Former CIA Director McLaughlin on Trump Impeachment: ‘These are people responding to a higher calling’

‘These are people … are responding to a higher call’  Yes, higher and beyond the constitution. Beyond the votes of the American voters. Worse is the clip of pompous Brennan. He thinks he is out of reach of justice. If so, we have lost our country. We no longer have a Republic but we have had suspicions of that already. We shall see.

From yesterday’s George Mason University forum on election security at the National Press Club:

No more beating around the bush. The Deep State has won this round.

The so called “Whistleblower”

A protégé of former CIA Director John Brennan has been identified by Paul Sperry of RealClearInvestigations as the so-called “whistleblower” whose claims were the proximate cause of the Schiff–Pelosi impeachment proceeding against Trump. Eric Ciaramella, the son of a bank executive and a 2008 Yale graduate, was evidently handpicked by Brennan in 2015 for the National Security Council as an expert on Ukraine policy.

At the White House, Ciaramella worked closely with Susan Rice, Obama’s national security adviser, and also with Obama’s Vice President Joe Biden. Perhaps the most troubling revelation in Sperry’s article was that Ciaramella also worked closely with Alexandra Chalupa, a Democratic National Committee operative who, in 2016, left her DNC job to pursue her own “investigation” of the Trump campaign (See “Former DNC Official Partnered With Convicted Bomb Maker To Investigate Trump,” Daily Caller, March 21, 2017).

For weeks, Schiff and other Democrats have insisted that the identity of the “whistleblower” is a closely guarded secret, but sources told Sperry that Ciaramella’s identity was in fact widely known

Transcript of the first clip:

BRENNAN: “But there is something unique you have to agree, that now the impeachment inquiry is underway, sparked by complaint from someone within the intelligence community. It feeds the President’s concern and often used term about a ‘deep state’ being there to take him out.”

MCLAUGHLIN: “Thank God for the deep state.

(Laughter) (Applause)

I mean, I think everyone here has seen this progression of diplomats and intelligence officers and White House people trooping up to Capitol Hill right now and saying these are people who are doing their duty or responding to a higher call. It doesn’t — I guess it doesn’t — well, think about it for a minute, with all of the people who knew what was going on here, it took an intelligence operative — officer to step forward and say something about it. Which was the trigger that then unleashed everything else. Why does that happen? I’ll tell American people why that happens, this is the institution in the U.S. government that, with all of its flaws and it makes mistakes, is institutionally committed to objectivity and to telling the truth. It is one of the few institutions in Washington that is not in a chain of command that makes or implements policy. Its whole job is to speak the truth. It’s engraved in marble in the lobby.”

Other than that, all is well in the swamp.

For the best in conservative news push the button.

Ugh…I see most of the comment here have already been said, no sense in rehashing it. And down the rabbit hole we go…never ending with these people (the deep state).

My good friend Mustang typed in the following:

[W]hen we get to the point of “thanking God for the deep state,” we have already progressed too far down the road to our own destruction. People who think this should never have our trust for the care of the Republic. Never.

Yes, we are there. Surreal that Americans are sleeping. I believe that too many are — and many others are, deliberately or otherwise, blinded by one of the most terrible deceptions possible: that this Congress has the People’s best interest at heart.

As for the videos, that second one makes me what to do some “bad” things — a powerless move if ever there was one. The Deep State is a huge hydra!

God help our republic — what’s left of it, that is.

As was said… they gave us a Republic… if we could keep it…. The first clip is what is getting attention, but Brennan is far more chilling. After all, how many of his spawn are embedded into the WH?

Gosh, folks, have none of you actually read the Constitution or looked up the laws against emoluments and why they are so important?

The Founding Fathers were so worried about a future Trump that emoluments rated a special section in the Constitution itself. In addition, we have laws against it specifically. I will refer you to the Heritage Society for the Constitution, and to the laws themselves as well.!/articles/1/essays/68/emoluments-clause

Unannotated Title 52. Voting and Elections § 30121. Contributions and donations by foreign nationals
    (a) Prohibition It shall be unlawful for– (1)  a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make– (A)  a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election; (B)  a contribution or donation to a committee of a political party; or (C)  an expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication (within the meaning of section 30104(f)(3) of this title); or (2)  a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation described in subparagraph (A) or (B) of paragraph (1) from a foreign national.

We (ostensibly) are a nation of laws —laws that presume to bind us together as a society (E Pluribus Unum). They are supposed to apply to us equally, and in matters of criminal or civil law, we are presumed innocent until proven and judged otherwise. I have observed over many years (going back almost sixty years, in fact) that all these presumptions are a part of an elaborate fairy tale. Whenever someone breaks the law, and must be charged, it should be a process begun with a heavy heart: one of us, called to account, regretfully. Instead, we charge people gleefully, hoping beyond all hope that they get what’s coming to them and if they receive punishment, that we can be present to hear the verdict so that we can “high-five” one another.

Those who joyously engage in this impeachment process are very sick people, and the level of this psychotic behavior should worry the hell out of us for the future of the American Republic. It isn’t a matter of remaining loyal to a president, nor even those who overwhelmingly elected him. It is, rather, remaining steadfast with the Constitution of the United States —our most fundamental law, and if there is adequate justification for impeachment, it should be undertaken with a heavy heart. I have to say that if this is no longer true (and maybe never has been true), then we probably do not deserve our republic to begin with. Is there a proof here that we can hang our hat on? I think that when we get to the point of “thanking God for the deep state,” we have already progressed too far down the road to our own destruction. People who think this should never have our trust for the care of the Republic. Never.

The irony of this whole thing is the Clintons. I wonder now if there had not been an impeachment of Bill Clinton if this would have come to pass….. the memory of the Nixon impeachment was no longer fresh in any one’s memory…… in fact, I doubt that this would have even come to mind to consider it. Once more their evilness bears fruit once again.
