Joe Biden’s new super PAC head is run by a foreign agent

Joe Biden : “I will not take Super PAC money or support ” ………. “unless I’m behind in the polls.” At least it sounds like how it went down. This might be bad enough but it is the “who” of it that’s to head the Pac is what grabs the headline. Good old Joe’s connection? James and Hunter Biden’s buddy who happens to be a lobbyist. The good news? We are moving on to Azerbaijan. Here it is believe it or not:

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has a brand new Super PAC in his corner, and it’s being run by a registered foreign agent for the government of Azerbaijan. Larry Rasky, a lobbyist who previously worked as a top campaign operative for Biden, is listed as the treasurer of the PAC, according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

“A former Joe Biden aide has filed paperwork to form a super PAC, called Unite the Country, that is set to boost the former vice president with millions of dollars in spending in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary,” Politico reported on Tuesday.

Rasky’s firm also represented a Bangladeshi political party last year, reaching out to reporters at The New York Times, The Washington Post, POLITICO and other outlets on the party’s behalf, according to a disclosure filing. The firm worked for the party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, as a subcontractor to Blue Star Strategies, a Washington lobbying shop run by two veterans of the Clinton administration.

Blue Star has another connection to the Bidens: The firm advised the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings while Hunter Biden served on its board, according to The Times.

Politico reported in August that Rasky also explored going into business with Hunter Biden and James Biden, the former vice president’s younger brother. At one point, Rasky planned to provide a million dollars towards the Bidens’ purchase of Paradigm Global Advisors, a hedge fund.

“James and Hunter brought in Larry Rasky, a lobbyist and longtime Biden adviser, who at one point, according to court records, was going to provide $1 million in financing,” Politico reported. “Rasky did not respond to a request for comment.”

Why Liz Cheyney ripped GOP for attacking impeachment witness Vindman patriotism

Liz Cheney never met a war she didn’t like. And why not. She is your classic Neo-Con. She warns us not to question Vindman who testified yesterday? Post Updated.

Shouting match erupts in Vindman deposition as Democrats …

https://www.cnn.com › politics › vindman-testimony-whistleblower-identity
Democrats and Republicans got into a shouting match behind closed doors on Tuesday while interviewing a witness in the impeachment investigation, with Democrats accusing Republicans of trying to out the anonymous whistleblower who sparked the impeachment inquiry,

No doubt one of her buddies along with Jack Keene who is on Fox regularly. The connection?

Really? How do these foreigners rise to such high places? Just asking.

We all have an affinity to our homeland where we came from,” former Republican Rep. Sean Duffy told CNN, adding, “He has an affinity, I think, for the Ukraine. He speaks Ukrainian. He came from the country and he wants to make sure they’re safe and free.” When asked by CNN host John Berman if he thought Vindman was looking out for America first, Duffy refused to say yes.

UPDATE II

The Institute for the Study of War.

Just what is the  Institute for the Study of War? Unfortunately,  much of their original information disappeared from their website. Thanking various military contractors for hosting dinners, and of course Liz Cheney’s name and picture are no longer prominently displayed. (Information is from an old post done back in 2013.)

We are on the front lines of military thinking.

Our Mission

“The Institute for the Study of War advances an informed understanding of military affairs through reliable research, trusted analysis, and innovative education. We are committed to improving the nation’s ability to execute military operations and respond to emerging threats in order to achieve U.S. strategic objectives. ISW is a non-partisan, non-profit, public policy research organization.”

ISW figures have been vocal proponents of escalating U.S. involvement in Syria’s civil war. In a 2018 article, ISW’s Lead Analyst, Jennifer Cafarella wrote, “U.S. behavior in Syria signals that we do not have the will to defend our interests or commit the resources necessary to achieve our stated goals. The American homeland, American allies and American partners are less safe as a result.”[6]

According to 2011 tax documents, directors included: Elizabeth Cheney, daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney and founder of the right-wing advocacy group Keep America SafeWilliam Kristol, editor of the neoconservative flagship magazine the Weekly StandardJack Keane, a retired four-star general who coauthored with Frederick Kagan of the American Enterprise Institute “Choosing Victory,” a 2007 study that served as a blueprint for the so-called “surge” in Iraq; Dennis Showalter, a military historian; Hal Hirsch; Bill Roberti; and Kim Kagan.

According to its 2011 Form 990, ISW had operating expenses of just under $1.9 million that year, up from $1.57 in 2010.

