Biden’s HHS Trans Doctor pick supports sex change for kids and puberty blockers

Remember when the Twilight zone was just a show on TV? Rand Paul nails down this candidate for Biden’s latest pick for weirdos to fill out his cabinet. This one is a doozy. Later the  background on this guy/gal who thinks it’s apparently great for kids to mutilate their bodies without parents knowledge.

Rand Paul puts Rachel’s feet to the fire with his well laid out question.

Biden nominee refuses to answer the question about whether the government should override a parent’s consent to allow a minor to receive puberty blockers or surgical amputation of breasts or genitalia.

“You’re willing to let a minor take things to prevent their puberty, and you think they get back?… You have permanently changed them… There’s no long term studies. We don’t know what happens to them.”

Charlie Kirk:

Joe Biden is pushing Rachel Levine through the Senate to be second-in-command at the Department of Health & Human Services. Rachel is a biological male who supports sex change surgeries & life altering hormone treatments for children. Is this what ‘healing the nation’ looks like?

That was not the only question of her that should be a headliner:

Levine questioned on missing Pa. nursing home data in …

Penn Live

HARRISBURG — During a federal confirmation hearing Thursday, former Health Secretary Rachel Levine was questioned about the ongoing data discrepancies in Pennsylvania’s public reports on nursing home coronavirus deaths and cases.

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R., Maine) said Levine had assured her that Pennsylvania had accurately reported deaths in these homes, unlike New York, where the attorney general found that the Cuomo administration had undercounted fatalities by the thousands.

But Collins questioned that claim, citing Spotlight PA reporting from September 2020 that found weekly reports released by the state health department were consistently missing death and case data for more than 100 of the state’s 693 nursing homes.
……

By September, more than six months since the first COVID-19 case in Pennsylvania, problems with the data had not been corrected. With many facilities still closed to visitors, advocates for nursing home residents and families said that there were few ways for families to know what was going on inside facilities and to monitor outbreaks.

Data related to a deadly outbreak at one Lehigh County facility was not included in the reports until August — after 80 residents had died, one of the highest death tolls in a nursing home in the state.
Those of us who live in Pennsylvania know all about Dr.Rachel Levine. Unfortunately we don’t have a weather girl” like Janice Dean.

The news comes as Levine, the nation’s first openly transgender health secretary, comes under fire over the department’s handling of nursing homes — particularly a March guidance that essentially instructed senior living facilities to accept patients who were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The guidance stated:

Nursing care facilities must continue to accept new admissions and receive readmissions for current residents who have been discharged from the hospital who are stable to alleviate the increasing burden in the acute care settings. This may include stable patients who have had the COVID-19 virus.

Nearly 70 percent of the state’s coronavirus-related deaths — 2,896 of 4,218 — are connected to nursing home facilities.

It was revealed this week that Levine removed his 95-year-old mother from such a facility during the pandemic.

Pennsylvania AG opens criminal probes into nursing homes …

Nursing home deaths account for more than two-thirds of the state’s death toll. … into several nursing homes amid a coronavirus outbreak that has killed 2,600.

Protesters call for Pennsylvania health secretary to step down

The rally Monday was organized by state Sen. Doug Mastriano, who says Dr. Rachel Levine hasn’t properly protected the state’s vulnerable older population.

Let’s meet the mastermind behind this:

Two dozen plus House Democrats ask Biden to give up sole authority to launch nuclear weapons

It’s hard to get a bead on where this is coming from. Its only been a month or so… is Biden so bad off that they really are concerned? Was this the plan right along, move Pops out and 25 him so Harris can move right in? In practicality, how would this work? As China fires their nukes the Commander-in Chief is to call around and figure out if we are going to respond? It’s hard to believe this issue would have been raised without Pelosi’s approval. Maybe Biden has been a bit too cantankerous. Maybe just turn the decision over to Facebook and the Twitter guys.

“We respectfully request that you, as president, review ways in which you can end the sole authority you have to launch a nuclear attack, and to install additional checks and balances into the system,” the letter states.

“As president, you will have the final say on any changes to U.S. nuclear policy. We respectfully request that you, as president, review ways in which you can end the sole authority you have to launch a nuclear attack, and to install additional checks and balances into the system,” the letter states.

The letter notes that there have been multiple possible systems proposed and lists several of them. One proposal involves “Requiring additional officials in the line of presidential succession, starting with the vice president and the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives — neither of whom can be removed by the president if they disagree — to concur with a launch order, and utilizing the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s tracking of those officials to ensure prompt communication.”

Is Chess racist because white goes first?

This is bad news for people who are into chess.

Croatian chess player Antonio Radic (aka Agadmator) had his popular chess videos blocked by Google’s YouTube due to unspecified “harmful and dangerous” content.

Computer scientists at Carnegie Mellon suspect Radic’s discussion of ‘black vs. white’ with a grandmaster accidentally triggered YouTube’s AI filters.

Running simulations with software trained to detect hate speech, they found more than 80 percent of chess videos flagged for hate speech lacked any—but did include terms like ‘black,’ ‘white,’ ‘attack’ and ‘threat.’

