We enter Holy Week.
Holy Week, in the Christian church, the week between Palm Sunday and Easter, observed with special solemnity as a time of devotion to the Passion of Jesus … A time for deep reflection.
I chose the following piece of music today which I think lends itself to that reflection. I have special music planned beginning with Maundy Thursday, and hope you will stop by for the music as we conclude Hoy week.
Song: Hymn of the Cherubim Composer: Piotr Illitch Tchaikovsky (1840 – 1893) Performed by: USSR Ministry of Culture Chamber Choir
The Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom is the most celebrated divine liturgy (or “mass”) in the Byzantine Rite. It is named after its core part, the anaphora attributed to Saint John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople in the 5th century.

Beautiful music, inspiring video. I loved it. I skipped over Mustang’s posting this morning…with the promising days’ weather we’ve been having, I’ve been outdoors…blissfully ignoring politics/politicians.

a beautiful time of the year, for sure…reflection, solemnity, gratitude. At our church today, it was happy, upbeat, promising music of God’s love and Hosannas and we had a new Black family whose female portion of the group kept saying ‘Hallelujah” and “Thank you, Jesus!” during the fabulous sermon. It was so sweet and so ‘pure’ somehow…that kind of belief fills me up!
