It’s anything but Spring around my parts, but it’s coming. Some beautiful photography as a reminder. Enjoy.

Lovely vid, Bunk! I spent the day at my sisters’ on the beach here in S. California…it was SO GORGEOUS, particularly because it rained yesterday…the ocean was navy blue, the sun glistened on the water and you could see Catalina Island from her windows. What a gorgeous world we have!

But I really long for some real ‘weather’ here sometimes…rain is about all we get…and not much of that, either! I envy those of you with real weather! I have to admit, today felt lucky because of the beauty, but I also have to admit I’d love COLD WEATHER!

I read 4 inches at the homestead. Heading back there end of next week.

Only 4 inches. Jetstream must’ve had “little hands” this time. Here is a weather pattern I’ve notice for near about 40 years. In winter Ormond Beach is 10 degrees warmer than N.W. Fl, and in summer it’s 10 degrees cooler than NW Fl. Wife from there told me it due to the ocean breeze. I’ve followed weather reports most of that time and it’s true. Also visited and slept there and a ceiling fan was adequate for summer time. Grandma’s house only a couple of short blocks west of A1A along the beach, so could make the difference.

Hers a Sunday morning wake-me-up: my son who teaches music to autistic and special education students, plays in the NY jazz scene as well as limited tour dates with his ska band does 99% of his shopping on line due to having little free time to “go shopping.” Yesterday he went to Wal-Mart for the first time ever after which he called me and said ” Dad, I didn’t realize there are so many poor people here.’ I have seen this in most of the countries around the world while touring but never expected to see this here.” I told him, “Welcome to reality.” This is the new Americana …

Reality sets in at times. Wal marts are known for allowing RV overnight parking. The RV’s can be simple old converted vans. 24 hour open allows them to use the bathrooms. I follow their online groups and pretty sad that so many are now living out of their cars. They usually buy a gym membership that lets them shower.
