Thanksgiving night, 1969, BB King, followed by The Ike and Turner Revue, open for the Stones at MSG New york City. King play ed the bridges of both songs, The Thrill is gone and Why I Sing The Blues with one hand. Lucille was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen. The tickets were $11.00 and the nickel bags were $5.00. Back then we lived like kings (no pun intended) on $5,000 per year. These days a politician can’t get laid for $5,000.
No but their indiscretions of getting laid and accepting lobbyist bribes leave them open to intimidation and sell out of constituents and country. Their “service” seems to leave them wealthy enough to be serviced in all manner of ways. We are just waylaid makers being made. 🙂
I heard BB in a little venue outside of Allentown pa, as a practice run for his big performance.. $5 Bucks. Sat 10 feet away. A local radio station would bring in big names for their trial runs. Yep. $5 K would do it.
