Cubans handed cash, Social Security card, food stamps, Medicaid at U.S. border

No big news here, but a reminder that the special status of Cuban “refugees’ automatically get the Obama phones and more. All one needs to do is get here. The clip shows an example of 8000 who got hung up on their way. Next time guys, take a direct flight. If anyone wondered the purpose of the Obama Cuban policy look no further. Yes, direct flights out of Havana should bring the “tired refuse of your teeming shores” here pronto with new voters coming right up. Here we go:

Thousands of Cubans rushing the U.S. border in record numbers are being greeted with a Welcome Wagon operation the provides them with taxpayer-funded benefits including cash, a Social Security card, food stamps, and Medicaid, according to a review of the latest immigration crisis on the border.

During a field trip to the Laredo, Texas crossing point, two experts from the Center for Immigration Studies documented how Cubans are provided with the services free of charge in a storefront operation set up by a Cuban immigrant, who even provides housing and schedules transportation to Miami.

“The door is wide open. Come and get your free stuff,” is how Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies, sized it up.

    Ditto to Mustang……
And did you hear Gov Cuomo is prohibiting any gov’t employees from going to N. Carolina because of the religious freedom bill there; it might hurt LGBT folks.
But HE’s going to Cuba, where LGBT folks better run and hide….Funny the left doesn’t get freaked by Obama going to a country and sucking up to people who oppress all the things he stands for, isn’t it?

I just Wiki’d women in Cuba and that is either the most confusing documentation or I’m stupid as a wall because it seems they do have rights and participate in gov’t, but they’re griping BIG time…?
        What do you think?

New York times: María Ileana Faguaga Iglesias, an anthropologist and historian who said that the story of Cuba’s progress toward equality was overstated, expressed the frustration of highly educated women. “We have to distinguish that access to university studies does not necessarily give us power,” she said in the report. “What’s more, to be in positions that are supposedly positions of power does not necessarily permit the exercise of power.”

Ms. Stephens agreed with the women’s frustrations. “They deal with sexism and machismo every day, in the home, in the workplace, everywhere,” she said. “It’s just not enough to have good laws.”

I’d forgotten her article…yes, I had seen that. Thanks for the reminder. The machismo problem, and hoping to solve that, is silly, however…you can’t legislate men not to be machismo, you know?

It’s much bigger than that. Government lets contracts worth billions to religious charities to feed, house and provide immigrants goods and services many poor people in this country can only dream of.

I’m not saying anything new, but we are off the rails…

Kudos to Obama. Historically, middle class Cubans, not the human debris and riff-raff of Jimmy ” I’ve got lust in my heart” Carter’s Mariel boat lift debacle, have tended to be and vote conservative. But now in one fell swoop Chaka has made the Cubans wards of the United States (read: Democrat party) welfare/ dependency system and in doing so has captured their vote maybe even before U.S. citizenship is bestowed upon them. Who knows but maybe once the dem’s gain control of congress, which may be sooner than we think, they may pass a bill granting refugee status to all of Latin America and Mexico and then disband an unneeded INS.
