Why are U.S. retired spies now in the limelight?

As former CIA and FBI people froth at the mouth, it’s good to recall this is not the way it was or is supposed to be. NPR did a good piece and worth a look. I’ll include a couple of the greatest hits from the deepest of the deep State. Trump must be getting very close to disrupting the activities of the Deep State for them to come up and out of their hedge row. Maybe they were so sure they would continue in power with the election of Hillary and their corruption pattern insured? Maybe it’s a temper tantrum that after a life time of power they are the ones condemned to the dust bin of history.

When Michael Hayden ran the CIA and the National Security Agency, his public comments were largely confined to congressional testimony. Now that he’s retired, “I’m on Twitter and I’m on CNN,” said Hayden.

He was also the featured guest as dozens of former national security officials and several current ones spoke at a recent conference on threats the U.S. faces.

Spies used to retire and fade away as quietly as when they were on duty. Now they go on cable TV. They write op-eds. They take to Twitter and criticize the president.

John Brennan, an ex-CIA chief, has tweeted just 25 times.Yet he’s amassed more than 220,000 followers by lambasting the president in comments like this one below, unleashed last month, when FBI official Andrew McCabe was fired. More at  NPR

Our nation is one among very few that makes room for divergent opinions. It should be this way if we hope to keep our Republic. On the other hand, I have never understood how individuals who have made a commitment to serve their Constitution admit to being Democrats. This would include high ranking military officers, members of the intelligence community, and added to this, ministers, business leaders, and media moguls. I make this observation given the philosophy behind what was once one of America’s political parties, now transformed into the neo-Marxism of progressive thought. How can they imagine themselves serving their country when they work so hard to transform America into a soviet-styled state? How can one say that they support the Constitution (the basis for oaths of office) while working to deny the American people rights guaranteed to them in the Bill of Rights? It just doesn’t make any sense to me, and so I must conclude that people like this, no matter how brilliant their military or naval service, or their service to the intelligence agencies, are no more than faux Americans. I must conclude that they are the enemy within … hence the phrase, in the oath of office “… support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.” It is long past the time for average America to wake the hell up … and if not that, a soviet-styled state we will become.

except we barely ‘allow’ for divergent opinions anymore; not if you watch any television, read periodicals or newspapers, internet articles……….we’re so divided it’s breathtaking…We sure do have to ‘wake the hell up!’

Being divided over opinion is not so much the problem as it is conspiring to undermine the rights of others. Can you imagine anyone who is a true American telling someone else that they must keep their opinion to themselves because they regard opinion as “hate” speech? Or can you imagine taking an oath to the US Constitution and then arguing in favor of the Patriot Act, which seeks to undermine a citizen’s Fourth Amendment rights (establishing FISA (secret) courts), wire-tapping presidential candidates, or even trying to undermine a citizen’s right to bear arms? Conspiring to manufacture a dossier known to be false is hardly the expression of a divergent opinion, is it? I am so amazed by how far we’ve fallen in this country, and in so short a time.

Mustang.. its almost to the point where I live. There is no space for political discussions. It will totally end friendships. Mission accomplished.

Their venom reeks of their intentions. Threatening the sitting President of the United States. They display their hubris in the fullest. Yet where may I ask is the outrage? Clapper is rewarded a position with CNN the very network he shared his wares. Yet the beat goes on, and this was my poorest received post in a long time. Maybe because its May Day… Thanks for the comment.

You all know, of course, that May Day, in Europe, is all about socialism, if not communism! They sell little sweet bouquets of flowers on street corners, and contribute that to very leftist labor groups! I didn’t care, I LOVE Lilies of the Valley!

Clapper and Brennan are frequently on CNN and now I believe it’s Clapper who’s working for them SURPRISE 🙂 (Not)
They disgust me…nobody writes a tweet like that about a sitting president….nobody but a swine like Brennan.
awful people……and all in cohoots…that pic of the 3 of them is perfect….they ought to have horns on their heads!
