Shirley y’all have read all I’ve read, about this election or anything else for that matter.
I’ll fess up and say yeah I done voted for Trump in Florida a few weeks ago.
An author I’ve read with favor since ’11 directed me to a article explaining the advantages of uncommitted delegates. That if bad information comes up prior to the convention, then they can be representatives and not have to follow the voted will of the people that could’ve been distorted. OK.
In spite of reading him favorably for years, we seem to be at odds now. But he says this and I agree…”Why do I refuse to bash friends over this election? Because politicians and politics are transient. Friendship shouldn’t be so flimsy.”
    We got to come together.

I’d have thought we could use all the investment we could use and Canadians, too…….You can’t BELIEVE the vetting some of my friends’ investments get; my husband was working on HUGE projects and the US makes it as difficult as possible…..they have to jump through hoops, tons of paperwork, proof there’s no terrorism funding, etc etc….and the deal usually falls apart, though totally good people, totally legal money, etc. it’s tough.

I know the legals have a real penalty for buying american. I bought some property from a Canadian who owned property here. The taxes were enormous and the paperwork tough.

It’s scary reading about something I don’t understand either. I think I’ll go to the bank, collect all my digits, and bring them digits home to store in my mattress. 🙂

I have been looking for more info. Apparently if a U.S. citizen lives outside the U.S. tough to do investing. But this is talking about Canadians doing trading with U.S. companies. No doubt some way the IRS tracks everyone. Maybe Canadians as well.

Geeez, Note I said store my DIGITS in my mattress. There’s not enough physical printed money U.S. dollars in the world to cash in if everybody demanded them for what’s on the books. So I guess mine will stay put ’til the government like in Cyprus decides to take what it wants.
And no that doesn’t make us feel better.
Reading the links and comments, it is part of the cashless movement, knowing who you are, where you’re to be found, and what you got, when government wants it.
I’d still have to report my digits in my mattress or explain what happened to them. 🙂
