Saturday’s Passel of Potpourri

Let’s see what mischief our fellow earthlings have gotten themselves into this week. It’s Saturday and time for a break and maybe a smile or two.

Animals and driving problems and general mayhem. Karl and Karen are back at it with their usual missteps.

A few may need a couple of clicks. Page down for politics and/or check out the top posts listed on the right side of the page.

Be sure and check for sound.

Who are these Democrats that rule and allow cities to be destroyed?

What in the world have the democrats done to our cities and our government? These immature characters that are clueless? Abandoning a police station?

And who are these people doing all of this destruction? We have governors who are a disgrace. Mayors who are a disgrace. Letting a city burn and know it is those who live there who will not have the Target and Auto Zone and a hundred or more buildings. Where is the outrage. Don’t know what more to add.

Yes..time to arrest the cop too.

Claps back? He abandoned a police station and has over 170 buildings damaged or on fire. Jason, adults do use claps back.

Following intense protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death during an arrest with police, Mayor Jacob Frey says the non-black community must understand “400 years of anger and sadness” that is the “truth” of the black community.

Doing everything he says.

All is well in the swamp.

Cuomo granted immunity to nursing homes after big campaign donations

More dirty dealings in New York by Cuomo. Don’t count on the media covering this little factoid. Truth be told, this is the beginning of the end of nursing homes in America.

We wonder why so many of these facilities are so poorly staffed and the care provided minimal at best? Simply the reimbursement rate for these patients doesn’t cover the cost of care. After the fee for service cleans out the patients bank account the nursing homes are stuck with what the state will give them via medicaid. Needless to say in most states it hasn’t increased as the cost of service continues to rise.

Enter one Andrew Cuomo as the scrutiny begins:

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who signed legislation granting hospital and nursing home executives immunity from lawsuits related to the novel coronavirus last month, previously received a big-money boost from a powerful health care industry group, according to a new report.

The Guardian reports that the New York State Democratic Committee, then backing Cuomo’s primary run in 2018, received more than $1 million from the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) — a lobbying group for hospital systems, some of which own nursing homes.

The donation made the group one of the state party’s largest contributors in that cycle. Three of the hospital association’s top officials separately gave more than $150,000 to Cuomo’s campaign between 2015 and 2018, the outlet reported.

That donation is now drawing scrutiny after Cuomo signed legislation last month that protects executives from lawsuits — just as he is under continued criticism for his March 25 order (since deleted) requiring nursing homes to take in COVID-19 patients.

On May 10, and amid increasing criticism, Cuomo issued a new directive stating that hospitals cannot send patients back to nursing homes in the state unless they tested negative for the virus.

So the push for legislation to change the liability for the homes begin. Once changed say goodbye to care for the elderly. Nursing homes will take the fall.

This is rich.

Cuomo deflects blame for nursing home coronavirus crisis on Trump

Look for new attacks on nursing homes. It is the way the swamp works.

Bonus: Even more disturbing and a story that has received zero coverage:

Biden Hires ‘National Director’ for ‘Voter Protection’

Punxsutawney Biden emerged from his basement after 70 days and it was clear he had not been working out on a Peloton bike. Looking even more feeble which made it apparent that he too would need an insurance policy if he were to win the Fall election. He would need a “get out the vote” big time and on steroids. Especially the Black vote after his mishap last week with them.

Enter the fixer he has chosen Rachana Desai Martin.

DETROIT (AP) — Joe Biden has hired a national director for voter protection, a role his campaign says will focus broadly on voter rights, including the disenfranchisement of people of color amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The campaign said Rachana Desai Martin will join its legal team, serving also as senior counsel. Martin, who has a strong background in voter protection work, previously worked as chief operating officer of the Democratic National Committee and as the DNC’s director of civic engagement and voter protection.

The pandemic has disproportionately affected people of color, especially black Americans who represent an outsize number of infections and deaths. An Associated Press analysis last month found more than one-third of those who have died are African American.

Several states are looking at remote-voting possibilities. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said last week that all registered Michigan voters were sent absentee ballot applications. The move drew the ire of President Donald Trump, who threatened to hold up federal funding.