A non-exhaustive Right Web investigation of Form 990 U.S. tax records revealed nearly $700,000 in donations from charitable foundations during 2007-2009.

ISW has increasingly drawn support from military contractors with stakes in the issues that the institute studies.

“According to ISW’s last annual report,” noted Consortium News in December 2012, “its original supporters were mostly right-wing foundations, such as the Smith-Richardson Foundation and the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, but it now is backed by national security contractors, including major ones like Raytheon, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman and CACI, as well as lesser-known firms such as DynCorp International, which provides training for Afghan police, and Palantir, a technology company founded with the backing of the CIA’s venture-capital arm, In-Q-Tel. Palantir supplies software to U.S. military intelligence in Afghanistan.”[18]

Donations included nearly $180,000 from the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a premier neoconservative advocacy group, as well as $60,000 from the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, a right-wing foundation that has funded other militarist outfits like the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) and Daniel Pipes’ Middle East Forum, earning it a spot among the top funders of the anti-Islamic discourse in the United States according to a 2011 report by the Center for American Progress. The Marcus Foundation, which has also supported MEMRI, contributed another $250,000 to ISW during this period. (For a full list of Right Web’s findings, click here.)

ISW’S Corporate Council:

ISW’s Corporate Council members believe that an advanced understanding of military issues results in significantly better national security policy. They recognize the relevance, accuracy, and impact of ISW’s research and analysis, and provide support to ISW and its leadership.

Liz Cheney, Elizabeth O’Bagy, Military contractors- a toxic brew

(The post is well worth looking at…. guess who shows up? Good old Moustafa of impeachment fame.)

But what about O’Bagy and the Syrian Emergency Task Force? Otherwise known as SETF? Check out PJ Media:

Here’s a jaw-dropper: O’Bagy criticized Israel for killing Hamas leader Ahmed al-Jabari last November. But enough about her.

The SETF’s executive director is one Mouaz Moustafa. This is Moustafa.

And look, here he is in Syria. That’s Sen. John McCain there in the middle, and a couple of Islamist kidnappers behind him.

Moustafa and O’Bagy arranged McCain’s trip to Syria through the Syrian Emergency Task Force.

You probably have guessed where this is going by now. Mr. Moustafa is a Palestinian Arab, and was involved in the Libya war before he turned up in Syria. He openly hates Israel. He opposed the overthrow of Mohammed Morsi in Egypt. He hearts Hamas. Connect that dot to O’Bagy’s take on the strike that killed Ahmed al-Jabari, above.

In short, the man behind the source for the notion that Syria’s rebellion is moderate is, himself, an Islamist among Islamists, according to FrontPage.

Senator McCain called Moustafa a “patriot”, but it’s not clear which country he’s a patriot of, since it’s not Mouaz Moustafa’s first time around on the regime change bus tour.

Before the Syrian Emergency Task Force, Moustafa was the Executive Director of the Libyan Council of North America, which like the SETF existed to help push regime change. Before that, he mentions working with “rebels” in Egypt. His Twitter account frequently features anti-Israel material, including calls for a Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem. On his YouTube account, he “liked” a video featuring Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, “crying while praying”.

Other than that, all is well in the swamp.

Gun control and the Democrats destruction of wildlife conservation

What Progressives and Democratic Presidential candidates in particular are not aware is that the bulk of wildlife conservation funding comes from the sale of firearms and ammunition in the form of an excise tax.  Add to that the sale of hunting licenses as a revenue producer. Here we go:

Almost $1 billion each year goes to state wildlife and natural resource agencies courtesy of checks written by firearms, ammunition, and related manufacturers. It is the result of an 11 percent excise tax on firearms, ammunition, and related goods known as Pittman-Robertson, or the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937.

The act was originally proposed by the firearms industry and supported by conservation groups like the National Wildlife Federation. It was bipartisan. It allowed states to marshal resources needed to recover dwindling populations of animals like white tail deer, elk, turkeys, and others. Because much of the success benefited hunters, there is a false assumption: they “pay the bill” in generating the tax. While it was mostly true in 1937, now it’s mostly not.

…What they don’t understand are the demographics of today’s gun ownership. Even as hunting‘s popularity is slowly declining, sport and practical shooting are way up. By sheer numbers, more people in America are shooting now than ever, although less are hunting.

Even more telling, half of all firearms purchased are handguns. These are primarily semiautomatics, also identified as “assault weapons” in misguided legislation. Ammunition purchased to use in these guns lines up in similar fashion.

