PA 21,000 Mail Ballots to be ‘Hand Marked’ Due to Printing Error

UPDATE: Lancaster County just shut down the vote counting today at 6:PM… Whose minding the store?

Shocking….. the local news WGAL in South Central Pennsylvania is asking for volunteers – you, me and whoever, no skill required, to hand mark fresh ballots that could not be read by machine due to a “printing error.” Included were the location with the hours of where we were to go. Call me simple minded. Is this the practice run for 2022 fall election?

The Republican primary for Pennsylvania’s open U.S. Senate seat has not been called, with Mehmet Oz and hedge fund CEO David McCormick locked in a close race.

PA has to solve the problem, of the 21,000 vote by mail ballots being unreadable due to manufacture/print error. Or are those just not going to count as they’re now being hand counted?

As I write this there is only about a 2000 vote difference in the Senate race with Dr. Memet Oz and David McCormick.

The Lancaster County Board of Elections says a printing error on some mail-in ballots prevented them from being scanned.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Printing mistakes will force local election officials in Pennsylvania to redo thousands of mailed ballots, a laborious process that could delay results for some closely contested races in Tuesday’s primaries.

In Pennsylvania, where GOP primaries for governor and U.S. Senate are drawing national attention, officials in Republican-leaning Lancaster County said the company that printed its mailed ballots included the wrong ID code, preventing scanning machines from being able to read them. The problem involved at least 21,000 mailed ballots, only a third of which were scanning properly.

The glitch will force election workers to hand-mark fresh ballots, a process expected to take several days. Officials in the county, the state’s sixth most populous, pledged that all the ballots will be counted eventually. But by whom? How about the local candidates where a few votes can make all the difference.

ADDENDUM:  It just occurred to me they are not planning on working through the night.. at least not the volunteers requested. I have forgotten what exact time the volunteer hours would end. But not through the night,