Voter protection will play a central role in Biden’s overall election strategy, the campaign said, noting that several states over the past few years have passed laws relating to voter ID and purges of voter rolls that could make it harder for people to vote. The campaign said it also expects significant disinformation campaigns targeted at potential voters.

The prelude to this move became apparent after several disastrous interviews on Friday and his effort to step up and out of the basement on Monday.

CNBC didn’t go so well. Joe Biden is going to beat Joe Biden.

And when in doubt go back after the energy folks and tell them they can learn to code. That should help the “get out the vote” in Pennsylvania and Ohio big time.

Yes, the Lone Ranger Rides Again. Just who is that masked man??

Other than this all is well in the swamp. The dead will rise and vote again.

The best news nuggets from the weekend you may have missed

A few of the low points of the weekend. This is your source for all the bizarre news you may have missed.

I am starting to feel like I got lost in a Monty Python movie and didn’t realize it.

Is this for real? Well this takes care of the religion post for the week.

A nice thread on Kerik that tries to help Sessions out. Jeff, it really was a big deal you recusing yourself.

If your concerned that the departure of our acting DNI Richard Grenell is a loss, here is a reminder of what our new DNI has in store… no tears for the loss though Grenell should get the Medal of Freedom.

Let’s end with a laugh and giggle.

Joe Biden suffered an awkward moment on Friday when his earpiece came out of place during an interview and he did not realize it.

During an appearance on CNBC, the device could be seen sticking out of his left ear:

He turned his head, speaking to someone off camera, and the earpiece pulled farther away.

“I’m having trouble hearing you. I do apologize.”

The host said they would “try to get the volume turned up.”

Anyone else out there recall Howdy Doody? What the heck…..

Other than that, all is well in the swamp

Memorial day

This video captures the terrible price so many have paid and are paying so we can be free.

These are American Cemeteries around the world and the number of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. I suggest watching this in full screen to appreciate the enormity of it all. Staggering.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable day.  “Hymn to the Fallen” by John Williams is the background music,

Peace.

Sunday Respite – Anthem

For today’s Respite I have chosen Leonard Cohen – Anthem done in London 2008.

We miss you Leonard. (21 Sep 1934 – 7 Nov 2016)

Wishing everyone a wonderful day as we prepare for Memorial day.

The World’s Tallest Bridges  – I suggest watching it in full screen.

The World tallest Bridges since 2017, this video of the world’s highest bridges ranks bridges by deck height. The deck height of a bridge is the maximum vertical drop distance from the bridge deck (the road, rail or other transport bed of a bridge) down to the ground or water surface beneath the bridge span. Deck height should not be confused with structural height. the Sidu River Bridge is in Hubei Province, not HuNan,Hereby amend the above.

Lawless Planned Parenthood continues its wicked ways

Ripping off the SBA of late is just the tip of the iceberg. Let’s take a walk back and look at a just few of the illegal moves Planned Parenthood has made over the last years. Some old posts of mine. The latest:

Did Planned Parenthood knowingly defraud the Small Business Administration by having 37 affiliates acquire $80 million in loans from the Paycheck Protection ProgramA letter from 27 Senate Republicans to the Department of Justice lay out a case against the abortion chain, arguing that not only did the PPP disqualify Planned Parenthood from the program, the company complained publicly about the exclusion. That makes a prima facie case for criminal fraud, they argue, in a letter first published by National Review’s Alexandra de Sanctis:

According to this letter, a copy of which was provided exclusively to National Review, more than two dozen GOP senators want Barr to investigate and prosecute “those who would fraudulently steal millions of dollars in taxpayer funds during this pandemic.”

Lawless Planned Parenthood failed to report expenditures to Clinton and Feingold

So we give a 500 million dollars to Planned Parenthood and the “political arm” contributes to the golden arm of the Democratic party and one Hillary Clinton and this case tries to unseat Sen. Ron Johnson. This from 2016 Planned Parenthood gets over $500 million annually in public funds …

Of course the latest spending bill did nothing to slow Planned Parenthood down. Just how and why do they need a “political arm?” And why are they allowed to remain above the law?

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) says the political arm of Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin has been fined for failing to report nearly $120,000 in expenditures to support Hillary Clinton in her failed presidential bid and Russ Feingold’s failed attempt to unseat Sen. Ron Johnson (R).

