Clapper, Tapper Have ‘Serious Problem’ If they Leaked Info about Dossier

The noose is making a slow turn and the question is will we nail Clapper? The little weasel deserves it, and Tapper may be in big trouble. Paging Jeff Sessions. Included is an excellent analysis by Jonathan Turley.

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley said that James Clapper could have a “serious problem” legally if he leaked information to CNN about the Trump-Russia dossier.

Clapper, the former director of national intelligence, said in a March 12 CNN interview that he had no contact with anyone from the media until after he left the government.

The House Intelligence Committee, though, found in a heavily redacted report that he provided “inconsistent testimony” about his contacts with the media regarding information leaks.

‘Jake Tapper may want to lawyer-up’: House report exposes CNN reporter as potential participant in ‘political espionage’

The report released Friday by the House Intelligence Committee regarding its investigation into alleged Russian collusion by the president’s election campaign appears to contain a stunning truth bomb about CNN host Jake Tapper: He may have participated in political espionage, according to one high-profile attorney.

In early 2017 he allowed then-National Intelligence Director James Clapper to leak information to him about the infamous Trump dossier and about a high-level government meeting held between then-President-elect Donald Trump and then-FBI Director James Comey.

“Clapper’s discussion with Tapper took place in early January 2017, around the time IC [intelligence community] leaders briefed President Obama and President-elect Trump, on” the dossier, the report specifically reads.

Afterward Tapper and three of his colleagues published a story containing the information Clapper had provided him, including info about the highly classified dossier.

Right now, we only have an Immigration AG. We need an additional AG to handle all the rest of the stuff.

I am not so sure even that now. Have you seen them pour across the border> Why did we call up the National Guard? Where are all the judges ? Border Guards?

As far as I can tell, the immigration/asylum laws are written in such as way so as to let just about anyone in if they say the magic words, which all illegals have been coached to recite. We could send all of the National Guard and they’d have little effect. Congress needs to deal with this but they won’t in any timely manner or at all.
I read that there are over a million illegals waiting for due process to be deported and there simply aren’t enough judges, courts, lawyers, hamsters or slices of cheese to deal with them
My personal hope is that we can classify this whole thing as a National Security Issue, rather than an immigration issue and therefore the President will have extra special powers to deal with this invasion.

My first guess would be that a journalist is free to publish anything provided to him or her if obtained from a government source and is credited to that source; Clapper on the other hand could be in hot water if we had an AG that had a pair … big if in the case of Sessions, though.

It certainly looks like this investigation is turning up crimes and they are on the Democratic side. How Clapper isn’t already in trouble is beyond me. It is time for Sessions to either crap or get off the pot!

I wonder all the time now-a-days why some stories remain hush hush for so long…then all of a sudden some eye popping story is revealed that was probably known all along. Politics & politicians … tsk-tsk! It all is so evil & mind boggling. Like the movie quote… I’m mad as hell…

Sessions would most likely have to recuse himself since his father’s sister in-law’s great grandfather and Clappers great great uncle once ate in the same white only luncheonette in Montgomery, Alabama in 1863.
