Sunday Respite – Autumn Equinox (Mabon) ‘She is dying’

The Autumnal Equinox. We celebrate Mother Earth giving up her bounty to us as she prepares to go into her slumber. This year the Autumn Equinox in Northern Hemisphere will be at 9:30 AM on Tuesday September 22 Eastern Time.

The Autumn Equinox divides the day and night equally, and we take a moment to pay our respects to the impending dark. We also give thanks to the waning sunlight, as we store our harvest of this year’s crops. Hail and Farewell.

We welcome the coming darkness. Hail and Welcome. The earth goes dark,
the earth slowly dies only to be reborn.

Though temperatures may still be warm during the day, summer has truly come to an end. The leaves on deciduous trees have or soon will begin to turn colors and fall to the ground, and there is a chill in the evening air.

The wheel keeps turning. Birth Death and Rebirth.  The song is by Clannad, sung in Gaelic, in the Donegal dialect.

You may prefer to watch this in full screen.

For your consideration.

Wishing you a wonderful day and much Peace.
