Seeing the above picture of the serviceman (a Marine?) saluting the flag made me think. June 22 the second to last Doolittle Raider died, Staff Sergeant David Thatcher. There is a picture of the last Raider still alive, Lieutenant Colonel Dick Cole, attending the funeral saluting the casket bearing Sergeant Thatcher’s remains.
On another blog there was a comment that we all give a “hand salute” to the Sergeant. Made me wonder about the meaning of “hand salute.” So googled the meaning of it. Oh-uh…it’s done with right (weapon hand). Can’t be PC much longer. Discrimination against lefties you know and glorifying weapons. It’ll be E.O.ed out of use before long.
P.S. Last Raider will be 101 in September.
Happy Independence Day tomorrow to all!

Thanks Unit. I hope you have a good day as well, with all the fixins. How easy to forget all that have sacrificed for us.

Not since the founding of our Nation as the survival of our dear Republic risen to the point of hanging in the balance to be decided in the next few months. We would be wise to ask for God’s sweet blessing on our dear Country.

prayer is about all we have left…maybe that’s God’s point, maybe that’s why He’s let it get this bad; to bring us back.
