Sunday Respite – ‘When Winter Comes’

For this Sunday’s Respite I have chosen When Winter Comes by Chris De Burgh. I have included the poem Spellbound by Emily Bronte to set the mood.

The days are shorter, the winter is soon to settle in for the long haul. The video is one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it as well.

You may prefer to watch the video in full screen.

Emily Brontë

The night is darkening round me,

The wild winds coldly blow;

But a tyrant spell has bound me

And I cannot, cannot go.

The giant trees are bending

Their bare boughs weighed with snow.

And the storm is fast descending,

And yet I cannot go.

Clouds beyond clouds above me,

Wastes beyond wastes below;

But nothing drear can move me;

I will not, cannot go.

Wishing you a wonderful day.