Chess Is Racist Because White Moves First

The notion that somehow the ancient pastime of chess is inherently racist due to the rule of white pieces moving first has been broached on an Australian taxpayer-funded national radio network.

The controversy arose when the national broadcaster ABC proposed a radio slot on the matter Tuesday and sought an interview with John Adams, an economist who represented the Australian Chess Federation in 2015.

“The ABC have taken the view that chess is RACIST given that white always go first,” he said.

Adams further explained the ABC was looking for a chess offical to comment on whether the rules should be altered.

“Trust the taxpayer funded national broadcaster to apply ideological Marxist frameworks to anything & everything in Australia,” he added.

Just when you think the world cannot go off the rails any further there is always a surprise isn’t there? Censors will be everywhere. Next our phone calls? E-Mails?

Schumer smug about Texas? New York has to import Nat Gas from Russia

Schumer preens about, so full of himself that Texas is in a bad place due to the severe cold that caused the energy crisis this past week. Be careful Chuck. You and your pal Cuomo have put New York in the same boat for a potential disaster. New York and other New England States dependent on Russia for energy.

An excellent example of just what has been allowed to happen that puts Americans at risk by a few nitwits.

Even the Boston Globe opined that “Massachusetts’ reliance on imported gas from one of the world’s most threatened places is also a severe indictment of the state’s inward-looking environmental and climate policies.”

Previous posts on the situation in New York, the latest from the eco-terrorists:

For eight years, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has capitulated to the eco-left. From preventing the construction of needed pipelines to banning fracking, he has implemented an extreme environmentalist agenda.

Now, the consequences of those decisions are hitting New York residents hard.

Earlier, it was reported how New York is facing shortages of natural gas, even though it has plentiful shale reserves and shares a border with Pennsylvania, a state that also has shale reserves. As the Wall Street Journal noted, “The reason for the shortage is obvious: The Cuomo administration has repeatedly blocked or delayed new pipeline projects. As a Con Ed spokesman put it, there is a ‘lot of natural gas around the country, but getting it to New York has been the strain.’”

It seems New York has a partial solution – import liquefied natural gas from Russia.

That’s right, instead of permitting pipelines and fracking to get access to domestic natural gas, New York is importing energy from across the world – and from a geopolitical rival to boot.

Chuck DeVore, Vice President of the Texas Public Policy Foundation explains, “And, while Gov. Cuomo continues to obstruct new pipelines, generating political goodwill from some, his state’s policies, combined with a 99-year-old law that bans foreign vessels from shipping cargo between U.S. ports, result in the importation of liquified natural gas (LNG) from Russia and Trinidad and Tobago—rather than Pennsylvania or Texas.”

Moratorium on New Yorkers getting more hookups to energy.

The New York Post says lawmakers are confused by Cuomo’s claim they get to decide on the Williams pipeline. In an editorial, the Wall Street Journal says Cuomo blocking the pipeline and then blaming National Grid for the moratorium is “another parable of how the political campaign to ban fossil fuels is detached from energy and economic reality.”

Yes… this is how it works New Yorkers:

“To add additional service would pose a risk to the integrity of our system and compromise natural gas use for our existing 1.8 million customers in New York City and on Long Island,” said Karen Young, the National Grid spokesperson. The result is that, while existing customers are unaffected, those attempting to get a new hookup are denied new service.

“…Mr. Cuomo has ordered the utility National Grid to resume natural-gas hookups that were suspended after his senseless pipeline veto this spring.”

Guess how this will end. Let’s connect these dots. One doesn’t need to be a Mensa candidate.

Money, Corruption, & Politicians

Money, Corruption, & Politicians

America has the best politicians money can buy

by Mustang

Here’s an interesting question: who would spend $25 million (mostly in donated funds) to keep a job that pays $194,000.00 annually?  Well, the $194-thousand salary is what Nancy Pelosi gets paid (annually) to serve as Speaker of the House.  $25 million is how much she averages in campaign donations every two years.  Actually, she raised $27 million, spent $21 million, retaining about $6 million in her war chest.

Well, of course, there are a few follow-on questions.  If Nancy Pelosi has a net worth of $120,000,000.00 — if she makes only $194,000.00 a year, then where is she getting her money?  I am asking because at her salary as Speaker of the House, she’d have to work for 618.5 years in order to accumulate $120 million.  Oh wait … maybe she’s a very wise investor, or lucky … or something else.

The Pelosi investment portfolio includes Facebook, Apple, Comcast, Shutterfly, and Walt Disney.  And a ton of real estate properties in downtown San Francisco, of course.  Plus, it might be interesting for some to know that, according to Steve Kroft ( 60 Minutes report in 2011) it was perfectly legal for members of congress to engage in insider investments — while normal folks (you and I) would have gone to jail for insider trading.  File this under the Politically Elite Exemption Provision of the U. S. Constitution (which I cannot seem to find a copy of).

After Kroft’s airing of his report in 2011, Congress passed the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act.  Only three members of the Senate opposed the act: Jeff Bingaman, Richard Burr, and Tom Coburn.  House Members who, at the time, were vulnerable to losing their seats in Congress overwhelmingly supported the bill (417-2).  So the question remains, how do members of congress — especially the veterans — who arrive in Congress next to poor, end up as millionaires?  In 2014, Nancy Pelosi was worth $74.2 million.  Seven years later, she’s increased her wealth to $120 million.

