Trayvon Martin to get Aeronautical Science degree posthumously

I for one have had enough politics. So let us go to the absurd and polish off this week knowing we can be secure that our next generation of fruit loops who attend college are in good hands. The only flight Trayvon ever took was getting high on his drug of choice.

Florida Memorial University will present a bachelor’s of aeronautical science May 13 to Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.

Trayvon Martin died in 2012 after neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman shot him during an altercation. (Ed: Zimmerman was found not guilty of any crime.)

“The University will confer upon TRAYVON MARTIN a posthumous degree in Aeronautical Science with a concentration in Flight Education, in honor of the steps he took during his young life toward becoming a pilot,” the school’s statement read.

Martin wanted to become a pilot or learn how to fly planes, the Tampa Bay Times reported earlier.

“As we approach 50 years in Miami Gardens, this commencement holds a special place in all of our hearts…Of special significance is awarding posthumously the Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation to Trayvon Martin,” Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, president of Florida Memorial University, said in a statement.

Thanks Tom. Hey, maybe the destruction/disembling of NASA as we knew it was the prototype for the destruction of our healthcare system. And while Obama’s muslims in space along with his outreach program may be shams and scams his people have managed to circle the globe without ever leaving terra firma.

Trayvon flying an airplane? Sounds like BS to me but given our present state of affairs with affirmative action, I suppose possible even if it meant killing a hundred or more whitey passengers. BTW I think the entire affirmative action thing started once we sent a monkey into space. It’s been down hill ever since.

According to Obama, it was the Muslims that got us to space. That was NASA’s final mission before he deep Sixed it. It should have told us everything we needed it to know. If was one of his first priorities – dismantling NASA and sending the brightest engineers packing.

The politicians tried to turn NASA in Socialism in space, but they had neither the competence or guts to make it work. After the Challenger blew up January 28, 1986, Reagan had to separate military launches from the Space Shuttle program. What should have happened after that is NASA should have used the Shuttle as a prototype and built something better. Instead, after the Challenger blew up, the politicians went looking for lower level bureaucrats to blame. Even Reagan did not know how to protect NASA’s managers from those filthy accusers.

After they finally started launching the Space Shuttle again, NASA found itself trying to make something that could not do what they wanted it to do work. The Space Shuttle was not reliable enough (remember the second disaster), and it could not launch a big enough payload into a polar orbit. Because it lacked the lift capacity, we built a three billion dollar launch site on the west coast that was never used.

What did the Space Shuttle accomplish? It conducted some useful research, but mostly it just garnered publicity because it could put people into orbit.

Think about it. The Challenger blew up January 28, 1986. That was in the 80’s. Because of refinements (We replaced the copper in the vehicle with fiber, for example.) in the design, what we launched in the 80’s was not exactly the same vehicle as what we launched before Obama further screwed up the program. Still, it was basically the same, and if NASA had been allowed to be more aggressive, we could have and would have built something better.

Given the way politicians can ruin anything, at this point we better off leaving space research to the military and private entrepreneurs. Private entrepreneurs may not have the money the government has, but at least they can spend it intelligently.

Thanks Tom for the background. I recall how proud we were- I was quite young- when we set a man on the moon. and how worried my parents were when the Russian got Sputnik up. We would go out at night and look for a streak in the sky when we were told the orbit would be overhead. A different time and place and gone forever.

I remember B O ĺand that doesn’t mean body odor] saying ‘If I had a son he’d be just like Trayvor’. I think this was instigated by his parents…part of some foundation they’re part of…at the FMU
