit in the billing code.  Best part, no legal redress of any dispute. Guilty as charged. Here tis:

Medicare’s billing codes are a complicated, convoluted mess and deciphering them can sometimes be more art than science. Both Republicans and Democrats huff and puff against “waste, fraud and abuse” in Medicare. And they have already enacted Stasi-style laws such as the False Claims Act offering nurses, patients and other whistleblowers 15 percent to 30 percent of any money recovered if they report improper billing practices by providers.

The true meaning of a ‘bump in the road’ with Obamacare

Most of us some time in our career got the call to come to a meeting to be held by management that we know will not be good news. That feeling of dread that comes over us. None can be much worse than hearing that one’s healthcare coverage is going down the tubes. In a moving video, Lady Raven’s Whiskey Jar has a clip that will/should move even the heartless progressives who believe the problems with Obamacare are only “bumps in the road.” Here tis, coming to your company soon.

Pennsylvania small business Simonetta’s Collision Repair Center allowed a local news station to record their employees live reactions to learning about how ObamaCare has altered their health insurance.
The results are heart-breaking.
The employees soon learn that their premiums have skyrocketed by an average of 32%, a massive jump from last year’s relatively modest 6% increase. That’s not all. They also faced massive increases in their deductibles, ranging from 60% for some to as much as 100% for others.
Simonetta’s, a car repair business in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, is represented by Democrat Rep. Mike Doyle (PA-14).
“The deductible is terrible,” said one worker. “It’s going to be a pretty big hit in the pocket.”
“How are you going to do that?” one of them was asked. “I don’t know,” she responded. “I don’t know how President Obama thinks that he is helping us.”
“They call it the affordable health plan? There’s nothing affordable about it,” another said. “Wake up America. This isn’t acceptable.”

Talk about elections having consequences; imagine this scene is taking place throughout the United States in the private business sector.  Families forced to choose between meals, rent, house payments, etc. or health insurance premiums, co-payments and deductibles for substandard medical care.

The spin begins: ‘You may not be better off after knee surgery’

Why this post today? Because this is the beginning of the propaganda machine starting to tell us to “just take the pain pill.” Based on 146 patients, the “death panel” or rationing board will use this to deny this surgery. Orthopedics is high on the list of reimbursement cuts planned by Obama.

(CNN) — Patients who underwent simulated knee surgery fared just as well as those who got the real deal, according to a new study that’s raising eyebrows about the most common orthopedic procedure performed in the United States.

Recall?

Jane asks the President if her 100 year old mother (now 105) would have gotten a pacemaker under his plan. Well now that’s a tough one … that costs a lot and maybe we will have to say, just take a pill. Priceless.

The findings, published Thursday in the New England Journal of Medicine, add to a string of papers suggesting that arthroscopic partial meniscectomy fails to help many patients. The operation typically is performed to relieve knee pain, whether from wear or from an injury.

But other doctors say it’s still too soon to draw sweeping conclusions.

The study, which was conducted in Finland, followed 146 patients between the ages of 35 and 65 with symptoms of degenerative wear and tear of the meniscus, a disk-shaped piece of cartilage that acts as a shock absorber between the shinbone and thighbone. They had no detectable arthritis, suggesting that any pain was due to a problem with the meniscus.

Billions in Home Healthcare cut from Medicare

I wish I could tell you this was the only major cut to Medicare. But no. The reimbursements to Doctors and Hospitals were cut significantly. The news was out there, but no one cared. We knew that Medicare was being raided for the purpose of Obamacare. But there was no outrage. No response from our Congress. Now the regime will make the cuts – thousands – inch by inch, and destroy this program. Few Doctors will take on new Medicare patients. That is the long and the short of it. Home Healthcare was one of the most important “wellness” programs. It kept seniors from winding up in Nursing homes. By the way, those reimbursements have been slashed as well.

Via AMAC:

As if ObamaCare’s botched website, coverage cancellations, and higher costs were not bad enough, the Obama Administration has quietly dealt yet another blow – this time striking millions of the nation’s most vulnerable seniors.  Specifically, the Obama Administration has decided to deeply cut funding for the Medicare program’s home health benefit as a way to help pay for ObamaCare.

