What is it with making all of these super big bucks on federal housing projects? Recall the mysterious Valerie Jarrett’s path to riches? Looks like Claire and her family have the same penchant for getting bucks the easy way. Don’t you just love all these Dems feeding off the government trough, denying help to those they claim they care so much about? Of course guess who will line up en masse at the voters line come November to support their non benefactor.
Businesses tied to Claire McCaskill’s family received $131 MILLION in federal dollars.
The Kansas City Star reported:
Businesses tied to U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill’s husband have been awarded more than $131 million in federal subsidies since the Missouri Democrat took office in 2007, an analysis by The Kansas City Star found.
Joseph Shepard’s personal income from his investments in those businesses has grown exponentially during his wife’s two terms in the Senate.
The federal payments don’t go directly into Shepard’s pocket. Most of the money goes toward operating costs for government-subsidized housing projects Shepard is invested in. Those companies then distribute the profits to Shepard and other investors.
In 2006, the year before McCaskill entered the Senate, her husband’s personal income from those investments was between $1,608 and $16,731, according to the senator’s financial disclosure forms.
In 2017, five years into McCaskill’s second term, Shepard personally earned between $365,374 and $1,118,158 from investments in housing projects that received federal subsidies, the disclosure forms show. Disclosure forms only provide ranges of income. H/T: Gateway Pundit
Valerie Jarrett: “Jarrett [managed] a controversial low-income housing project located in Obama’s former state senate district… [the] complex was considered ‘uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage… In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale — a score so bad the buildings now face demolition.’ …According to documents uncovered by Judicial Watch, Jarrett is also linked to a series of other shady real estate scandals involving convicted felon and former Obama fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko…”
Jarrett was also named in a 2008 Boston Globereport on Grove Parc, an immense housing complex largely funded by taxpayers and managed by her company. After burning through millions in public funds, Jarrett’s management skills resulted in a complex that was largely “uninhabitable.”
Earlier this year The Boston Globe reported on the stunning failures of Jarrett’s companies. “Jarrett is the chief executive of Habitat Co., which managed Grove Parc Plaza from 2001 until this [past] winter and co-managed an even larger subsidized complex in Chicago that was seized by the federal government in 2006, after city inspectors found widespread problems.”
Valerie Jarrett, a product of Chicago’s Daley machine, couldn’t manage a housing complex with millions in taxpayer funds. But she will be a big help in the swamp.
