Maxine Waters will Chair Financial Services Committee – get out and vote!

I have been trying to think of something to post today that would be a motivator for Tuesday’s election. I looked through clips of Thomas Paine, John Adams, military bands, you have the drift. But of course, there is nothing more terrifying than the thought that Maxine Waters would be chair of the Financial Services Committee.Yes, I think this clip ought to do it.

One of the most corrupt politicians in congress.

The United States House Committee on Financial Services (also referred to as the House Banking Committee) is the committee of the United States House of Representatives that oversees the entire financial services industry, including the securities, insurance, banking, and housing industries. The Committee also oversees the work of the Federal Reserve, the United States Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and other financial services regulators.

Speaking this week at Black Women Network Breakfast, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told voters that payback is coming if the Democrats take back the House.

Waters told the attendees how “important” the upcoming midterm election is.

“First of all, if we take back the House, most of the members of the Congressional Black Caucus will be chairs of the committees of the Congress of the United States of America,” Waters told the group. I will be the first African-American, the first woman to chair the powerful Financial Services Committee. That’s all of Wall Street. That’s all the insurance companies, that’s all the banks. And so, of course, the CEOs of the banks now are saying, ‘What can we do to stop Maxine Waters? Because if she gets in, she’s going to give us a bad time.’”

She continued, “I have not forgotten you foreclosed on our houses. I have not forgotten that you undermined our communities. I have not forgotten that you sold us those exotic products, had us sign on the dotted line for junk, and for mess that we could not afford. And in doing that, I have people who are homeless who have never gotten back into a home. What am I going to do to you? What I am going to do to you is fair. I’m going to do to you what you did to us.”

Number One, I am praying to the Almighty that Progressives do not get the House.

Number Two, Every time that I hear Maxine Waters’ name, two words come to mind, i.e., GRAND LARCENY.

The New York State 2018 ballots were HORRIBLE enough, the worst that they have ever been. Full of Progressives up and down the ticket. You can count the number of Republicans…literally.

I voted via absentee ballot this year but returned my ballot, certified mail, return receipt requested. There’s just something about the Board of Elections under Bill de Blasio that forced me to go there. Thus, I must hold on to all the hope in the world that Congress stays in the hands of Republicans even though Paul Ryan threw as many wrenches in there as humanly possible.

I think one thing that is easy to forget about is all the committee chairmanships that will fall in to the Democrat’s control if they take over the House. That alone should be enough to motivate people to head to the polls but the thought of Waters being head of the financial services committee should scare the hell out of everybody!

One good thing about NJ’s own Bob Menendez, indicted for engaging under age orostitutes, accepting illegal contributions ( read bribes), protecting his a-hole buddy who was sent to jail for stealing millions from Medicare/Medicaid, among other law breaking activities from which Bobby skated, doesn’t talk as much as Maxine. Ol’ Bob will win re-election in a cakewalk this Tuesday. Welcome to the Garbage State.

You haven’t seen the TV ads running here. The pro Hillary Obama-bots are voting against Trump which as I maintain will will have the seat called by 8:05pm Tuesday. I could be wrong, lets hope so.

I have little hope for the House.. I couldn’t understand why Trump wasn’t making an effort on supporting more of them since many are so close…instead it was Govs and Senate.
Someone opined that was the firewall. It seemed it was safe for the GOP.. a few seats here or there won’t matter if the House goes Dem.
Anyway, what is done is done… we will know in a few minutes after 8 I do believe. Prepared for the worse.

I think I tend to agree with you Bunks, but I have to admit to you that you could fill up warehouses with things I don’t understand about backroom politics. It is possible that Trump realizes these two things: his strength in maintaining the Trump Train is in the Senate. The House has not helped him in material ways over the past two years, and it was in the hands of the GOP (mostly RINOs, though). He wants strong governorships; he wants a strong senate. A Democratic House may actually help him in the 2020 elections. We’ll return to two years of “no budget” and a series of continuing resolutions … and he will jump on this obstructionism with two feet. That’s what I think … but honestly, I can’t remember the last time anyone from the White House called me for my opinion.

Mustang…. interesting that you said that… I had that thought drift through as well. My only question/concern is that the two years will so destructive to him can he sustain it.
They will get his tax returns. Several committees claim a right to it…the hearings will be non stop. The press will cover them non stop.
My hope will be that the country will be so disgusted by it that it will turn out as you suggest. But it will be one heck of a nasty ride.