VB Human Rights Commissioner writes that homosexuality is a “mental illness” “abomination”

Many of us have been wondering for years how much longer it would take for the Progressives to take it one step too far. How long could they trot out homophobic Muslims to so called “human rights” events when everyone knew exactly what their position on gay rights were. Looks like being on a Human Rights Commission might just do it. Will someone please ask the “squad” members of congress what they think about this?

This just might help turn Virginia our way.

Sunday Respite – Happy Halloween – All Souls Night – Samhain

This week we celebrate Halloween, All Souls Night and for others Samhain. I chose this video for today’s Sunday Respite.

Halloween is an annual holiday celebrated each year on October 31, and Halloween 2019 occurs this Thursday, October 31. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints; soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain.

The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating sweet treats.

This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31 they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.

Oxford students want University to ban clapping

Just when you think it cannot get more absurd it does. Oxford University no less. The next generation’s leaders will now become mute little automatons. Silent drones carrying out their master’s orders. It’s all about control – the hint I give you on a Friday.

The Oxford University student council is lobbying the prestigious British university to end applause, arguing that it could trigger anxiety and was unfair to disabled students.

The Oxford Student reported Wednesday that the council had passed a motion to “mandate the Sabbatical Officers to encourage the use of British Sign Language (BSL) clapping, otherwise known as ‘silent jazz hands’ at Student Council meetings and other official SU events,” and to “lobby the University” to make similar changes.

“Loud noises, including whooping and traditional applause, are argued to present an access issue for some disabled students who have anxiety disorders, sensory sensitivity, and/or those who use hearing impairment aids,” the university newspaper said.

The students’ decision comes a year after the University of Manchester Students’ Union made the same move to “avoid triggering anxiety and improve accessibility.” More at

New York in for a long cold winter with possible Nat Gas shortages

The attention has been on California’s power outages due in part to lawsuits in the Billions of dollars and fear of more liability for PG&E. Being held liable to this tune does nothing in fixing their problems. I connected the dots previously. Blame the government not PG&E Utility for CA fires and power blackouts

Here is another train wreck in the works.  New York has banned all things energy. What is known as the Williams pipeline has been blocked. National Grid says it cannot add any new customers since there is no way to increase supply. Now Cuomo has ordered that new customers be added even though there is not enough energy to meet the demand.

“…Mr. Cuomo has ordered the utility National Grid to resume natural-gas hookups that were suspended after his senseless pipeline veto this spring.”

Guess how this will end. Let’s connect these dots. One doesn’t need to be a Mensa candidate.

What happens when you don’t add any new supply lines? Last may I posted

New York has to get energy from Russia thanks to Cuomo and the eco-left

For eight years, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has capitulated to the eco-left. From preventing the construction of needed pipelines to banning fracking, he has implemented an extreme environmentalist agenda.

Now, the consequences of those decisions are hitting New York residents hard.

Earlier this year, it was reported how New York is facing shortages of natural gas, even though it has plentiful shale reserves and shares a border with Pennsylvania, a state that also has shale reserves. As the Wall Street Journal noted, “The reason for the shortage is obvious: The Cuomo administration has repeatedly blocked or delayed new pipeline projects. As a Con Ed spokesman put it, there is a ‘lot of natural gas around the country, but getting it to New York has been the strain.’”

It seems New York has a partial solution – import liquefied natural gas from Russia.

New York is not alone…earlier;

Russian Nat Gas has to be imported to New England but let’s get on Merkel

Trump huffs and puffs over Merkel’s arrangement for one big beautiful pipeline to run from Putin’s domain into the heart of Germany, guess who is dependent on the very same Nat gas from Putin? Massachusetts for one, and the rate the environmentalists are going, more of us to come.

An excellent example of just what has been allowed to happen that puts Americans at risk by a few nitwits. There, I said it and I cut to the chase.

Even the Boston Globe opined that “Massachusetts’ reliance on imported gas from one of the world’s most threatened places is also a severe indictment of the state’s inward-looking environmental and climate policies.”

Now back to the kerfuffle:

The New York Post says lawmakers are confused by Cuomo’s claim they get to decide on the Williams pipeline. In an editorial, the Wall Street Journal says Cuomo blocking the pipeline and then blaming National Grid for the moratorium is “another parable of how the political campaign to ban fossil fuels is detached from energy and economic reality.”