The FEC report states, “Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin Political Fund failed to file two 48-Hour Reports to support independent expenditures totaling $116,898.08 disclosed on the 2016 October Quarterly Report.”

In a letter to Barnes, the FEC notes a negotiated penalty of $5,850 is due April 6 from the Planned Parenthood group. H/T: Breitbart

Remember this? Clinton pays Planned Parenthood campaign funds to ‘get out the vote’

Planned Parenthood paid millions in Medicaid fraud settlements

Alliance Defending Freedom’s recent analysis of state and federal audits of family planning programs suggests that in 12 states, Planned Parenthood affiliates overbilled Medicaid for more than $8 million. One federal audit of New York’s Medicaid family planning program reported that certain providers, “especially Planned Parenthoods,” had engaged in improper practices resulting in overpayment.

There’s a whopping four-paragraph story headlined:

“Planned Parenthood finalizes $4.3 million lawsuit settlement.” That was an update of the earlier story they ran — the seven-sentence AP story that said the settlement was $1.3 million.

Hemingway summarized it perfectly:

Isn’t it just fascinating, though, that a private breast cancer charity (Susan B. Komen foundation) choosing to not give money to a massively federally funded group (that provides 300,000 abortions a year but zero mammograms) is top of the news for weeks — complete with breathless advocacy from reporters and anchors — but Medicaid fraud in the millions of dollars barely registers even the tiniest of blips in the news cycle? What’s the journalistic defense, if any?

Planned Parenthood lies, does not provide Mammograms

Just a few weeks ago, on national television, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards said this about Rep. Mike Pence’s amendment to defund Planned Parenthood:

“If this bill ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are gonna lose their health care access–not to abortion services–to basic family planning, you know, mammograms.”

Yet this is blatantly false.

We got a tip from former Planned Parenthood director, Abby Johnson, that Planned Parenthood does not provide any mammogram services. Just to be sure, our investigative team called up 30 Planned Parenthood clinics in many major metropolitan areas. Every single one of the clinics told our actor that no, they do not provide mammograms. “We don’t provide those services whatsoever,” one staffer in Arizona said.

Finally this gruesome story about Planned Parenthood:

DOJ indicts 15 in ‘Chop Chop’ for eagles, fails to charge against sale of baby parts

DOJ indicts 15 in ‘Chop Shop’ for eagles, fails to charge against sale of baby parts

In this grisly story, we learn that the DOJ apparently is more concerned about the sale of illegal bird body parts than parts of aborted babies even thought they are ten times more valuable:

The Trump Department of Justice (DOJ) has yet to respond to letters from the chairs of congressional committees that made criminal referrals regarding allegations that Planned Parenthood and its partners in the biomedical procurement industry profited from the sale of the body parts of aborted babies.

In a stunning contrast, however, the DOJ has indicted 15 individuals for illegally trafficking the body parts of eagles and other migratory birds.

In April, following a two-year undercover operation known as Project Dakota Flyer, the U.S. Attorney’s office in South Dakota announced the indictments of 15 individuals for illegally trafficking eagle body parts.

The indictments in the eagle body parts trafficking cases are based on “the sale and purchase of wildlife with a market value in excess of $350,” while the CMP videos and the congressional committees showed StemExpress to be selling the body parts of aborted babies from Planned Parenthood for prices in excess of $500.

In one exhibit, the House Select Panel’s investigation highlighted the fees paid for the baby body parts by the procurement businesses to the abortion clinics, and then the fees charged by the procurement businesses to their customers for those same parts.

“The records subpoenaed by Congress show Planned Parenthood making ten times more money off of baby body parts than the amounts that got the eagle traffickers indicted, and companies like StemExpress sell aborted baby body parts from Planned Parenthood at prices far higher than the eagle body parts traffickers are charged with,” Daleiden explains to Breitbart News.

In the illegal eagle trafficking cases, U.S. Attorney Seiler accused the defendants of a lack of reverence for the eagles – a national symbol.

‘‘There was no cultural sensitivity,” he said. “There was no spirituality.’

Other than this all is well in the swamp.