The Administration made this announcement very quietly, waiting to do so until the very end of the last Friday before Thanksgiving, perhaps thinking that most people would not be looking.

To be sure, the timing of the Administration’s quiet announcement did keep it out of sight – for a while.  That ended on December 12th, however, when the Washington Examiner broke the story in an article headlined “ObamaCare forcing 14 percent cut in Medicare’s home health program.”  FOX News and the Daily Caller have also picked up this story, so full attention is now being paid to this unprecedented cut – and the harm it will do to frail seniors across America.

As the Examiner’s Richard Pollock wrote, “An estimated 3.5 million poor and ill homebound senior citizens will wake up on New Year’s Day to discover ObamaCare has slashed funding for their home health care program.”  He’s right: on January 1st, the Obama Administration will sharply cut Medicare funding for home healthcare services.

Totaling a whopping 14 percent between 2014 and 2017, this cut is the maximum allowable under the ObamaCare law.  The Administration had the discretion to cut less, or even to make no cuts at all.  But they decided to impose the deepest cut made possible by the Affordable Care Act (shouldn’t we be calling this the “Horrible Care Act”?) legislation.  And in doing so, they will shift billions of dollars from Medicare to ObamaCare.

Did Jan Schakowsky husband write the Obamacare Bill?

Lew Rockwell gives us this tidbit. It is suggested that non other than Jan Schakowsky husband had a heavy hand in writing this monstrosity.. We sure know someone did. While Glenn Beck tends to exceed himself at times, more times than not he is on to a good find. So read it, and draw your own conclusion. Big Government broke the story way back when.

On a personal note, I decided to leave the frigid Northern climes for the sunny south. Sorry to miss all of you that stopped by,and look forward to paying my fellow comrades in blogger arms a visit very soon.

This isn’t the first time we have heard this drill:

Earlier post

Democrats Health strategy written in Prison December 8, 2009 — bunkerville

Rep. Schakowsky’s husband, Robert Creamer, used to be the leader of Citizen Action/Illinois. He also founded its predecessor, Illinois Public Action, in which Ms. Schakowsky served as Program Director. He runs a political consulting firm, the Strategic Consulting Group, which lists ACORN and the SEIU among its clients and which made $541,000 working for disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.(Read the post for his ideology. Sounds about what we have now.)

Here we go with Lew:

And now for the shocking truth about who actually wrote Obamacare. After all the secrecy surrounding Obamacare is lifting, we can finally put a name to this cruel lie. The man’s name who wrote a great deal of the scourge that we call Obamacare, is convicted felon, Robert Creamer.

Creamer is now credited for writing 628 pages of Obamacare while he was in prison. Creamer is a senior Democratic operative who defrauded banks in order to keep his Marxist/Communist community organization afloat by engaging in 16 counts of bank and tax fraud. Creamer’s book is entitled, Stand Up Straight: How Progressives Can Win.

Many left-wingers say that Creamer’s book has inspired them in their progressive fight to turn America into socialist Europe. Creamer’s work has received support and garnered an endorsement from a surprising source. Or, maybe it is not so surprising after all. Former White House Senior Adviser, David Axelrod, described Creamer’s book as a “blueprint” for future progressive victories. Creamer has stated that in order to impose socialist healthcare on an unwilling nation, it is necessary to deceive the people.

Creamer is the husband of Marxist Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, an Illinois Democrat who demands a “single payer” healthcare delivery system. Creamer’s book calls for the “democratization of wealth”, and the “progressive control of governments around the world”.

Creamer says that Democrats could win a permanent majority in Congress “by passing a national health care bill, turning more people into wards of government, that works to grow government; and by giving amnesty to all illegals, thereby creating, virtually overnight, a large new constituency of Democratic voters”With 50% of the country on some form of welfare, Creamer’s plan has progressed at a very rapid pace.

Creamer counseled Democrats that to win complete control of America, they must “not just generate understanding, but emotion—fear, revulsion, anger, disgust”. He adds, “If the Democrats continue to stand firmly for immigrant rights, the issue will define immigrants’ voting loyalties for a generation. If we’re successful, we’ll have a gigantic block of progressive votes over the next 15 years, a block that could be decisive in the battle for the future.” Read the rest at Lew Rockwell