Yes… this is how it works New Yorkers:

“To add additional service would pose a risk to the integrity of our system and compromise natural gas use for our existing 1.8 million customers in New York City and on Long Island,” said Karen Young, the National Grid spokesperson. The result is that, while existing customers are unaffected, those attempting to get a new hookup are denied new service.

Supreme court rules Baltimore climate change lawsuit against energy companies can proceed

The Robert’s Supreme court deals another blow. This time to the energy industry. The Supremes will allow a State court to proceed with an energy law suit at the same time the case resides in the fourth circuit federal appeals court for a ruling on jurisdiction.  The court did not disclose a vote count or reasons for rejecting the request for a stay. Just to show how bizarre this is:

Former Mayor Catherine Pugh decided to move ahead with the case, (2018) despite decisions against similar lawsuits in California and New York only days before Baltimore’s filing. In California, District Judge William Alsup determined in May 2018 that cases brought by the cities of San Francisco and Oakland against energy companies belonged in the federal judiciary, and strongly questioned key parts of the case, including the allegation that energy companies had created a “public nuisance” against an entire community. Rebuking the plaintiffs, he stated, “If we didn’t have fossil fuels, would have lost [World War II] and every other war. Planes wouldn’t fly. Trains wouldn’t run. And we’d be back in the Stone Age.”

But not the first of this:

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld a Virginia law that bans mining at the nation’s largest known uranium deposit.

Bloomberg

Sure, why not stop our Uranium production after Hillary was kind enough to give 20 percent of our deposits to the Russians.

The Supreme Court allowed the city of Baltimore to proceed with its climate change lawsuit against two dozen fossil fuel companies Tuesday, after the corporate defendants asked the justices to put the dispute on hold.

The oil and natural gas companies — among them BP, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, and Royal Dutch Shell — are fighting to move Baltimore’s lawsuit out of a Maryland state court into a federal court. They wanted the justices to stop state court proceedings while they fight to remove the dispute to a federal forum.

The lawsuit alleges that the fossil fuel companies have engaged in a “coordinated, multi-front effort” to conceal the harm of greenhouse gas emissions that attend the use of their products. The plaintiffs claim the energy industry has been investigating atmospheric carbon accumulation since at least 1958, and has long been aware of its environmental consequences.

After Baltimore lawyers filed their complaint in state court, the corporate defendants tried to move the case to federal court. U.S. District Judge Ellen Hollander rejected that request. The companies are now fighting that decision in the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which has yet to produce a decision.

The defendants went to the Supreme Court because state proceedings are slated to continue while the 4th Circuit considers their bid to move the dispute into the federal system.

Baltimore suit of 26 energy companies for injuries sustained in climate change, heatwaves, continues

In the process, of course, we do untold damage to important industries that we need or want for our country’s wheels to go round. In this case in Baltimore against energy companies.

Another example of this type of action is suing various drug manufacturers for billions of dollars regarding Opioids.  Continuing this course will either bankrupt the companies, or damage them to the extent of limiting the research funds available for new discoveries.

The opioid manufacturers included in the lawsuit are Purdue Pharma, Cephalon, Inc. and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, while the opioid distributors are McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health, Inc. and AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp. More than 1,800 lawsuits have been filed against opioid manufacturers, distributors and pharmacies.

Jury rules against dad trying to save his 7-year-old from gender ‘transition’

In a heart breaking decision by  a “woke”  jury of the dad’s peers, a child will be chemically castrated. Dallas Texas is apparently turning more than “purple.” Hard to believe now that juries will be making decisions regarding the future health and life of children.

DALLAS, Texas, October 21, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A jury has ruled against Jeffrey Younger, the father who is trying to protect his seven-year-old son, James, from chemical castration via a gender “transition.” This means James’ mother, Dr. Anne Georgulas, will be able to continue “transitioning” him into “Luna,” and now has full authority to start him on puberty blockers and eventually cross-sex hormones.

The jury’s decision likely means that Mr. Younger will be required to “affirm” James as a girl, despite his religious and moral objections, and will also be forced to take a class on transgenderism.

With a consensus of 11 of the 12 jurors, the jury decided not to grant Mr. Younger Sole Managing Conservatorship over his two twin boys. They voted that the current Joint Managing Conservatorship should be replaced by a Sole Managing Conservatorship, but that Mr. Younger should not be that person. Judge Kim Cooks will read her ruling on possession, child support, and Dr. Georgulas’ other requests at 1:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday.
