Trump Loyalists no where to be found – Mattis, Esper attack Trump

What is with a General who thinks they are above the President? Mattis resigned/fired over Trump’s Syrian policy. Then we had the Secretary of Defense now complaining how he had to “tag along” with Trump and walk through Lafayette Square with Trump carrying a bible. Are there no loyalists?  Not satisfied he goes on:

‘I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act’: Defense Secretary Esper breaks with Trump on use of troops

Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Wednesday he opposes using the U.S. military to quiet domestic unrest in a break with President Donald …

“I say this not only as secretary of defense, but also as a former soldier, and a former member of the National Guard: The option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort and only in the most urgent and dire of situations. We are not in one of those situations now,” Esper said. “I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act.”

Two administration officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Trump was angry over Esper’s comments and felt like the defense secretary left the impression it was his decision on whether to invoke the Insurrection Act.

Former Defense Secretary Mattis breaks silence and tears into Trump: ‘He tries to divide us’

Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis ripped into his former boss President Donald Trump in a scathing Wednesday night statement.
Now Mattis in the Atlantic:

Excerpt:

I have watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled. The words “Equal Justice Under Law” are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand—one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values—our values as people and our values as a nation.

When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens—much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander-in-chief, with military leadership standing alongside…

…Instructions given by the military departments to our troops before the Normandy invasion reminded soldiers that “The Nazi slogan for destroying us…was ‘Divide and Conquer.’ Our American answer is ‘In Union there is Strength.’” We must summon that unity to surmount this crisis—confident that we are better than our politics.

Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children…

…We know that we are better than the abuse of executive authority that we witnessed in Lafayette Square. We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution. At the same time, we must remember Lincoln’s “better angels,” and listen to them, as we work to unite…

They are all turning against him now, even one Republican Senator has come out in support of Mattis’ comments. There will be more in my opinion. I believe this is the beginning of the end of any chance Trump has of being reelected, the forces are lining up against him and they are willing to burn the country down to stop him and I just don’t see how he can survive.

Have never been a believer in Mattis. Why did he not finish his quote of “I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution .” against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Pompous asshole if ask me. He fired a good friend of mine from regimental commander during his rush to be the first to Baghdad.

I fear commenting on Mustang’s beloved Corps and Mad Dog… except to say I would fear him greatly if I was trying to avoid being killed… One thing is a fact: he was fired by both Obama, the Kenyan moslem, and our great President who has now been at war longer than that Democratic POS FDR.

It seems their ego gets ahead of their judgement. He is perfectly right to have his opinion but to wage a war of words against a sitting President seems a bit much. Considering two Presidents have given him a try it might be worthy for him to take a few minutes in self-reflection. I suspect that the top brass in the military get use to everyone saying Yes Sir… and it may be difficult to accept direction.

There’s something REALLY odd going on altogether. Why hasn’t Trump yet made a prime time speech in the wake of unrest across the whole country? He knows something we don’t know and I believe he’s hatching something, getting information…I believe he knows who’s causing this (as do all of us have a pretty good idea) and is gathering evidence that (finally) CANNOT BE REFUTED before he speaks…..Please, God.

WHY did Esper have to say that? What was the point? AND “tag along”? That is SO insulting to Trump’s whole walk over there (whose purpose, by the way, totally escaped me, other than it gave a Black Bishop and VERY liberal denomination’s FEMALE bishop chances to insult a Conservative President) that I’d have given him a HUGE warning were I Trump like “one more of THOSE and you’re OUT”.
Did you know some reporter asked “mr. Trump, is that YOUR Bible?” And he responded “It’s A Bible”….ugh.
Also, when are people IN the WH going to stop this type of leaking “Two administration officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Trump was angry over Esper’s comments”? They’d be fired, too, if I knew who they were.
none of anybody’s business how Trump reacts in the privacy of his offices. And his WH has leaked like a sieve since Day One. (Actually, come to think of it, it’s been a TAD better the last six months or so?)

