Trump gives a win to ‘Little Sisters of the Poor’, Others, negates birth control, sterilization mandate

How easy it is to forget what an out of control administration we had with Obama. Even though The Little Sisters of the Poor appeared to have won the battle in the Supreme Court, Obama had his pen and overrode it. So here is a reminder with the clip of the Nuns. Let us hope Trump finds his pen and this is the beginning of his attack on Obamacare.

Am I the only one who recalls all of the thousands of waivers that were handed out in the beginning of the implementation of Obamacare? If you had the right connections for your business, no problem. We thought we had a win with Hobby Lobby at the Supreme Court. And we did . But guess what Obama did with that damnable pen of his? Hobby Lobby Employees Will Get Birth Control Under A New Rule That Sidesteps Supreme Court’s Decision. Obama overrides the Supreme Court. Apparently, the “Little Sisters of the Poor” did not escape the wrath either, and lost another round with the Tenth Circuit, deeming them not religious enough. Take a look at this moving clip and you tell me if they are not religious enough.

President Donald Trump’s administration announced Friday that it will provide employers with religious or moral objections to providing birth control in their employee health insurance plans an exemption.

The administration’s exemption includes “any non-profit organization that have a religious or moral objection to providing contraception,” a senior Health and Human Services (HHS) official told reporters Friday. The new rule takes effect immediately. In addition to non-profits, the rule applies to “for-profit entities that are publicly traded,” colleges, universities and health insurance companies. The new rule takes effect immediately.

Starting in 2012, Obamacare required employers to provide insurance coverage for contraception at no cost to women. The rule did provide a caveat for churches and even tried to extend that to religiously-oriented groups. Religious groups rejected the offer and filed a number of lawsuits, which led to 2 Supreme Court cases. SCOTUS ordered that the Obama administration and religious organizations come to an agreement as to how to provide contraceptive coverage at no cost to women, but such an agreement never materialized. Nobody should pay for anybody else’s birth control, let along fellow citizens. None of our business…and no right is given them for US to pay for them to have sex and not worry. Picture a teenager walking up to a nun and asking for $8 (it’s very cheap) for birth control. What’s the difference from that and the Sisters of the Poor having to pay for employees?

    I’d say “screw ’em..!” but………well……..

    🙂

Along with this policy move, with which I agree, Trump also removed P3 funding for roads this week. Yay! Two wins in a row….a good week for us. (As for the health insurance debacle, Congress is complicit in refusing to get rid of O NO Care. Sorry to hear the experience of Linda above. Total disaster for many, if not most.)

Just FYI, there is a corrupt toll rd. project in my area, a P3 contract with a foreign contractor that is creating hell on the north side of Charlotte, NC affecting thousands of commuters. It’s a nightmare. That’s why I’m glad to see this policy change….not a minute too soon.

Thanks for that info. I had not read that…yes… Rendall in PA was anxious to do it in PA and it was a close vote as I recall. He was going to take a part of route 80 for one. P.S. No word from our Southern mutual friend. I think of him often.

Yep, on the toll rd scam. Same here on our friend. I had a sense he wasn’t in the best of health when we were frequently conversing with him, back then. Now, I can only imagine. I remember he had eye problems, too. No telling, Bunker. I hope he knows we are thinking of him.

You really don’t want my opinion on this insurance stuff, do you? (grinning)— About time….no one should mandate birth control or even insurance. I’m telling you, this world is going to heck in a handbasket…do you know the insurance company required me to have two psychological exams for my upcoming surgery? They weren’t satisfied with the first one, so they required a second one, never minding the dr.’s orders that the surgery is required and its a emergency, making me wait until the 31st…I guess they refer me to hemorrhage to death instead (tmi). Don’t get me going on this insurance stuff. Thanks Obama…and I don’t even have ‘Obamacare’.
