In another politically correct move, Statuary Hall located in the Capitol will be having a new look. No doubt in a move to highlight the cultural phenomenon that changed Arkansas. Out go supposedly Confederate Statute fellows replaced with musician types. Johnny Cash is coming to Statuary Hall
Look, I got it, with reparations under discussion, the Civil War history needs to be cleaned up and moved out. But Johnny Cash? It is claimed that Clarke, who was once a US Senator, held segregationist views and Rose had sided with the Confederacy. They are moving out. I vote for Rocky Balboa next. Why not?
According to a report from the Washington Post.
The Statuary Hall Collection comprises 100 statues, two from each state. It was created by an act of Congress in 1864 to allow each state to commemorate “deceased persons who have been citizens thereof, and illustrious for their historic renown or for distinguished civic or military services.” Decisions about which individuals to memorialize are made by state legislatures and governors.
The installation of Confederate leaders in the seat of American political power is neither accident nor oversight. In happened in the early years of the 20th century with the emergence of the so-called Lost Cause myth, which idealized and whitewashed the Confederacy’s origins and existence.
Each state is allowed to have two statues on display and are permitted to replace them as long as they cover the costs.

First off, I can’t say I ever LIKED Johnny Cash….but to clear out America’s history with the likes of HIM is beyond me. The generations to come are gonna be so ignorant in our great country’s history….history books are gonna be filled with wusses, instead of heroes!! I’m glad I won’t be around to see the sad ending to all this in decades to come.

OMG, please let’s not give these cultural marxists any additional ideas. Honestly though, they are erasing our history. Read an article a few years back that those who are erasing our history conspired to eliminate it from the our history books, the time frame of which begins with the end of the Civil War all the way to the founders.
Meaning that the grand children, great grandchildren and so on of today’s stupid Black Americans who can’t brush their teeth without throwing the race card out there will not only be ignorant to the founding of this great nation but the fact that they hailed from slaves…in the United States and before that. Oh, the irony.

Yea, well, we’re on the path. DJT will do us some good but I don’t think it will be lasting. Hope I’m wrong. No dubt the kids are going to have to feel some serious pain of bad decision making before they have a chance of getting rid of their communist ideas.
Notice they’re bitching about Tiger Woods about to get the Medal of Freedom, but they sue were wite when loser POS like Baba Striedand and others were given the medal by obama….. I don’t think their brains work.

The ignorance is something to behold.. Watching golf last week, and was there anybody aware how happy millions of white people were rooting for Tiger Woods for a come back? I sure didn’t see many black faces out there cheering him on. Yea, we are a racist nation aren’t we.

What we’re talking about here is selective memory. I’m not very good at making predictions, but I’ll take a stab at it and predict that in the next 100 years, Americans will fondly remember no one who assembled the building blocks of our nation.
In fact, all of colonial America was in some way connected to human slavery. I’ll recommend “Complicity: How the North Promoted, Prolonged, and Profited from Slavery,” by Anne Farrow, Joel Lang, and Jennifer Frank. If one wanted to engage in finger-pointing, which is a waste of time, there is plenty of blame to go around for the stain of human bondage in America. But unless you personally participated in it, there is no basis for guilt, either individually or regionally. Slavery was a problem, of course —resolved at a horrific cost in lives. We should wonder why Democrats are working so hard to keep racial enmity alive and vibrant 154 years later. The poster boy for this, in my opinion, is Barack Obama—one of America’s more infamous racists since the heady old days of Woodrow Wilson.
We cannot erase the stains of history, but we can learn from them. Yet, learning isn’t possible without first knowing. Even with knowing, it is difficult to push back against the way we’re wired. We ought to ask, is it racism that keeps us disunited, or is it some other underlying issue? Statues of southern statesmen or famous generals doesn’t perpetuate anything; they are only “teaching moments.” We’re just too stupid to figure this out. If you can destroy a nation’s history, you can destroy the nation. Democrats know this; this is their goal.
My theory is that who we once were explains in large measure who we still are. The influence of the Scots-Irish migrations in the development of modern American society cannot be overstated. They were literally tens of thousands of people who themselves escaped the bonds of Anglo-Norman slavery by migrating to America. They (in modern parlance, we) never understood how any people (regardless of the color of their skin) could so meekly allow themselves placed into human bondage, and so happily remain there. I recommend Jim Webb’s “Born fighting: How the Scot-Irish Shaped America. It is not in the nature of the Scots-Irish to accept domination by any other group. I believe it is this repudiation (more than simple racism) that acts as the greatest social wedge. A willingness among blacks and poor whites to allow the Democratic Party (and its policies) to enslave them, strip away their human dignity, continues to disgust tens of millions of Scots-Irish-American descendants today.
Johnny Cash? Sure. I enjoyed his music, but don’t think for a moment he represents what the left envisions as “a tolerant society.” Social unity is only possible once individuals are able to respect one another. That’s not possible for many of us when some of our fellow citizens demonstrate a sadly consistent incapacity to think and reason for themselves. The progressive movement in America today is in fact regressive; it seeks to maintain the status quo of racial enmity. Their success in doing this is the only explanation for why the Democratic Party continues to exist today. Democrats, as a political group, are the only people in our country today who have profited from the worst form of disrespect —that of harboring low expectations toward their ethnic minority fellow citizens.
