Not a ripple in the water that Germany’s influence grows as Merkel’s pal gains power. The next President of the European Commission promises to bring a Utopia that Europe may soon regret. While we focus on Britain and its Brexit problem, a more sinister plot of the E.U. moves along unabated.
Former German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen has been narrowly confirmed as the next President of the European Commission, the powerful administrative arm of the European Union.
Do these policies sound familiar at all? This should give a shiver to those Brits if they still have any sense. Germany never gives up. What a war could not do, a pen will.
- An examination of von der Leyen’s main policy proposals reveals that she is calling for a massive expansion of top-down powers of the European Commission. Her proposals would substantially increase the role of Brussels in virtually all aspects of economic and social life in Europe — all at the expense of national sovereignty.
- Von der Leyen warned that Brussels would overrule EU member states opposed to her tax overhaul… She called for a comprehensive “European Rule of Law Mechanism” to ensure the primacy of EU law over the national laws of EU member states. She warned that there would be financial consequences for member states that refuse to comply…. She called for a change in rules so that the EU could act even without the unanimous consent of EU member states
- “What you’ve seen from Ursula von der Leyen today is an attempt by the EU to take control of every single aspect of our lives. She wants to build a centralized, undemocratic, updated form of Communism that will render [obsolete] nation state parliaments, where the state controls everything, where nation state parliaments will cease to have any relevance at all.”
“But it is in the aspect of defense that I think people’s minds should be focused. She’s a fanatic for building a European Army, but she’s not alone. When it’s completed, NATO will cease to exist or will not have any relevance in Europe at all.”— Nigel Farage, European Parliament, July 16, 2019.
Finally, a new “Common European Asylum System” would require all EU member states to offer asylum to migrants who request it: “We all need to help each other and contribute.”

Three guesses what Poland, Hungary, ad Italy (at least) are going to tell her. Starts with F…
And she isn’t going to get any money from them either without rolling tanks.

I think Boris will get it done. Tell the EU they are leaving without a deal if necessary by a specific date. I’ll bet big money the EU caves and either makes a deal before exit and most certainly after exit if not done yet. They exhibit NO qualities of strength. The very fact that they created the EU in the first pace to save their sorry socialist economies tells you all you need to know. They’ll fold like Boy George at a gay strip club after 7 Pink Squirrels and a couple Fuzzy Navels.

By the time the EU receives the hordes… I would assume most from Africa and the Middle East, I would think the sweet sounds of the call to Muslim worship will ring throughout the land.

The EU has adopted the federalist model of the United States. They have formed a de facto “United States of Europe” and declared that its member states (countries) are less important than in the operation and unity of the whole. The Europeans have put together an organization that mirrors our relationship to the US federal government.
Interesting, though … prior to the Civil War, we had a greater loyalty (duty) to our home state than we did that bedbug infested capital in Washington. We understand this once we realize that the genesis of our rights as citizens (our birth right) is the state of our birth. The federal government does not issue birth certificates; states do. Moreover, the US constitution (Bill of Rights) does not pertain to us (as citizens of states) until state legislatures incorporate them into state laws.
I support federalism, a condition where states exercise authority over their citizens and territories in areas not specifically enumerated in the federal Constitution. The sad fact is that over many years, our states have relinquished their sovereignty to the federal government. There are more than a few examples of this, but let’s just note that the federal government has egregiously violated our Fourth Amendment rights, and our states, our primary guardians, have allowed the federal government to get away with it. Why? A fully engaged state government should sue the federal government for violating the US Constitution … but what we are hearing instead are crickets.
I certainly do agree with you, but I have to say that the EU have merely implemented the American playbook and placed it on the fast track. While our state officials are all sitting around with baseball bats shoved up their asses, we are heading in this same direction … and this is so easy for them to do since hardly anyone in the US today knows what federalism is or how it’s supposed to work in our country.

I got that from the full story…..interesting will be the intention of the military.. Their own apparently as reported. What do they think will happen after the hordes are embraced? One for all and all for one? I doubt it… This vote ensured a path Europe will come to regret.

Just as Trump gave his thumbs up to Britain’s new PM is it in the cards for our congress to give a thumbs up to Druzilla? Bernie, where are you?

We fought a war to deliver Europe fro a fascism they are voting themselves into.
Was the populace hoodwinked and now enslaved?
Britain figured it out and reinforced that yesterday.

Europe is gone for all extent and purposes. With the flood of “immigrants” their cultures will not even be a memory in a few years. Wiped out. What war could not do, the pen will.