I agree…. he is getting ready for something.. and whoever leaked that he went to the basement one night should be fired now. His friends are few and far between. Nothing in the news about the hearing yesterday which by the way I managed to sit through it. Not because I thought it would serve any purpose but that we are still locked down here what else is there to do? The press should be told unless they can be civil and ask decent questions the pressers will stop.

Esper says, “I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act,” and follows with, “Oh, no, no, no, the military should only be used as a last resort.”

Pay attention, numb nuts. President Trump did not invoking the Insurrection Act and he said that, “if the governor of a state cannot or will not stop the riots then I will.” If the governor cannot… What is that if not a last resort? Moron.

In reference to the cops knee to the neck

        Arrested

        Then don’t break the law…

If the cop put pressure on Floyd’s neck with his knee there would be evidence of injury

Geeez, have you ever watched Cops on TV? If you watch it, you will see why cops show force when investigating or arresting. They need to protect themselves from drug-crazed loonies…yet the media crucifies one cop enforcing the law.

As to this incident, he must have tried to resist but who knows. I don’t think they will show all footage. But it’s Floyd’s fault he was on the ground. I had been pulled over three times in a span of about 1-1/2 years in my blazing orange supercharged Mustang – which reeked of illegal equipment. Yet, each time, I rolled down my windows, put my left hand on the rear view mirror and right hand on top of the wheel. Not that I feared I would get arrested but to make him feel at ease. We would strike up a brief exchange then they would let me go – except once when he gave me a “fix-it” ticket: remove tint, put on front plates and get street legal mufflers (didn’t have mufflers). They were all illegal in Commiefornia. They didn’t ask to pop the hood, thank God.

Moral of story: this BS rioting/looting/killing could have been avoided if he just complied.

Mustang k…. The trick is not to pass a worthless piece of currency.. That is where is starts… as you say, many are drug crazed. They get extremely strong… On the other hand, the part of the clip that disturbs me is the clip I saw was someone in a different color uniform.. tan… checked his pulse twice at different points and the force was not relieved. By that time it was clear he was unconcious.

We have just been put on notice here in Bergenfield, NJ, a quiet “Diverse” shut-down suburb, a half hour transit from de Blasio’s third world bazaar, that there will be a protest this Saturday from 12:00 PM to 3:30 starting at the high school and proceeding to St John’s church (not the semi-burned out DC St John’s). If they’re serving Toasted weenies and marshmallows I just might join in. I’ll truck on down to the dollar store before they run out of hate Trump signs.

This has taken on a life of its own. and along with COVID19 will continue right up to Election Day. If need be white mercenaries- doesn’t have to be cops-can be hired to murder a few unarmed coked up Africans to keep the ball rolling. And surely the schools will remain closed so the kiddies will be available to riot- oops protest. I’ve read this morning that the FBI can find no evidence that antifa is involved but that it is white hate groups that are the proponents of the rioting.

These traitorous SOB’s refuse to recognize that the the first POTUS was not only elected not fir the content of his character but rather for the color of his skin was awarded the Nobel Peace prize two months after being sworn in and then proceeded to overtly polarized this country in every conceivable way, race, gender, creed, sexual orientation political party and wealth/income. He is the owner of the nations race and class war raging from the mountains to the prairies to the oceans white with foam along with the every-yes every city and suburb. For the past two decades we envisioned the Muslim hoards scaling the walls of the elite’s gated communities- communities, now these a word I’ve come to despise-and putting the anti-american scum to the scimitar but now it may well be the elite backed university educated rabble who will burn them out of their businesses and ivory towers.

I believe Esper will be gone sooner than later. I think I have said this before, Mattis was my husbands boss. The Marine Corp. has always been the Presidents men since 1775, its a disgrace what Mattis has become and according to my husband, “A pansy. You never speak against the Commander in Chief.” My husband also said the Marine Corp has become a bunch of p (word with a y ending) with all these gayness and trans being alllowed thanks to Mattis NOT following orders. My husband is disgusted by all these traders.
