If DOJ Rosenstein resigns, up comes GOP Rachel Brands

Maybe one lightbulb shining over at the DOJ? It might be possible to squeeze out Rosenstein who essentially now is running all that matters over there. He has huge conflict of interest issues. According to Zero Hedge, we have a GOPer next in line. It’s hard to find anything to be cheerful about with this whole thing, but let’s take a look at Rachel Brand. The fact that Fauxcahontas was on the warpath against her is a plus:

Before this morning, most people in the United States had never heard of Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand.  But, an ABC story (which covered here) suggesting that Acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein may have to recuse himself from overseeing Special Counsel Mueller’s Russia probe, and that Brand would be the next inline to step into that position, changed all that.

So what do we know about Rachel Brand?  Well, we know 4 things with absolute certainty:

  1. She was appointed by the Trump administration and confirmed on May 18, 2017
  2. She is an active contributor to Republican campaigns
  3. Democrats hate her
  4. Therefore, by the transitive property, we also know with absolute certainty she is a Russian spy.

This is how ABC described Brand:

As for Brand, she previously led the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Policy, and she most recently served as a member of the government’s Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. She graduated from Harvard Law School and clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, according to the Justice Department.

Sessions recently said she “has proven herself to be a brilliant lawyer.”

“She is also a dedicated public servant who is strongly committed to upholding the rule of law and our Constitution,” he added.

I think Rosenstein is going to have no choice but to recuse himself at this point. I didn’t know anything about Brand but like you said if Lizzy is against her she must be okay.

I would like our country to return to a time when doing right always trumped political expediency (no pun intended), but then I’m afraid we’d have to return to the late 1700s.

She is/was a major supporter of Ted Cruz… imagine she giving up her career to do the right thing…. ending her career essentially.

Is Rosenstein just out on the Russian investigation or altogether? I’m not following this recusal thing.
So Brand would ONLY be in this position when the Russia investigation applies?|
This made me laugh out loud ; Therefore, by the transitive property, we also know with absolute certainty she is a Russian spy.

Looks to me that Rosentein wiill have to recuse himself..with what this whole thing that Mueller is looking at as I follow it. She could fall on her sword and fire Mueller.

Mr. President, stop tweeting, start doing. Drain the swamp.
Reinstate Sessions, Fire Mueller. Take charge.
What could the consequence be? A media backlash?
How could we tell the difference?
Now I’m going to copy and paste this comment as a blog post. Thanks for the help.

You nailed it. Silver Fiddle left a comment over at Always on watch on Yesterday’s post on what Trump should do– listed under my comment. Worth looking at.

Thanks. I missed it. From Politico (I found this in response to your comment at my place, thanks):
According to the regulations, Rosenstein can block major investigative steps by Mueller, but must report to Congress if that happens. Rosenstein can fire Mueller “for misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, or for other good cause.” Trump can’t fire Mueller directly, but in theory could order Rosenstein to dismiss Mueller and could fire Rosenstein if he didn’t comply. The president could then seek out someone who would dismiss the special prosecutor.

This just gets more and more interesting…doesn’t it? I personally have had enough…lol–she sounds like a good one to lead the Justice Department. Although it would be political suicide to do so, Trump just needs to shut this all down. SHUT IT DOWN MR. PRESIDENT. (I have a feeling he can’t hear me, wink). Whoever his handlers are, I just feel aren’t doing the job well…just saying.

Good point. Political suicide and the end of her career…..but a glimmer on reigning it in.