Obviously, some members of Congress were wealthy before arriving in Washington; it didn’t make them any poorer staying there for a few terms.  Pelosi’s wealth likely comes from her real estate holdings, which are substantial.  John McCain married into his wealth.  In 2010, 150 lawmakers claimed that most of their wealth came from investments — and we don’t exactly know how to define that.

Could it mean, for example, backing a bill that generates kickbacks?  For instance, did Nancy Pelosi support any bills that materially benefitted Facebook, Apple, Comcast, or Walt Disney Enterprises?  Does she lease any of her properties to the federal government?

When the median household income in the United States is $65,000.00 (as of 2018), and Congressional salaries are $174,000.00 (for the regular member), can we really make the argument that members of Congress are looking out after John Q. Citizen?  Joe Biden is now earning $400,000.00 annually for serving as president.  On his first day at the office, he put between 70,000 and 100,000 Americans out of work.  Two things become apparent:

      1. Despite all the campaign rhetoric about looking after the American people, no member of congress or the White House really gives a damn about us.  All this nonsense about increasing the minimum wage does no more than shift the cost of increased wages onto the backs of consumers.  The Democrat’s demands for taxing the rich only increases the consumer’s cost of goods and services.  Biden can cause people to lose their jobs with a snap of his fingers, and for the rest of us, lower our disposable income by increasing the cost of gas and oil.  Democratic voter … thy name is Idiot.
      2. Members of Congress are not going to give up any of THEIR money to the poor.  I’m thinking Nancy Pelosi doesn’t eat McDonald hamburgers, but if you’re worth $120 million, who cares about the cost of a hamburger and fries?

Unrelated: Donald Trump donated his $400,000 annual salary to charity, will Biden?  Never mind — I was just being silly.

The attitude among these political elites is basically this — don’t blame them because you weren’t smart enough to get elected to Congress.  The problem for America is, I think, that we have many levels of elitism going on simultaneously.

Presidents, Governors, & Mayors; Congress members, state legislators & city councilmen; federal judges, state judges, & municipal judges — every one of them imagining that they’re better people than those who elected them.  Well, they may be better off that we are, financially, but they are hardly better people that most of us.

There are no sour grapes here — honestly.  I just think that before you elect someone to public office, someone who is willing to spend tens of millions of other people’s money to get a salary of $174,000 — maybe they don’t deserve your vote.  If it smells bad on election day, the odor won’t improve with time.

Scotlands oldest museum creates ‘Curator of Discomfort’ -“decolonize” Scottish society.

What the Vikings and Romans could not do to Great Britain’s culture, now will be done by their own hand. There will be no accurate memory of the past. Only deprecation of what was. A self loathing. Welcome to 1984.

Scotland’s oldest Museum embarks to “decolonize” Scottish society. The position? “Curator of Discomfort.” I thought the Scots had more sense than this. But it is not just this museum. No, the purge is moving through Britain. No doubt it has or soon will arrive in the United States.

It would be more efficient to burn down museums than to appoint vandals as curators. But progressives don’t just want to destroy Western Civilization; they want to defile it first. Culturally speaking, they are not merely murderers. They are murderers who rape, torture, and mutilate their victims. So  comments  Moonbattery

I could not say it any better.

Scotland’s oldest public museum has created the position of ‘Curator of Discomfort’ to take the museum out of its “institutional comfort zone” and confront historical and modern-day “white supremacy”.

On Monday, the University of Glasgow’s Hunterian Museum, which was founded in 1807, announced the creation of the post on social media, tapping left-wing activist Zandra Yeaman to head up the woke project.

In a blog post explaining the Curator of Discomfort position, Ms Yeaman said that it would focus on “looking at ways outside of traditional museum authority to explore the interpretation of contested collections and to design and deliver a series of museum interventions that takes the museum out of the institutional comfort zone”.

Yeaman added that she will embark on “exploring white supremacy as an economic and cultural system in which white western ideals control the power of the text, the material resources and ideas of cultural superiority”.

The newly installed curator went on to say that her goals will extend beyond merely attacking Scottish heritage — which she claimed honours people with “racist ideology” — but will also seek to dismantle “the structural (and institutional) racism that is perpetuated today and transforming comfortable narratives to include the uncomfortable unvarnished truth”.

She concluded by saying that in her efforts, she will seek to partner with “anti-racist activists, communities, academics, heritage institutions and heritage professionals” to “decolonise” Scottish society.

Last year, Edinburgh University removed the name of 18th century Scottish Enlightenment philosopher David Hume from one of its buildings over his now politically incorrect opinions on race.

The woke purge has extended throughout British academiaheritage bodies, and museums alike. In August, for example, the British Museum removed the bust of its founder, Sir Hans Sloane, from its pedestal amid BLM-inspired outrage over his ties to the slave trade.

The Natural History Museum followed suit, launching a review into supposedly “offensive” and “problematic” collections, including exotic birds collected by English naturalist Charles Darwin.
